What role would the above OC play in a video game?

Just as the title says, this is a game where you take a look at the oc above your post and come up with the role they might play in a video game!

Here are a few things to remember while you're playing:

  • I shouldn't have to say this more than once, but please be respectful of one another.
  • Put some effort into what you're going to say. I'm sure that the other person will appreciate it!
  • If you're going to write something rather long, you may want to claim the post above you, just in case.
  • You can post once for every other three posts. If the thread hasn't moved in 24 hours, you may post before this.
  • NEW ** As of February 27th, please be sure to write more than one sentence. We want to see your imagination run!
  • NEW ** Also as of February 27th, make sure to give the character's profile a read - it helps in forming your assumption of their role! It also shows that you've thought about your answer, and everyone appreciates it. If there isn't anything to their profile and they merely have visuals, disregard this. :)

But how do I play?

  • Though this game might seem somewhat difficult, it's actually quite the opposite!
  • All you have to do is look at the above oc and come up with their role in a video game.
  • Here are some questions you might want to ask yourself if you're stumped: "Are they a protagonist, antagonist, NPC, boss, party member, etc? What genre of video game might they belong in? Do they have any particular movesets? Do they serve a special purpose? Do they do something special in-game?"

Here's an example:

  • Person 1: What kind of video game character would characterA be?
  • Person 2: They look really buff and strong-willed, so they might be the protagonist! I could see them in some fantasy setting, like a noble knight trying to save a princess or something? They look like they could carry around really heavy weapons, and can pack a punch, so I'd say they're the heavy-hitter of the team.

Bo-ra spacecadet

Halcyon seems like a villain at start who would really not want to hurt the player, and later on you can get him to help your team :)

 Taro Watanabe (渡辺 立楼) Milkweed

Halcyon has a really nice design. I can imagine him working in the apothecary. He'd probably be someone you meet in the second town -- kind of eerie and haunting, the person you speak to when you're just starting to figure out the shape and scope of your quest. You're not really sure how the potions work yet and you haven't accumulated enough funds to buy everything, so you're left trying to decipher the storekeeper's slightly cryptic statements. There's definitely a story behind the storekeeper's life, but you're never going to learn it.

[EDIT] WHOOPS I was too slow. I'm going to leave this here anyway and claim Yeon Bo-ra.

Ok wow I love her. Okay. I think she'd probably be the NPC who you pick up about 10% of the way into your quest and who follows you everywhere you go. She has an important ability but it's sort of hard to activate. At first you're kind of like "??" because she makes your life more difficult and the animation is sliiightly glitchy so sometimes blocks you into corners but as the game goes on you get to hear more of her backstory in bits and pieces and just listen to her talk about herself in between combat. By the end of the game you're basically ready to die for her. (Possibly the game gives you this option, but she does something unexpectedly heroic so you both get a happy ending anyway.)

Dylan looks like he would be the protagonist of a cute indie isometric game. A very bright game with maybe some darker undertones? Has turn-based combat and in order to stock up on certain potions and such, you have to follow a loose-ruled minigame where you mix certain ingredients you pick up throughout the adventure!

Chiyoko spacecadet

He looks like a character who'd be kind of bother and you have to help him to help you basically, like he won't let you pass until you listen to him sing and ramble for a while and then he'd show you the way out of the forest!

Frederick Waltz PicklePantry

Nila is an NPC in an adventure game that's not open world. She's seen midway through the game, in an area the protag has to pass through, and will let them pass only if they help her with a quest (maybe like finding out who accused her of being a witch or finding a lost trinket of hers). She's a quirky character that would have a lot of easter egg commentary if you show her the right items.

Her design also makes me think of Professor Layton .w.

 Fiorlen Mariette

Frederick is definitely a very suspicious character in his video game (maybe a Phoenix Wright style game) who is pretending to investigate suspicious murders in the area while actually getting rid of all the evidence pinning him to the crime and feeding the protag false information so someone else will be framed. The protag (and the player), of course, is none the wiser. He later becomes the center of a bunch of fan theories across  gaming forums (like GameFAQs and such) where people are actually suspecting him of being behind the murders, and dataminers confirm it when they pull fragments of a conversation he has with the protag where he basically admits to being behind all the murders, but there's no information on his fate because most of the data was deleted before the game was formally published.

Jung spacecadet

Fiorlen I think would be the protagonist of the game, relying on strength to be a brutal attacker. As a final attack they can transform into their dragon form, but this only lasts a short period of time and is detrimental on their already slow speed stats.

Zakhar Markov hoodiebabe

Jung would be the character in a game that you see wandering around, she sometimes steals things from encampments of the main character and often has to be chased down- she is very speedy though so tactic plans have to be used.
She can often be found just by the player turning around and seeing her peeking out from behind a tree or hiding in a bush- seeking her out often results in a faint laugh and a rustle from her running away- trying to entice the player into chasing her.
Be careful though, she is an easily corruptable character- chasing her enough often results in her suddenly turning the game into the player being chased.

Hypo MaplesHaiku

I think Danny Rose would be an NPC that gives advice on how to defeat one specific boss (perhaps one that looks similar to him, but not exactly) in an adventure game. He would be found just outside the area where you fight the boss.

Chiyoko spacecadet

Hypo would be one of those helpful ghost guide NPCs. Kind of like Gus from Epic Mickey in a way. He's your guide, but you can't play as him. He's always there with you to help you out but sometimes it's inconvenient as he only pops up during cutscenes. He is the one telling you where to go and what to do next.

Silva Blanc Mochagatari

Chiyoko seems kind of the type to be a protagonist, where the game would be about helping her become an idol and maybe get closer to her crush! She sounds like she'd fit into a rhythm game or visual novel. Or maybe she could be a character in a game that you can switch to play her route in a bigger story, if that makes sense.

Dr. Decius PicklePantry

Silva's the type you'd see in Bendy and the Ink Machine. Maybe she'd be her own chapter, or maybe part of one, but she'd definitely play an important role as antagonist. With her love for mayhem, she'd constantly mess with the protagonist when he's trying to find or fix something. The longer it goes on, the crazier Silva's meddling gets.
