★ When a Gem turns 18 years old they pay 37% of their payment in taxes, and 5% to their pension savings. Taxes and pension savings are taken from the payment before the payment is given to the Gem. Taxes goes directly to the government's savings, which goes to funds, expansions of schools, building of new schools, and other stuff like that. Pension savings goes directly to the Gem's pension savings

★ There are also sales taxes on clothes, food, furniture and everything you can buy and take with you home. The sales taxes are the same for everything, which is 19%, and the sales taxes are added to the prices in the stores. That means if a couch costs 4.500 SB that is the price you have to pay. You do not have to add 19% to the price.

★ The government is in control of which other planets they have trade routes with, and import/export companies are given lists of what items they can import from the planets they are trading with, and what items from Ditee-ath they are allowed to export to other planets. The biggest import company on Ditee-ath is called "Immeril Import" and has existed since 1801, founded by Ira Immeril.

★ Things that are illegal to import/export are:
- Weapons (Guns, knives, etc.)
- Gems, other species and instinct animals.
- Medicine.
- Drugs.
- Chemicals.
- Smuggling of any kind.

★ While Gems do live in caves, and Gemmismae in tree houses, they do have buildings made of bricks, concrete, steel and wood. Schools, colleges, universities, dentists, hospital, medical practices, grocery stores and other types of stores are all buildings like on earth, instead of caves.

★ Schools, colleges and universities are owned by the government, and paid to through taxes. Students do not wear a school uniform. They can wear casual clothes to school, as long as they are decently covered. The government makes sure that the schools, colleges and universities have money to buy books and other supplies that the students will need.

★ Even though Gems', except Gemmismae, saliva has healing abilities and can heal scratches, shallow cuts, deep wounds and some burns, they still need doctors to take care of the more serious injuries and illnesses, so healthcare on Ditee-ath is free and is paid through their taxes. This means that dentists, doctor visits, hospitalizations, operation and psychologists are all covered by the government. Other types of treatments, such as psychotherapists, physiotherapist, chiropractor and alternative treatments are covered by the government by 30%. If a gem has a healthcare insurance they can get an additional 10% of the payment paid. The rest of the payment they have to pay themselves. Their healthcare insurance also covers medicine with 50%, which means that they only have to pay half of the price for the medicine.

Police departments are owned and paid to by the government, but a small percentage of the taxes goes towards the police departments as well. Police departments are usually located close to hospitals. To become a policeman/woman there are certain criteria to follow:

Police:
- Be at least 20 years old.
- Have a college degree.
- Be in good shape.
- No criminal record.
- Have never been on drugs.
- Have a Ditee-ath citizenship.
- Being cleared to carry a weapon.

The education lasts two and a half years. Eight months at the police academy (1st semester), eight months at a police department (2nd semester) and four months at the police academy (3rd semester). Every four months the Gem will be evaluated for their personal, social and professional skills. The evaluation is written and has to be passed on a satisfying level to move on to the next semester.

On the first semester the Gems are taught about:
- Crime technique.
- First aid
- Interrogation
- Law
- Psychological topics
- How to act professional.
- Writing reports. - How to handle accidents and death.
- Shooting practice.

On the second semester the Gem is at a police department to get experience. They will be assigned as partner to one of the other policemen at the department and learn from them, as well as get their own experience. On the third and last semester, the Gem goes back to the police academy. On the last semester the subjects from the first semester will be heavily elaborated, and at the end of the semester the Gem has to demonstrate that by utilizing the theory and methods they can independently analyze and reflect upon the police work, as well as pass at least three different simulations.

The police also have a S.W.A.T. (Special weapons and tactics) team. To become a part of the S.W.A.T. team, a Gem has to complete the police education, worked in a department for at least five years and then undergo special training, which is considered very tough. They have to do physically hard training, work with different types of guns, train and do simulations with the military. The S.W.A.T. team is specially trained to resolve situations like: hostage situations, covert and undercover operations, tracking fugitives, and more.

The five Gem species are relatively peaceful species, mostly among each other, but can be hostile towards species they do not know. That does not mean that they travel to other worlds to conquer them. They travel to other worlds to learn more about them. Their military is owned by the government, as well as paid by the government and a small percentage of the taxes go to the military as well.

When a male Gem turns 18 years old they get summoned to do mandatory military service, which lasts one year on Ditee-ath. If a Gem is taking an education when they get the summoning letter, the military service will be postponed until they are done with the education. When they arrive at the military base they have to go through a physical and medical examination to make sure they can do the military service. A Gem who suffers from an illness cannot be in the military. Whether they want to continue in the military and pursue a carrier within the military is all up to the individual Gem. Female Gems are also accepted into the military if they wish to do military service. They have to be at least 18 years old as well and undergo the physical and medical examination like the male Gems do.

The military is solely there to protect the planet and its inhabitants towards illegal actions from other species, such as hunting for their animals, taking their resources and abduction of the Gem species to get their gemstones. The military is also ready on standby in case a hostile species should come along and try to take over Ditee-ath.

The military is strong, disciplined and tactical. They go through strict and tough training every second day and are masters at hand-to-hand combat. Even though they excel in hand-to-hand combat, they do still carry weapons. They regularly have various simulations of different situations to maintain and hone their skills in how to handle the situations they are called out to.

In a futuristic setting, the military has spaceships and a special squad that specializes in flying through space to rescue abducted Gems.
