Things You Liked Before They Were Cool

Exactly what the title said. What popular and mainstream things were you (and still are) a fan of before they hit the mainstream and exploded into popularity?

I'm admittedly curious about what things you guys are the OGs of.

Kekkai Sensen/Blood Blockade Battlefront

I was following the manga since it first released in the US many years ago, since the author made my favorite manga Trigun Maximum...... then it got an anime that was super good besides the. shoehorned in anime only plot for season 1. I wish I never sold my manga its basically impossible to find and super expensive

To this day all the weird little things like name changes from Leonard to Leonardo, Zap to Zapp, and Jerusalem's Lot to Hellsalem's Lot bothers me LKJFHDKLJD

Similar to malinois, I’ve always liked Dutch Shepherds before they became popular as sport/working dogs on TT

Oh also Grian, I liked him before he was introduced to hermitcraft (first got introduced in 2016) uhhh saw him when he was at 500K I’m p sure??

I don’t rlly get up to date w/ hermitcraft but I did binge the first part of 7 and dipped when the mycelium resistance vs HEP conflict ended lol

i still prefer his old content but I do like his present content, he gives me good vibes :) I miss NPC grian / the old crew

there’s a AU where NPC grian disguises himself as grian (snapshot AU by doctorsiren) and honestly I CANNOT unsee NPC grian making everything rustic LMFAOOOOO

edit: looking back on his old content his voice was more monotone and deeper somewhat. also I love his personality even before he joined hermitcraft he had this chaotic / gremlin side to him that always drew me to him like DanTDM (ahhhh nostalgia, I get that when I see / hear abt him)

Also Mumbo I watched a bit of him before HC7

Retro gaming, before the dark times, before the DMCAs and Auction house scams Scalping

Ah geez, I remember when Corpse was just a scary internet story guy... I think I found him in like... 2016-ish? He wasn't the smallest youtuber then but he was a fraction of the size he is now. He actually got me into scary stories for a while! Definitely not complaining that he's made it this far, he's pretty cool ^^

Not much that I can think of, but maybe Animal Crossing? I was playing Wild World as a kid and then got New Leaf a few months after its release, I'm not really old enough to have played since the beginning but definitely before New Horizons when everyone and their aunt plays.

Kangals before they boomed in popularity due to the tiktok dog community. I love those majestic guardians so much, not a fan of how many have their ears cropped however. But man they are beautiful dogs, one I’d like to own someday when I have the space and time. They are very elegant, gentle, and protective fluffy babs.

Minecraft I think! I watch a lot of content creators through my 3ds at a young age such as DanTDM, Bodil40, Stampy, and Team Crafted, ‘n UnstoppableLuck was one of my favorites before the last upload 4 years ago. I still have a Tube Hero plush of JeromeASF sitting on my shelf I bought when I was still a fan lol

I don’t watch MC content creators at all compared to all those years ago, especially Dream n all that, but it’s nice to go back to see the videos I enjoyed as a kid
