Give a Pokemon Team to the Character Above you

Posted 7 years, 5 months ago (Edited 6 years, 10 months ago) by NoLongerInUse

This game is similair to the Choose a Pokémon for the character above you! thread. However, instead of choosing one pokemon that seems to suit their looks/personality, you create a team~! You can stick to one type or choose several based on color alone. It's all up to you.
Here are the links to the 3D Sprites (Sun/Moon | Shiny) (Alpha Saphirre/Omega Ruby | Shiny) (X/Y |Shiny)

For example, let's say the first post is for Albine

Post 2: What about Air Time?

Post 3:What about Buibui?

And it continues from there.

Meloetta for that bardic inspiration. A singing buddy.
Swirlix is not actually swirlix but a strawberry Alcremie... but the team maker doesn't have sw/sh pokemon yet. So just pretend. Strawberry Alcremie because... y'know... he likes strawberries! I thought it was a cute little buddy to add. Every pokemon team needs a buddy, in my opinion.
Vulpix and Fennekin are both chosen for his fire magic. I think Vulpix goes nicely with his design, and Fennekin evolves into a wizard-y looking dude so I thought that would be very fitting.
Chansey for heals, of course. Another cute pokemon, I pray he doesn't mind. But whenever you think of a pokemon that heals, Chansey comes to mind! She's always with Nurse Joy, after all.
And lastly, Gogoat for his pre-existing goat buddy! It fit too perfectly.

Koi Mercenary_Ike
  • First of all, he looks like Jirachi (sort of)
  • Wooloo because they simply roll away from conflict, plus I'm pretty sure the wool is super soft for a pillow. Plus it's evolution Dubwool looks stubborn but is very sweet
  • Galarian Rapidash because of the horn, plus it's a psychic type which can represent Levitation
  • Togekiss as it appears to only peaceful people, plus it's a healer and very much friendshaped.
  • Alakazam for his intense concentration but also because since it has such a big brain power, it could understand Tsumi more easily as he tries to communicate, and translates it in a more easy to understand manner
  • Finally I'm wrapping his team with Zoura because I associate it with N, a character that reminds me of Tsumi.
Smithson (Human) kafkaesque

Koi really, really doesn't strike me as the type of trainer to engage herself in battles unless absolutely necessary. if anything, she'd rather just have a good time with her Pokemon, who primarily exist as companions. however, because of the possibility of her being in battles, she does keep her team fairly competitive... just in case... so in a way they're sort of like her guardians as well?? she'd prefer not to use that term, however, and primarily just sees them as her "companions" or "friends." (though I can see her occasionally using them in contests as well!!) as for specific typing and appearance, I can see her going for the more cutesy ones - so normally Normal or Fairy - but isn't particularly picky with them. anyways, here's the team I have in mind for her; explanations are below the cut as always lol.

pikachu.gifgorebyss.gifsmeargle.gifaltaria.gifmusharna.gifroserade.gif

Pikachu is the only Pokemon on Koi's team that wouldn't be fully evolved, which prevents it from being super competitive. though she'd probably beef it up with an Eviolite or Light Ball if absolutely necessary?? most of the time, however, she'd prefer just... keeping it as a companion, or a contest competitor if she feels like engaging in contests. so, if Pikachu is kind of like the sore thumb of the team, why pick this one over Raichu? Pikachu has a wide variety of forms, many of them having different outfits; it reminded me of Koi's love for cosplay, and unfortunately Raichu doesn't nearly have that same level of versatility. Pikachu is also just a fairly flexible Pokemon in general, similar to how Koi is flexible across universes.

honestly, when I first saw Koi, I immediately thought of the fucking fish lmaoooo- the association unfortunately still persists, so adding a Water-type into her team was inevitable. I was actually tempted to choose Luvdisc or Amolamola over Gorebyss, but I feel like the former two have been associated with her before, so I chose the latter to hopefully provide more variety lmao. the pink in this Pokemon sort of reminds me of Koi's ships?? although that's honestly a stretch. (I'd say that she likes cute Pokemon, but that's like... a recurring theme in my selections, and I don't want to get repetitive.) for a more lore-based reasoning, Koi probably received her Gorebyss as a Clamperl as a gift, before she eventually evolved it. Gorebyss is also described as an elegant and peaceful creature, kind of like Koi herself!!

