His appearance is not based on my perception of anyone (he was a premade adopt). However, his personality is meant to mimic one of my good friends. Ever since I met this friend, I always noticed that they would make a perfect character in a story. So I brought that essence to Valentine because I couldn't stop thinking about it.
Are any of your characters based on people in real life? Not necessarily the whole character, but maybe they share speech patterns with your friend, or personality quirks with your brother, or you gave them the same haircut as a girl in your class-- I'm just curious about the little ways we put our own lives into our characters!

ezel is based off of my boyfriend! he's not a furry but i am so he has no self-designated fursona so i kinda gave him one lmao. the bio is mostly undone but ezel is made to be his exact mirror; shy, easily hurt or insecure, passive, obedient, introverted and a total goofball. absolutely adorable in my opinion.
Junebug's based off my little sister! Her looks are straight up just torn from her, personality's in development but will probably be heavily based off her too. In that universe- my fiance & I both have characters meant to be basically us and I wanted to give my boy family. I've still got two other siblings to add eventually, any version of me has to have his siblings.
Based on Moll Cutpurse! Obviously not one I knew personally lmao, but they did exist irl!
Eugen is very loosely based of 2016 Voltron's Lance.
Rumi was accidentally based of Uraraka from BNHA. Even Rumi's voice claim is Uraraka.
Lyak is based off of Takanobu Aone from Haikyuu!! Both are intimidating guys who can always keep a calm head.
Cal is based off a table mate in my German class lmao. They're both very tall, bulky, quiet, and shy. He 100% fits the lovable jock trope.
yngvar is actually based off one of my favorite musicians, who goes by the name of mikael akerfeldt (frontman of opeth)! most of the aspects and traits of yngvar is heavily based off him. mikael akerfeldt actually has a special place in my heart as his music has really helped me go through tough times. along with that, he's combined with other fellow rock/metal musicians and figures, such as ihsahn, steven wilson, and devin townsend. they play a pretty big role on the development of yngvar! however, mikael akerfeldt plays the bigger role into his development. i really loved mikael's overall appearance (his hair, his facial hair, eyes, etc), so i decided mash up most of his physical traits into yngvar! he's also a little bit based off me when it comes to personality, except he's a much bigger, emotional mess than i already am, agonizing on his mental health issues and being too stubborn enough to not get himself into therapy.
eros is based off my mother, whom i absolutely cherish a lot. most of his personality traits and aspects resonate with my mother!
Jesse here is entirely based off of my closest friend of over 10 years. His arc in the story he's a part of is based off of my friend's own personal journey and growth.

Benjamin was originally based off of Darwin Deez, an indie rock musician that I listened to a lot at the point I created the character. The character was likely originally created in either 2015 or 2016. He has changed a lot since then, but out of everything, the voice claim and character's career has still stuck! Darwin's actual, real-life music is an accurate representation of this character's voice and style of music.
I sometimes wonder if this artist is aware that someone based one of their main characters off of him (which would be very surprising, since this guy barely has a fanbase at all). I wonder if he'll ever find out that Benjamin exists!
What about myself?
I do have a character who originated from a guy in my class though. He was mean and obsessive towards me and kept asking me to date him, but because I was younger and careless I told him "When my mom says I'm allowed to date, then I'll tell you." (Fun fact, I'm still not allowed to date but i don't mind! Almost out of highschool!)
but he kept asking me to make a character based on him and I did. It was named Tristan for a long time, then I remade it a few times to be Matt, then Tony, and finally Todd. Todd is now a sweet character that serves to be my main character's lover. He's a total wimp and he has no guts. I guess that's what makes me like him now? He's the total opposite to that dude in my class. Maybe I vented all the frustration out into the character and made him something I like? (I do have separation problems when it comes to ocs, I can't get rid of them if i made them for myself. Not even really for money or stuff. They mean too much to me.
