I like how some custom CSS profiles look, they're cool but sooo confusing sometimes; where do I go to return to other parts of ToyHouse? Is it currently faving or is it not? (Sometimes it takes a lot of time for a favorite to be registered, and I really like the fact the star next to it on basic profiles spins to let us know it's currently faving, but when some custom profiles takes that star out...and nothing changes...what do I do? I don't wanna unfav or spam without noticing!)
I don't see the point of saying "DON'T STEAL" either, because obviously no one wants their OC/art to be stolen. It's like, you go in a bakery and before handing you your croissant, the baker shoves a "DON'T STEAL THE CROISSANT!!!" sign in your face. Obviously I'm going to pay for it before I take it, if they even have a croissant to sell that is!
I have a question, if someone is reading this, knows an answer to it and wants to share it to me: how do you all do when you see a movie, when you read a book and there was no warning about a triggering topic of yours that goes into details? I can imagine that you "simply" stop watching/reading, but how many are going further, like skipping a few pages or closing their eyes during the entirety of the scene, then opening them again? In that case, do you still accept to view a profile with such contents? Also, what if those triggers were in a show or series you love a lot? I'm sure those who skip won't mind THAT much, but those of you that would completely stop - will you still stop watching your favorite show if it happened to have a segment with your triggers? I'm really sorry if I sound insensitive with those questions, but I want to be able to help better, and I can't completely understand everything or put myself into someone else's shoes if they're not my size: I have zero triggers that I can think of. I don't know where's the line between what amount of details will and won't trigger someone. I know it depends on the individual, but still...there are no warning elsewhere, how do you do?
I can understand why most users here don't have the patience (maybe?) to click on cropped images to see if they are fullbodies or simple headshots, but I see it the other way. I like to be curious and make it a "game" - was this pic cropped or not? Then *click* I see for myself, and it's always a pleasant feeling to discover something you couldn't see on its cropped version. On the contrary, I don't like uncropped images haha. When it's not cropped at all it takes all my curiosity away, and we can't see the smallest details very well on most occasions, that's just sad...I'm not one to click to see details I couldn't admire before if I think I saw it all already. I think it's not giving credit to the quality of the art style, it's what should give you the desire to click on the pic in the first place, not the fact it's a fullbody or a headshot (because both headshots and fullbodies can be just as great to look at, we admire the way it was drawn not the quantity drawn). So yeah, I'll stop myself here otherwise I'd talk about it for hours; I crop my images. It gives me the abillity to use them as alternative avatars for my characters without creating another pic or going god knows where to host another avatar and copy-paste the link if I so suddenly want to change/add an avatar on a character's bio. It makes my life easier if it's already in my character's art.
That leads me to excessively watermarked avatars and/or images. What's the point in them? To not steal what's yours? A smaller watermark will do just good. Excessively put watermarks everywhere and nobody will be able to understand the pic. And if it's on a ref, how are we going to do gift art/commissions if we can't see them properly?? Based on what I saw on here, is that it happens to be very often on detailed characters with lots of gradients, but we can't see them really well with watermarks. Please don't shout at us if our art for these characters isn't 100% accurate then! I have the chance to be able to see every color the world has to offer, well the ones a human can see anyway, but what if I was a color-blind person? Or at least, slightly color-blind? I think it can become tricky for them? Also, don't you want to see your own images someday? I like to open my images and go through them all for the sake of art being art: admire them. I don't think Mona Lisa is watermarked when you go to the museum lol. Also, how do you watermark a full animation? Both can still be stolen...and edited...by someone better known, someone that isn't known for stealing. It can still happen, even if unlikely. Heck, I already saw cases of highly watermarked pics being stolen and edited! In any case, my character art is my own little museum, free to come look and see, but obviously not to be taken away. Of course I have no Mona Lisa, but I'm not here to display only famous and top-notch things, I just want a good time here, sit on a bench and eat a croissant while looking at those beautiful statues out there <3 you can't have any scaffoldings around them all when visitors come from far and wide to see them! Is it an art gallery or a warehouse at the end?
OOF, sorry for the massive comment! I hope you like reading...