Smeargle is?? sort of a reference to the time I assigned her Sketch in that Pokemon move thread, whoops. that asides, I do see Koi's creative spirit reflected in this Pokemon, and I can see her using it when she needs artistic inspiration!! I also mentioned this in the moveset thread, but Smeargle's flexibility in learning moves high-key reminds me of Koi's adaptability across multiple universes, though this particular Smeargle would have a pretty meme-y moveset just for kicks. (also because the number of Sketches a Smeargle gets is quite limited.) as with her Pikachu, the Smeargle wouldn't really be competitive, but it does pack a punch if used, and she'd definitely use it to amuse the people around her. ^^

back at it again with the references to past interactions, huh. Altaria is meant to be a reference to her habits of singing, as well as Koi's habit of cuddling up to people she likes when stressed/upset. after all, who wouldn't love to snuggle up to a bird with a cloud body? I actually see her having a mega Altaria in this particular case because extra fluff is always better + Mega Evolutions are... wild, to say the least. I actually was going to choose a Swablu for her at first because of the singing bit, but given that her team is supposed to be fairly strong (excluding that damn Pikachu), I feel that Altaria would be a much more suitable selection in case she ended up in battles. also... extra fluff...

Musharna is admittedly super out there, but as soon as I saw the fact that Koi was a daydreamer, I leaped straight towards the first Pokemon associated with dreams... actually, that's sort of a lie. I initially thought of Munna, but as with her Altaria, I wanted her team to be a bit more competitive, so Musharna it is lol. I can see Musharna eating Koi's daydreams every so often, so it's a pretty relaxed yet naive Pokemon?? kind of like a reflection of Koi in a way, if I'm gonna be perfectly honest. it'd also be the source of reason if she gets too carried away with her daydreams, given the whole eating dreams business lmao. the dream mist coming out of it also sort of refers to her habit of walking around the fog when lonely, but that's a bit of a stretch imo.

and last but not least, Roserade joins the ring!! my initial line of reasoning is that I wanted to give Koi a Pokemon that evolves with high friendship, and the first Pokemon to pop up that fit that requirement was Swoobat. however, as I see Koi being pretty varied in her team, I eventually went with Roserade instead. it's not as strong as the whole Swoobat idea because she could've just caught it as a Roselia, but... first, her boyfriend could give her a Shiny Stone as a gift. and second (which is the interpretation I personally prefer), she had it ever since it was a Budew and raised it all the way up to a Roserade. not only would she have a tight bond with it, but it'd also be excellent for both contests and battles!! in fact, I can see Roserade being her very first Pokemon, as weird of a curveball as it is. also... this is admittedly a bit obvious/superficial, but the roses in the line low-key make me think of her ships, as roses are a classic symbol of love... ;)

@ NP: Smithson is canonically a Ghost-type trainer, but please don't feel obligated to make his team only Ghosts because of that!! I'd actually prefer it if you based your team selections off his appearance, personality, and so forth!!

---

   - ooooh, I do appreciate you totally avoiding the Ghosts, if I'm gonna be honest esycgscesce- that asides, I do find your choices very interesting!! the Minccino particularly stuck out to me, as the idea of a shady man(tm) like Smithson having a cutesy Pokemon like it is... low-key pretty funny... it does fit him though!! Dolores probably gave it to him as a gift, and he kept it for reasons. also, the fact that a lot of these Pokemon can learn moves super effective against Psychic types is... especially a quirk I appreciate, given the lore surrounding him and his father.

