Are any of your characters based on people in real life? Not necessarily the whole character, but maybe they share speech patterns with your friend, or personality quirks with your brother, or you gave them the same haircut as a girl in your class-- I'm just curious about the little ways we put our own lives into our characters!

- It should go without saying, but please be careful not to put actual identifying personal information about any real people here.
- Thinking about people in our immediate lives is what prompted this thread, but real people whom you don't know are also ok if they served as inspirations!
- And if your characters are based on you in some ways, that's fine too!
Beryl is actually based on Madeleine Hyland, she is also her voice claim. She was originally based on the song Pray by her band The Amazing Devil and I very loosely based her husband James on Joey Batey, the other lead vocalist in the band.
There's also Otso, who I based on Vesa-Matti Loiri and specifically his character in the movie Shadow of The Eagle and the song Pelimannin Perintö from it!
Rear Admiral Karrson here was inspired by one of my high school teachers; even his backstory and his relation to my main Azur Lane OC, Zagreus (who was inspired by myself), is based on him :)
it isn't listed in his profile yet but one of his 'catchphrases' of sorts is "it's classified."/"that's classified." which is also taken from that teacher lol
This one is basically my alter. It has everything that’s happened to him basically and even if it’s…. Concerning 😭 it’s still him. I love him, like I’ve said before I just wish his life was more happy
I don't know if this counts, but her design is based on a caricature drawing of a real celebrity I saw. I'm not gonna mention who.
A character that mostly exists for vent purposes, Carter is an amalgamation of all the people I've had unhealthy, one-sided attachments to (aka, my FPs). A combination of all their negative traits, while at the same time retaining a lot of the positive traits that caused me to like them in the first place.
Edit: Val on the other hand, is based off of me, but in a similar vein to Carter, is mostly an embodiment of my more negative traits. Marlo is also partially based off of me, although they're more of a feral animal design so it's difficult to make that apparent. The fact they have brown hair and green eyes is based off of me.
Mason's got a few sources of inspiration from irl people. He initially was based on Jeff Blim - specifically his performance in Twisted and a bittt of The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals. As I developed Mason more, he ended up taking a bit after JSchlatt in personality AND his voice claim!
