What are some of your peeves in Toyhouse profiles?

My own pet peeves when it comes to viewing people's toyhou.se profiles is when people use an image in the thumbnail and then not include it in the gallery.

It's annoying because sometimes the image in the thumbnail is a really good picture or even reference worthy and I just can't see it because it's not a viewable image. I have always made a big point in my profile design to include the character's thumbnail in my gallery or just dont have a thumbnail at all.

What are some things that peeve you off when viewing profiles?

(remember not to just target certain people! this is just a thread for getting things off your chest and maybe even helping others create more legible profiles!)

That being said, NONE OF THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN OFFENSIVELY

Also broken record but yeah the misused warnings are obnixious af & kinda patronizing in a way? like this is an artist/oc creator site I think most of the people on here already know not to steal characters. there's so many of them I have to turn them off. And long lists of 'do not's or things like "Don't steal or I'll hunt you down & break your arms" are a major turn-off for me in general (i have a hard time telling the difference between 'aggressive' and joking/calm behavior sometimes so these things come off as more 'aggressive' if you get what i mean)

idk man I don't like when ppl offer characters that said do not offer? I just don't get it...  It literally says do not offer the character?

atempause

profiles that require a NASA supercomputer to run smoothly. just because the coding allows you to create this gigantic monster of a profile doesn't mean you actually should and now nobody can load it without lags

Akeya

like, really disorganized profiles. To me, seeing everything out of order from like the base toyhouse profile is hard to follow and find where everything is. but profiles that are more minimal or where everything is easily accessible, those are okay. if i can't easily go through it through the mobile site, i don't like it.

;w; I really dislike the profiles with a whole custom background that takes up the whole page screen or have the buttons moved from their original spots. I look for the gallery button where it usually is,,, I really don't want to go searching for it. This goes for user profiles too.

I hate the thing where there’s a thumbnail but no image. When I joined TH it took awhile to figure out how to give a character multiple images but.. when you make the character the “add image” thing is right there. Especially when the characters are for sale/trade

shoya_aaa

When people have a billion folders with characters in them. It's much easier when you click on somebody's characters and you automatically see all of them

ShadowChromia

chiquitita123 oh no! I think i might be guilty of that! certainly not as much as my friend though, I try to keep my folders to a minimum while he has hundreds of folders and about 800 characters!

AHH I relate, custom pages can look so cool but.. the functionality isnt always there :'u

so many times I can't find the characters, the galleries, ugh!! can be a real drag

Content warnings. Most of them are stupidly long, and I don't know if it's just my theme/browser but they don't even display right and are usually hard to read.

I ended up finding a setting to turn them all off, but... literally 1 in 3 characters I came across had these warnings! And in my opinion, few of them actually needed a content warning at all.

People misusing a serious real world term in a tag. If you know, then you know. Let's just say, some serious topics should absolutely not be used to refer to NSFW and highly stylized characters that don't actually have anything to do with the term.

Stupidly tiny text. It's not cutesy or edgy, it's just a pain in the ass to read, lmao. Even worse if it's combined with pastel colors.

Really dumbass "warnings" about who can and can't do X with their profile/characters or interact with them based on politics or arbitrary crap. Actually, most "do not interact" or "do not follow if" warnings are stupid, as the truly bad and justified stuff would kind of be a given and you really don't need to state that. Like me saying "Don't follow my account if you intend to beg me for free art, steal characters, and spam my page", I wouldn't need to say that because it's just common sense. But if you have a long ass list about who can and can't follow or interact with you based on opinions and random crap, it just tells me that you're an elitist prick who's not worth my time.