Petrel malaquill

claim! done!

delphox.gifpersian.gifbeedrill.gifzoroark.gifminccino.gifgothitelle.gif

To start, I'm going to give him a shiny Delphox. Its appearance reminds me a bit of him, and his like of hot food and his Chandelure make me think a fire type would be a good party leader if he isn't using his usual Ghost types. It's also able to see into the future, and I think that would either help or hinder him if it can communicate that; either way, it could make an interesting dynamic.  I'm giving him a Persian next; his influence and money makes me think of Meowth and Payday, but I can't help but feel that he would have evolved such a Meowth if he had one. Persian is also snooty and mean and prone to scratching, and i think that and its strength (according to Pokedex entries) pairs well with his combination of questionable morals and well-known skills. It's also associated with Giovanni, so it's a nice meta nod to the shadier things surrounding him. And it's a half dark type!

His interest in strong Pokemon over Pokemon with a certain look and his like for bug-types makes me think a Beedrill would be a good addition to his team. Actual stats notwithstanding, they're vicious and territorial, so much like Persian, it plays into the shady stuff. Its secondary typing also further fuels this, being a Poison type. Since he's prone to foul play, I've also put Zoroark in; who's better at fighting dirty than an illusionist?  It can even learn the actual move, Foul Play. It's also a Dark-type; these two were picked partially to round out his type interests.

His need for organization and frequent formal dressing makes me think a Pokemon that's good at cleaning would be good for him, even if his organizations seems to be more of the "writing things down" type. Minccino might keep some of the extra stress off in other areas, though, so I'm going with that for the fifth team member!  Minccino doesn't seem like it would necessarily be someone on his regular team as a fighter, but would be a practical choice to keep things tidy.  Finally, Gothitelle; this also is partially due to his formal clothing, but there's a notable Pokedex entry, too: "A criminal who was shown his fate by a Gothitelle went missing that same day and was never seen again." Maybe it's also something from his days defying gender norms?

Koi Mercenary_Ike
  • His class is trickster rouge, normally I'd think Zororark, but Grimsnarrl for just being more in line with his aesthetic
  • His name is Moth, which makes me think Frosmoth, which is also 4X weak to fire, somewhat symbolizing his fear of lightning (You can swap with Gyrados for that true 4X electric weakness)
  • Gengar can cloak him in shadows, protecting him from bright light
  • Houndour is not only a dog, but it's a dark type. He tends to not have it use fire attacks
  • Gliscor is a ground type and can learn Guillotine, a one hit ko move, referencing his assassin past. Plus it's just a cheery goofball which can reference his inability to be sadistic.
Jasper CilantroLeaves

Im not sure when your claim is going to be filled out, and considering its been about 10 and a half hours I hope its ok if I skip you Mercenary_Ike ^^; If you fill out your claim I can provide a team to you as well.

Larkspur

So I particularly noted that they doesn't really like Lightning. So I'm gonna give myself a bit of a challenge and try to not choose any Pokemon that can learn things like Thunderbolt and Thunder and/or are Electric types.

mightyena.gifhoundoom.gifabsol.gifzoroark.gifespurr.pngditto.gif

Mightyena - Their first Pokemon, originally from his organization for killing.  However Moth grew really attached to it because she was a lot like them.

Houndoom - Their second Pokemon. Moth actually stole him during the same instance of the Lighting Bolt Spell hitting them.

Absol - Caught. They mostly keep her for its purpose of predicting disasters.

Zoroark - Caught. Kept for its ability to transform. I'd like to imagine she was the one they befriended on the streets.

Espurr - Caught and hes shiny. Used to study magic and its anomalies. However they don't really like him that much and mainly keeps him because hes shiny.

Ditto - See Zoroark.

Mercenary_Ike - Here you go! Sorry about that ^^

jigglypuff.gifvaporeon.gifespeon.gifpersian.gifninetales.giffurret.gif

Jigglypuff: Given to her by her by her aunts. She often uses it to sleep soundly and has woken up a few times with marker on her face. She loves it anyway regardless.

