📋 Front/browse/search feedback thread

the update looks great so far! there are some mobile issues that people have already mentioned, but apart from that i just have one little suggestion;

would it be possible to use the frontpage settings as default settings for the browse (feed, popular etc) pages? if i go to any "Browse" page from the topbar, all four categories are ticked, and this feels sort of unintuitive when you can set what you don't want to see on the frontpage.
i think the option to toggle them on the fly is good, but being able to set which categories are ticked by default (either from the frontpage menu or display settings) would also be nice!

+1 to the min/max $ ranges just absolutely not working. it's quite frustrating ;v;

Going to the cog and unselecting all options for view does exactly as advertised -- but also removed the cog wheel for me and thus my ability to edit again 😂 May be add the cog wheel as a floater and not dependent on the container (if thats the right wording)? 

Edit to add: there doesn't seem to be anywhere else within my settings to toggle this sooo for this moment I have zero anything on my front page oop

Thanks so much for this update, this is a very helpful new feature to have different types of (non)characters! This will make browsing for the right kind of content much easier! ^^

My feedback:
* Eventhough there is an info box with a warning that you cannot revert your non-character into a character, I'd prefer an additional warning / extra confirmation modal when hitting "Update Character", because it cannot be undone. Like before deleting something "are you really sure ....", because I'm so clumsy sometimes and I'm scared I'll accidentally switch my precious OCs to a non-character, bc I misclicked something without noticing ><

the max and min value on the search dont work and id really love for it to be fixed as it'd be easier to find adopts/characters within my budget!

• So sorry for the mobile issues! 
  • The issue with the settings modal not showing the confirmation button seems to be a caching issue; I've force cleared the cache on our end, but if you're still experiencing this issue could you possibly let me know then try clearing cache and see if this fixes it?
  • The overflowing text on the character creation page is on me for not checking that on mobile and should now be fixed up, sorry! 
  • Just let me know if I've missed anything else, and thanks all for your help & patience ^^
• Regarding the accidental category selection on edit:
  • Thanks for the feedback here, I think it makes sense to make this much less prominent while editing since it's not something someone would want to be editing often. This has now been moved into the Advanced menu when editing the character only (as suggested by loutes, thank you!)
• If you have a character that's still showing up as being listings locked, could you possibly try the following steps? 
  • Go to their Edit Profile page, and change their category (eg. from Character to Ad), then click Save
  • After saving, could you then try adding them back to the listings? 
  • If this is still not working, please let me know with a link to the character profile as this sounds like a bug ^^ (You can also file a ticket for better visibility)
• The tags search is still available via the Search page! 
  • I'm sorry that this update may cause a bit of confusion -- the front page used to just link to the Search page as we didn't have a dedicated Browse Recent page -- since the update added a Browse Recent page, the front page now links to Browse Recent instead of Search
  • If you'd like to access the old Search page, this is accessible either via the button while browsing characters, or via the "Search" link in the navbar!
  • The two pages if you'd like to compare them:

• Togo: Funnily enough, this was how I originally coded it but I nixed the idea cause I thought it might be confusing to go to a page and see the settings have already been changed lol; I'll try adding it back in but will see if there's a way I can also make the front page settings obvious on the page so people know how to change it! 
• General bugs: 
  • Freebies not counting as a sale for the search filter (Karypto) -- this has now been fixed, thank you!
  • Ranges on the front page (Tokkori RainstormReverie Grimwolf35) -- I've had a look and tried fixing the logic on this, could you have a check and see if it's still not working as expected? Thanks for letting me know!
• Thanks all for the feedback regarding category changes/additions; we'll probably sit on this for a few days while collecting feedback and make any changes/additions in a batch so as not to make people keep moving their categories around ^^

Hi! Don't know if this just got removed for a minute for editing/bug fixes but the different listing types for characters don't show up for me when editing profiles, as of 1-2 minutes ago

Edit: nvm I see where it got moved to! forgot the advanced options were there for a sec.
thank you for the change I also would've been paranoid about changing listings by accident haha

cool feature! but I can't scroll down on the front page settings to confirm any changes I've made on browser (firefox), meaning that I can't actually use it :p

when I do scroll down it moves the front page itself behind the settings.

It's still not working correctly! It almost looks like it did, but it's definitely still showing things out of the max range. for example, i put in min: 50 max: 100 with only UFS characters, and it's showing me characters that are definitely above 100. screenshot here!

admin that's fair, i can see how it'd get confusing lol - default categories settings could perhaps end up in display settings, since it'd be more of a QOL thing for certain users? if you can't figure out how to make it intuitive feel free to ignore it, i just thought it'd be convenient with the current sorting options :'D

Love the new update! I think this is a good workaround that makes everyone happy. Tested the settings on the front page and was able to edit things smoothly on mobile!

As for suggestions, I have something that I've wanted for a long time, I have a thread in the suggestions forums with (currently) 76 votes of support: Adding an extra category in the trade listings: Trading for Art. You can view the thread here, it has more details along with reasoning and some users chiming in.

I find this super useful. Haven’t had any bugs on my end (on oprea gx iphone se) and the formatting seems fine over here. No suggestions because you seem to have enough on your plate lol. Just popping in to say great update, have a good one!

(oh one small thing. on the “browse” drop down menu it says hot, then when you click it the section says popular. dunno if that’s intentional just thought I’d mention it)

admin currently im still getting recommended sales that are $25-$100 when i put in max limit $20 and min $1

I can no longer jump to a certain page number on the home page 😅! I used the feature quite a lot for a variety of reasons and it doesn’t seem to work anymore upon trying
