Not necessarily the whole character, but maybe they share speech patterns with your friend, or personality quirks with your brother, or you gave them the same haircut as a girl in your class-- I'm just curious about the little ways we put our own lives into our characters!

She's based off Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova(the real life one) - and shares the same name. I've always been interested in the Disney movie about her and even her disappearance until I found a wiki article explaining what happened. I kinda wanted this version to be a happier ending since her true story is very cruel and sad,,

Connor was based on someone I knew a while back, with some sprinkling of this kind of weird kid I knew in the ninth grade who would argue with the teachers and other students about politics.
Maurice was inspired by one of my doctors back when I was a kid, too. v_v Both in design and in personality-- being a fat, balding old white guy who still looks polite? And being kind, but also straightforward as fuck.
And Maurice's brother, Raphael, was based just a little bit on Walt Disney. More so in appearance than in personality.
Manslaughter is a story I really like to tell :')))) In my hometown, there was a girl who broke into my old elementary school pretty recently, wears a pink hoodie and a mask, and stole a bunch of power tools. She was never caught.
Shrike wasn't based on anyone in real life, I suppose, but I feel like I pumped more of myself, particularly my own interests, into her more so than any other characters of mine.
Jean-Antoine is pretty similar to a character who is based on Jack The Ripper, so hopefully that counts..?
I shouldn't need to explain this.. He is based off Gordan Ramsay personality and name wise. Think of him as a knock off Gordan Ramsay.
Rachael was originally created as a sort of ideal version of my friend.
To clarify: That has since changed, we decided to make her her own character with her own personality. There are small similarities between the two of them but she is no longer supposed to be a representation of her. That's what I meant when I said originally. You can read more of her origin story under her personality tab, where I am answering a bunch of questions, either from people, ones that I thought of, or things I find on threads here.
Fei Hong? She's very much a work inprogress but the girls' based on a particular a chinese dancer named Jiang Yun and her performance of a particular dance. I had the general idea (mute, bashful, DnD bard who communicates by Minor Illusion and uses chinese fan dance for spellcasting) before so I looked up some videos to draw studies of their movements. And then I stumbled upon that one and...I suppose in a way every time I picture that character she's got the face of that dancer? Though I try to downplay that when I draw her because just putting elf ears on a real-life girl and calling it a day feels a bit tacky. But I mean, she has the exact right features, hair, attitude, costume, movement, that its hard to distance the OC's design from the inspiration without it starting to feel off. XD

Jesse's story and personal journey in the comic I'm planning for him is actually very inspired (with permission!) by my closest friend's journey of personal acceptance and self discovery.
I just... made his much more mature since my FRIEND was 14 during his journey and Jesse is going to be like... 24.