Vaporeon and Espeon: Given to her by her parents before the Car Crash. She evolved them both from eevees + they were twins. Originally pets, but she accidentally evolved the Espeon and therefore used a water stone on the other.

Persian and Ninetails: She mainly uses these ones for going on walks to protect herself from wild Pokemon. Considering Koi's shy nature I take it she doesn't battle often so these two have gotten used to protecting her without command.

Furret: Caught. She caught it and it is relatively new to her team. It is rather mischievous and tends to try and cheer her up by stealing her things and hiding them.

_______________

Next Poster, I'd really appreciate if he had a Heracross on his team! Also please don't give him all grass and bug types.

Rowan Luo danlion

Heracross - Well, obviously. I was going to say it before I even saw it in your post lol. He likes beetles, therefore: beetle.

Wimpod - They're little shy buddies together. I feel like Jasper would take the time to make a wimpod trust him and allow itself to be caught!

Drapion - Last bug (or bug-based), I promise. This one was based off the headcanon that he isn't afraid of and would help even the scariest of bugs, so in his team of otherwise cute pokemon, there is... this thing.

Galarian Ponyta - Galarian Ponyta can read a person's heart and will run if you're evil. Jasper seems so far from evil, as innocent and caring as someone could be, so I think he'd get along fantastic with a Ponyta - its healing horn can help him with all those injured pokemon he comes across, too.

Slowking - Jasper is described as dim, and when I think of dim pokemon I think of Slowpoke... but I felt like a straight up Slowpoke would be a bit much, so he gets to have a Slowking, who may evolve from the dumbest known pokemon, but is hyper intelligent and can find more books and tales to tell him. Iirc Slowking can speak, or at least communicate telepathically, so they could actually have chats.

Phantump - Nature includes death, so maybe he picked up a little lost ghost along the way.

--

He has a pokemon au tab with some pokemon in it already, you can either build on that and why you think he has them since I didn't elaborate, or choose a whole new team, whatever.

Oh my god I love these, cherubi and deerling especially. Ok Yeah I nabbed a few of these, thank you...

Otto Alkaev II Vapor

since rowan doesn't battle with his pokemon, and also since he seems to have an affinity for more small, cutesy pokemon, i decided to build my team around that notion u_u although i decided to use entirely different pokemon for the sake of not being redundant--

ddtym9j-0586d79e-006c-4c51-82cf-2f2e8f7freasons under spoiler...

Cubone - secretly a nod to the resident evil AU and having more monstery mutations, BUT-- He adopted a lost Cubone some time after dropping out of college. He planned on giving it away, but it had already become a bit clingy towards him, which he honestly found endearing. He just... wants to protect it. And he will protect it with his life. It is LITERALLY his child. Although, he also wouldn't be opposed to evolving it, just to have some sort of battler on his team "just in case". Not that he has plans to do so any time soon. That, and he's also forgetful about the idea.

Marill - A more boyish pokemon, a flashback to the golden days of being a party boy. It's also one he's had since he dropped out, similar to Cubone. It's earlier designs also presented it as a rounder, pink pokemon. [also i know that bubble tea isn't actually bubbly but ... come on.]

Skitty - okay so he REALLY wanted a Litten to fit into his tiger aesthetic, but instead someone gave him a Skitty since it was more popular. He was a bit disappointed at first, but it quickly grew on him. it's just one of those pokemon that lays in his lap. He likes to cuddle with it while he sleeps.

Cherubi - Time and time again, Rowan debated plucking off the little ball attached to his Cherubi, and it's probably a good thing he hasn't put this thing in his mouth. Especially now, when it's starting to shrivel up, and it's getting closer to evolving. Like with Cubone, he isn't opposed to evolving it, either, and welcomes the idea a bit more, since being a Cherrim would make it more active in the sunlight. While he wouldn't enjoy it luring in insects, he does like the smell that Cherrim gives off.

