This guy is always a surprise hit with people during artfight when I bring him out lol
@Judas-la-carotte's thread about underrated characters made me think about the opposite! I'm not going to use the word "overrated" because I certainly don't mean that any OCs deserve less love, but do you have any characters whom you're surprised get more attention than you expected they would, among your characters?
Maybe people pick them more often in forum games or art trades than other characters, they have more faves than you expected, or they're just the ones your friends have gravitated towards for whatever reason-- but maybe they aren't among your own favorites, or they're just not the OCs you expected would be popular.
And has that character's popularity inspired you to use or develop them more, or give them a bigger role in whatever story or project they may be in?
There are no particular rules for this thread; just be nice and don't try to make people feel bad about their taste or anything like that.
sage always gets a ton of attention and whenever i ask my friends who their favorite character in my novel is, they always say sage. i totally agree, I luv sage 2, but i didnt expect her 2 be so popular since shes just a girl. but i luv her to death and im glad she gets the love she deserves !
Definitely them, I literally got them as a freebie and people immediately started asking 4 pings 😭😭😭 also when I was hosting a raffle, a lot of people favorited them too!! This honestly has inspired me to draw them more often considering how many people like them :3
Idk if off-site counts but whenever i post art of yuri on tumblr it always gets a bit more attention than art of my other OCs...
I know most people will think i'm speaking hooblah but tbh i feel like part of the reason why she's so """popular""" is because she's a danganronpa OC (not to mention a fankid) and i always tag her art as "fankid" and not the actual ship so people kinda just assume she's a togafuka fankid bc of the blonde hair, red eyes, moodswings and surname (she's not, she's actually celeste's kid lol)
Forum games seems to like this one, he usually gets picked in 'steal a character/favourite design above you' threads!
If we're talking off site- people really like him, and he's an asshole half the time. ^^
He does well in character interactions, so I guess that's where he gets his love from the most lol!
Another would have to be Tenko, also off site loved. Also to lazy to link. 💙 Not many like OCs relates to Canon characters. But I'm glad people do like him though ^^
