So Erratic's design is good, but I feel it could have a few changes for the better.

What could I do to make her design more pleasing to the eye? If it looks fine, perhaps some clothing suggestions could help?

i'm here to give you clothing advice that you will hate because i am the worst at fashion. i've been wearing the same torn things for years because i like to think i look like the coolest guy in town. BUT erratic's personality makes me feel as if she'd really like more freestyle and free clothes. dresses, skirts, those things just don't strike me as her sort of gig.

i think you should give her, first of all, a crop top. something that might be torn a little? i think she should show off her green body and let the color speak more loudly than clothing, because it's such a nice color. a few belts might be cool and boots. boots are a must for someone as sassy and dramatic as she is.

as far as her design right now? i think it looks fine! i recognize her immediately and think her hair style is lovely. plus her ears are super cute and the horns are great too! she's just really good to me! though maybe you could give her a scar somewhere if you really want? like on the nose or something? since she is pretty stage-like, she might've gotten hurt doing something for attention before?

damedanbo Thank you for the all the questions! :) I will try to sit down and write responses out for them all after I get off work tomorrow. I’m going to bed for the night. I will most likely pm you, seeing as it’s going to be long and I can’t use spoiler because I’m on mobile.

I have questions about the world lore that might help you, but I’ll do my best to phrase some of them as… not-questions.

I think it would be helpful to expand on the differences between the Laokan and Naoka tribes. I know there are physical differences, but what else? Besides Naokas being able to reverse evil spirit effects, and Laokans being corruptible, Laokans being proficient with weapons, and the two tribes having different shrine duties… I want to know what their tribes or their tribe members look like, when they’re not fighting evil spirits.

Do their lives revolve entirely around taking care of the shrine and forest, or are there things that they do besides that? I’m talking about hobbies, family stuff, relaxation. Do they have “traditional” family structures? Nuclear families? Do they all live together as a big family? Why do they have animal features, and why those specific animals? Where are all these evil spirits coming from and why do they appear mostly in the center of the forest? And besides just dying and becoming evil spirits, I’d be curious to know how humans factor into this. Do they avoid the forest and shrine altogether, or are there humans around the area? And do all Loakan and Naoka tribe members do their duties diligently, or are there those that want to leave and become human?

Additionally, I think it would be interesting to see a force besides the evil spirits--a plague, a drought, a blight, a human war, something that pushes the Laokan and Naoka tribes from both sides.

Apologies if I’ve missed anything, I’m exhausted.

Next person, I have begun working on my Funkplanet folder again, and I want to figure out clothing for Nana! He usually ends up without any clothes because I can’t figure out what to dress him in. If he does get clothes, it’s either a plain t-shirt or something memetic. I have an easier time with his sisters. Basically… how do I dress this bad oni in something iconic? What clothes would you put him in?

I think she's fine honestly, but in life everyone goes through rough experiences, maybe go more into detail about something she struggled with when younger or something, and talk about how it affects her now, and how she copes with it?

A few deeper understanding of this character relationship with money? and maybe different ways they handle it that is unhealthy..

^ I Feel like, because of her family's financial situation, Charlotte always felt like there was never going to be "enough" to go around. Her parents were upfront and clear about their money problems, and so she was always anxious that she wouldn't be able to have things.

As a result, she has an unhealthy shopping addiction, spending money she doesn't have on things she doesn't need. Money is disposable to her, leaving her pockets as soon as she gets it, and she then struggles to pay for things she actually needs.

Next person... Haruko's brother died two years ago, when he was ten. Or twelve. Or fourteen. I can't decide how old to make this kid! The story has elements of past abuse and trauma, between Haruko's brother Sekki, and Sekki's ex boyfriend, so I feel like I should be leaning towards him being older, but I can never figure it out. It's hard to pin down how to write him when I can't figure out how old he is! He ends up feeling too young for the story, and for the characters around him... How old is this brat?!

I really like the idea of Leroy being a child too. Since she has the mentality of a 7-8 y/o I think it would be fairly appropriate for that to be her age as well! Her youngness wouldn't understate her depth. Kids tend to be victims of circumstances because they have little to no control over their situations. Though more extreme, this narrative fits with Leroy's backstory!

Maybe she saw something (such as a death). Maybe she was in a near-death experience and it taught her to be more careful. Or maybe she lost a friend because they didn't like her ways.

I don't feel like he would pick up a very grandiose job, and it'd probably be part time if he is still in high school at this point.

Maybe a fast food employee or a janitor for a supermarket?

Things that could trigger this characters breaking point? Things that make them go against their own standards?

Depending on when you want this breaking point to transpire...

The first thing that screams "potential breaking point" to me is actually her trucking job. If she reaches her breaking point after getting this job: Maybe she was in an accident or pile up, barely survived, and suffers PTSD as a result? (Speaking for myself, my accident and PTSD made a looot of my personality and standards change.)

If what you're looking for is a breaking point before she gets away from her parents: It definitely seems like it would have to be something the parents did. Maybe JV could ignore the way she was treated, since she put so much energy into being agreeable for them--but maybe she couldn't take the mistreatment of another family member, a sibling or something? Maybe her family tore her down for something that she was genuinely very proud of, or destroyed it in front of her. Was JV super athletic, and her parents pulled her out of the big sports meet at the last second; maybe she was super artistic and her parents destroyed her art. Last idea, let's finish strong: I see in her dislikes that she hates being grabbed by the arm, or hitting gestures, even joking. This is making me think "someone hit her, probably a lot" and maybe she snapped and defended herself, or someone else from that abuse.