Deerling - More so it's spring form, but he isn't opposed to its other forms. Deerling is another pokemon he's wanted forever, and it was actually his first, with him catching it while still living in China [decided it was his first since I believe it's based on sika deer? which... you know, are usually found in East Asia]. He uses it mostly to keep track of the weather/temperature, since it changes with even the slightest difference.

Komala - PRETTY OBVIOUS. Rowan likes to sleep. Komala literally has an ability called Comatose. It is born asleep. It dies asleep. It is as affectionate as it can be towards him, though, and will rarely hold onto his arm if it's ever missing its log.

--

for the next poster, if Otto has a pkmn au tab it's preferred that you don't nab ones from his team there, unless you have a reason to--

Benji Olivier Dubois aidenopossum

image0.png

Yamper not pictured because apparently this team builder doesn’t include gen 8???

It’s his doggies as Pokémon...

.....jk lol his real team is under the spoiler:

image0.png

So, I gave Otto all fully evolved Pokémon to sort of coincide with the power that he holds. I went with Honchkrow because the Alkaevs all have that raven pin, and I thought it would only make sense that the head of house Alkaev would have a corvid Pokémon! I chose Honchkrow specifically because they’re ruthless leaders of flocks of Murkrows; they’re even categorized as the Big Boss Pokémon. I couldn’t not pick Honchkrow, really.

Lopunny is cute but also powerful, same with Raichu and Altaria; Altaria has the added bonus of being known for using Sing, and... Otto is a good singer! And the Altaria is mega because... Mega Pokémon... are powerful...

He’s got a Florges because of his affinity for flowers; I could have easily gone for any other flower-based Pokémon here but I felt that Florges fit best, partially because it has fewer weaknesses than most flower Pokémon by virtue of not being a grass type (contributing more to the whole power thing), but also because, to quote Bulbapedia, they devote their lives to protecting gardens!

Finally, Arcanine is here because I had to include a dog Pokémon on his actual team, and Arcanine is a large, powerful looking dog, and Otto prefers large dogs to small dogs.

Yeah.

Oh this team is great? I’m inclined to say that if I ever make a Pokémon AU that I’d... Not give him Giratina lol but otherwise? I might have to take this team verbatim...

... Rip Benji if he ever fights a ground trainer though lol

Hibiki Soma IzayoiHaze

Claim! (there's six under the spoiler I promise)

PKMN_team.png

Gengar: At first I thought "well he's a vampire, maybe a bat pokemon?" but then that seemed too basic... so I went for something else that still followed that sort of theme. Gengar doesn't feed off blood, however its signature move (at least in my mind) is dream eater, so it does feed off dreams instead! Also maybe a bit of a play on the fact he likes Ghost.

Aggron: Okay... another play on the fact that he likes metal music. I tried to look up heavy metal pokemon, which didn't work, but there is the ability heavy metal which Aggron can learn! So Aggron it is. Plus I love this pokemon personally, seemed like a good one to add.

Toxtricity: This one is probably pretty obvious because of the reasons explained above, but I thought it just seemed like a pokemon he'd like? I specifically went with the low-key form because one of his favorite colors is blue.

Houndoom: There's quite a few reasons for this one, but mainly because of his religion! Since Houndoom is basically a hell hound which is associated with well... hell and demons and satan and all that kind of stuff, I thought it would be a fitting pokemon! Plus Houndoom is just cool.

Giratina: I mean... kind of similar to above. Even if it's just fan made up stuff it does have association with satan, is a ghost type, kind of sort of only appears because it gets summoned and for the most part is stuck in the distortion world, but is also the best legendary lets be honest

Gliscor: Yeah okay I know I said giving him a bat pokemon would be basic but like look at this thing it looks perfect! Gliscor could possibly be based on a bat, vampire, and scorpion so you know... it looks like it would be a pretty good pokemon to me! Plus it's ability poison heal could be a vampire-like power idk.

