These are some questions that have been asked about the Gems, either in the discord, or in the group. If you got any questions that aren't on this list, please just ask in the comment section of this journal.
("Gem" is a word used to describe all five species, rather than typing all five every time)

Gem questions

The reference of the gemstones coming out of a Gems' marking only shows the arm. Do they come out of the other markings as well?
-Yes they do. The gemstones come out of all of their markings. When they use their gemstone skeleton for defense they can control which markings the gemstones comes out of, for example the end of their tail, their knuckles, shins and so on. When they produce gemstones they can't control it and the gemstones grow out of all of the markings.
It works differently for Gemmismae. When they use their gemstone skeleton for defense they can make it come out of any part of their body that they wish. They don't produce gemstones as often as one of the other Gem species, because only 5% of the gemstone they produce are pure. The rest of the gemstones are poisonous. When they do produce gemstones, the gemstones come out where they want.

Can a Gem control their gemstones to always stay out?
- Not exactly. The gemstones that comes out of their markings when they're producing them will break off by themselves when they can't grow anymore, or if they're broken off with force, which is extremely painful. It would be like breaking their bones. The gemstones that come out of their markings when they are going to defend themselves are the gemstones that protect their skeleton. Once danger is over, the gemstones withdraw themselves back inside the Gem to protect the skeleton again. Those gemstones can also be broken off, which is still extremely painful and like breaking their bones. So the gemstones can't always stay out.
A way to "heal" the gemstone skeleton if pieces has broken off during fight, or by force, is to eat part of the element that their gemstone is made out of, just like when they produce the gemstones. They don't need to eat much of the element, just a bit, and the gemstone skeleton will heal. Some gemstones may grow out through their markings, but they will typically be small and break off by themselves quickly, since the element was only eaten to heal the gemstone skeleton, not for gemstone production.

Is a Gem's tail prehensile?
- Yes! They are. A Gem can move their tail, grab things and wrap their tails around things/people as they want.
An example would be when my Felaern wraps his tail around his mate and kids when he cuddles them.

What is the color of the smoke that Ignisdites breathe out?
- The smoke is grey.

Does Gems have pads under their paws?
- Gemmadites, Undadites and Geludites have pads under their paws. Gemmismae's canine and feline paws also have pads under them.

If a Gemmismae has fire as their magic, can the flame be a different color than orange?
- The flame can have different color depending on the temperature.
- Red: 600 to 1.000 degrees Celsius
- Orange: 1.000 to 1.200 degrees Celsius
- Yellow: 1.200 to 1.400 degrees Celsius
- Blue: 1.400+ degrees Celsius

Are Gemmismae able to use their poison and magical powers perfectly from instincts, or do they have to practice?
- Their magical powers are very weak when they're born and in their toddler years, so they have to practice their powers for them to get stronger. Their poison however, they are able to use from instincts.

Gems are born with both gender genitals, but how does it work?
- They don't have both genitals present at the same time. They are born with both genitals, but only one is present at a time and determines their gender at birth. The other genital is hidden inside their body and "come out" when same sex couples want to have kids.

Can Gems have facial hair?
- Yes, they most certainly can!

Can some Gemmismae have gills?
- Yes, but to have gills they have to have two out of the three underwater traits. If they only have one, but have water as their magical power, they can breathe under water.

Can Gems make sounds like purring and hissing? And can they wag their tails?
- Yes they can. Purring is a way for them to show comfort, and hissing is a way to warn others. They can wag and sway their tails as well, which is a way of showing happiness.

Gems don't wear shoes, but can they wear socks?
- They don't wear socks outside, but they can wear them at home for comfort and warmth during cold days.

Can they have a different religion/belief than, or can they only have the ones from Ditee-ath?
- If they have lived elsewhere most of their life/all their life, or simply find another world's religions/beliefs interesting they can live by those.

Ditee-ath questions

What kind of leadership do they have on Ditee-ath?
- Ditee-ath is a world with democracy, which means the government is made up of different political parties, and the party that gets the most votes are the party in charge. There's a new election every fourth year.

What are education and jobs like on Ditee-ath?
- Ditee-ath has a school and education system just like on earth. I would say that the education system is more simplified, as Gems only have to study the subjects related to their education when they start college. You can read more about the system here: School and education system

Does royal Gems exist?
- The ancient Spirits were kind of considered as royals, and tribes back in ancient times would have had chiefs, but kings, queens, princes and princess were never a thing on Ditee-ath. Some Gems would have been rich enough, and have enough influence to have a high social rank and be close considered to a royal, but no one really had any power over a region like a king/queen would over a country.

Misc questions

Are mutations only exclusive to paid MYO's? Or can they be purchased for free MYO's as well?
- Mutations are not exclusive to paid MYO's only. You can certainly purchase them for your free MYO's as well either through paypal, with points, or with SB (Stonebucks - the fake currency system created for the species)

Does the rarity of the mutations have to match the rarity of the Gem?
- Nope! They don't. You can add a common mutation to a rare Gem.

Can Gemmismae's markings be complicated?
- Their markings can look as simple as you want, and they can look complicated, but not too complicated. Their markings also can't be all neon colors!

Can I change the markings of my Gem?
- You can't change the markings on Gemmadites, Undadites, Geludites and Ignisdites. Their markings are fixed and have to look the way they do, and be placed where they are. But! You can change the markings of your Gemmismae, as their markings are not fixed and can look however you want. You can always check the "Editing" section of the T.O.S. to see what you can and can't do in regards to editing your Gem: T.O.S.

Are Gems aware of the rarities, or is it just a system for us? If they are aware, would they be self-conscious about it?
- They are aware that some traits, and gemstones, are not seen nearly as much as others, but they are not aware of the rarity system. Whether or not they are self-conscious about it is up to the owner of a Gem, as it can be part of their personality, or they could be raised by their parents to believe that they're more important/less important than other Gems if they have a higher/lower rarity than others.

Are Gems allowed to have pets?
- Of course they are!

Can we change the gender of a Gem?
- As a basis you can always change the gender on your own MYO. You can on adopts too, but if the adopt artist doesn't allow gender swap, you can't change the gender of your Gem.

Can exclusive traits be used on a MYO?
- They can't, no. Exclusive traits are exclusive, because they're deleted traits, so they can no longer be used on new MYOs.