Edit: EAJOIGJAI there's a lot of thought in that it was a joy to read thank u. Pachirisu in particular was a pokemon I hadn't even thought of but I feel like that's a really good one especially because its shiny is... pink ajgiagi. He probably would love cute pokemon a lot!!

Dolores (Human) kafkaesque

Hibiki strikes me as the type of individual who primarily has Pokemon for companionship. maybe he takes them around with him when going on tours, maybe he doesn't. either way, he's fond of them and probably isn't exactly keen on using them for battling. as a result, I can see his team being fairly aesthetic-based; however, he wouldn't care that much about typing. if it looks good, it's part of his team. this has likely resulted in Hibiki accumulating a lot of cute/pretty Pokemon that aren't exactly competitive, but it won't stop him from loving them anyways.

vanilluxe.gifjigglypuff.giffurfrou.gifkricketot.gifludicolo.gifpachirisu.gif

reasons are below the cut as always...

the first Pokemon that sort of came into mind is Vanilluxe, as it's a fairly chill Pokemon (no pun intended) that I can see him using in battles?? reference to his love for food asides, it's admittedly a bit....... out there. he's by no means frigid, nor does he seem like the person to really use Ice types?? nevertheless, it'd be an interesting callback to his fairly relaxed and sweet personality, as I did want to give him a Pokemon based off a sweet to allude to this particular aspect of his character. it, along with Ludicolo, would be among his first Pokemon, which is likely why they're the strongest and most competitive members of his team.

Jigglypuff would definitely be a reference to Hibiki's passion for singing, although he'd probably have to prevent it from singing so that people don't fall asleep sdfyvgsduf- on the other hand, he'd definitely use it as a way for him to sleep after a particularly busy night, although waking up late may not exactly be a desired result of his... at least Hibiki got his beauty sleep in the process? its mischievous personality, at least based off the anime, would also complement Hibiki's energy nicely. on the other hand, though, it'd give him the opportunity to act as the "voice of reason" as he tries to make curb this team member's chaotic tendencies. even then, he'd see it as like a child of his, spoiling it to no end and referring to it with all sorts of pet names.

when I think of fashion, I immediately go for Furfrou. Hibiki likes fashion, so he gets this pooch. the variety of trims available for this species would definitely appeal to him, and I can see him just spending a good portion of his time brushing its fur and pampering it. the former could almost be.... relaxing in a way? its loyalty would also appeal to him, as he seems like the individual to appreciate tight attachments. some of its Pokedex entries also point it as a status symbol, so maybe he got it as a gift from a fan after becoming an idol? it may be a relatively new member, but he probably wouldn't be able to stop touting it about haha.

I initially wanted to go for Kricketune instead of Kricketot, but I ended up going for the latter just because of the cute aspect of it lol. unfortunately, it's also weak as shit, but I don't think that exactly matters since Kricketune isn't that strong either. anyways, Kricketot mainly exists as another reference to his love for music, although this is more general and extends beyond the singing that Jigglypuff covers. I also kinda think Hibiki being given a bug would be a pretty unconventional take on his character, given the stigma surrounding Bug types (aka he'd be pissed if someone talked shit about his cricket child sdjygvyfv).

the last addition to the music-based picks (I promise) is Ludicolo, which is known to dance in correspondence to high-energy music. not only would it coordinate nicely with Hibiki's interest in dancing, but it'd also be a nice shoutout to his carefree and energetic personality!! I wouldn't necessarily say that Ludicolo would be a dance partner of his, but... I can definitely see that dynamic being a thing... maybe Hibiki's desire to see how Ludicolo reacts to different types of music could help him get into different genres of music? variety is the spice of life, after all.

last but not least is Pachirisu, a high-energy and cute Pokemon that Hibiki would mainly keep around as a companion. his high-energy demeanor made me think that he'd have at least one Electric type in his team, and I immediately had to go for the electric squirrel lmao. (I admittedly could've gone for Emolga or Pikachu, but I already used the latter in a different response + its habit of sleeping all curled up objectively makes it cuter in Hibiki's eyes. I can see it sort of acting like a cat in that it'd have this stuck-up but ultimately caring attitude, which could be a foil against Hibiki's outwardly friendly self. its dynamic with him, then, would be fairly similar to that with his Jigglypuff.

@ NP: ik it states in her bio that she might have a preference for Normal and Fairy types, but don't feel compelled to give her only those types!! furthermore, for the sake of this game, try not to include any member of the Lillipup line (Lillipup, Herdier, or Stoutland) unless you can link it to her personality, appearance, etc.!!

---

   - holy fuck?? that Cincinno idea?? I will steal and eat that idea I love it sm ahhhhhh- Pidgey would be an interesting choice, as I actually think she'd be more likely to have a Starly or Pidove for similar purposes (sending messages and the like, though it's bold for me to assume she'd have anyone to send them to at this point), but the idea of it helping her out is 100% cute. 10/10.

the choice that really stood out to me, though, is Pawniard! it's... definitely unexpected for Dolores given that she's super soft and it's pretty rough, but the opposite vibes can definitely make it interesting. maybe she caught one while in Unova and then just... snuck it over after retiring haha. it'd help out with cooking as you said, but... given its humanoid appearance... I'm thinking it could be like... a surrogate/adopted child of sorts... :)c

Laharr Dohmalore

C2nNhnC.png

Dodrio: Diluvi needs a bird and there just Aren't any goose pokemon.  Plus Dodrio's signature tri attack is 3 kinds of elemental damage & that's pretty chaotic.  I think it suits her.

Xatu:  It's GREEN it's BIRD it SEES THE FUTURE.  It's the obvious choice lmao,,  Not sure if she actually owns Xatu, or just goes to it for guidance sometimes

Unown: Again, unsure if she actually owns unown, or if she just watches the movement of swarms of them as a form of augury.  idk i just feel like she would look to pokemon less like pets/things to be commanded and more like...potential mentors.  She has a theme of looking to others for advice in her profile & it seems natural to carry that over.

Espurr(s): honestly just to parallel her canon cats.  She names them after her friends, they hang out in the alley behind her house.

Aipom: IDK IT JUST FELT RIGHT.  vibes with the more playful side of her.  It gets into trouble & she makes excuses for it cuz she thinks it's cute & funny

Aegislash:  honestly any fighting type could probably fill this purpose, but I wanted something to symbolise her odd level of strength/cartoonish violence streak & I thoght BIG SWORD matched the aesthetic of the team better

-----

vvv those are ALL so good damb

Hollow incrediblysincere

Dohmalore

klefki.pngKlefki is my go-to pokemon for rogue or thief characters. It is quite literally a fairy ring of keys, which not only ties into the rogue side of Laharr, but his magical past as well. hatterene.png

I thought Hatterene would be a good reference to his familiar/hat, and as a bonus, it is the colour of the trans flag! Hatterene can also learn Heal Pulse, as a reference to Laharr's healing abilities.

omastar.png

I wanted to include a fossil pokemon for the themes of extinction and resurrection. I wasn't sure which until I realised that the real-world folklore of Lord Helix Omastar was a good reference to the mystery and folklore surrounding Laharr and his past!

sableye.png

Sableye is here, mostly because it's another one that makes me think of rogues and thieves, but also because of one of its Pokedex entries from the anime: "Sableye's jeweled eyes shine with an eerie light that can strike fear into the spirits of living beings." This sort of reminded me of your description of the "Reflections of Nothing" in Laharr's eyes. Also I thought I should give you a shiny, and its colour scheme seemed appropriate.

impidimp.png

Impidimp is another Pokemon associated with theft and mischief! Nothing particularly deep here I just like it.

xerneas-active.png

And finally, Xerneas! Xerneas has the power to share eternal life! This seemed appropriate for Laharr and is one of my favourite legendaries (I like gen 6, can you tell?)
