it's the dad thread, for dads

Posted 6 years, 11 months ago (Edited 6 years, 10 months ago) by Hadris Torant Isoprene

Today's Father's Day in America, so what better excuse to make a thread showing off all the dads of Toyhouse? Show off your dad OCs here! You can just drop 'em off and leave, talk about their relationships with their family, say how they feel about fatherhood, whatever you want!

Good dads, horrible dads, dad joke dads (which can be good or horrible depending on your sense of humor,) dads that are just kinda there in the background but still have a profile, adoptive dads, step-dads, godfathers, non-binary dads, dead dads, dads whose status as a dad is a spoiler... as long as they're a parental unit who identifies with dadliness, this is the thread for them! And, don't worry, you can keep posting in this thread once Father's Day is over!

Be sure to black out any discussion of abuse, particularly vicious death, and any other particularly unsavory things as such!: This dad........ DOESN'T LIKE TIES!!!!

I got plenty more dads, but I only have profiles for a couple!:

Hadris is the adoptive father of Valence, having picked her up from a dead world he was conquering. He's the epitome of stereotypical dadliness. He makes dad jokes, calls Valence (and even people who aren't his kids, honestly) things like "kiddo" and "sport," and always appreciates getting ties on Father's Day. He might be an all-conquering evil overlord, but he's a pretty good dad even though he and Valence had a rough patch during her rebellious teenage years.

Laejizhar (icon and gallery contain body horror/gore due to his nature as a walking mass of viscera) is the father of Baldasarre, who really needs a profile literally anywhere since he's a character I've RPed with quite a few times. But I digress! He abandoned his son at a young age due to being unable to cope with the death of his wife, focusing instead on his career. As time went on, though, his guilt grew and he sought to repair his relationship with Baldasarre. Unfortunately, when he returned home he found that Baldasarre had developed the same disease that took his wife's life, and even with all of the technology Laejizhar's wealth can afford he knows Baldasarre's time is limited. He's effectively retired to spend the rest of his years dedicated to taking care of his son, ensuring his comfort, trying to make up for lost time, and searching for a cure for Baldasarre's disease so that he can have even more time with him.

Laejizhar's a pretty loving and caring dad who's taken a page from his friend Hadris. He's more reserved than Hadris, however, and though he tries to hide it it's easy to tell how guilty he feels and how much regret still weighs him down. Baldasarre treats him pretty coldly and always acts distantly toward his father, which makes things difficult. Laejizhar knows, however, that it's his fault for abandoning his son when he needed him, so he's patient and willing to take his time in earning Baldasarre's trust back. Please enjoy this high-quality image of family bonding.

And... oh, uh... guess that's... all my uploaded dads... man I really gotta upload more people here... profiles are effort, though, so just enjoy those two dads for now!

Gray Allard graystreet003

Here's another one.
He does not have children canonically, but he has a fatherly side and would do a good job with kids. He's especially good with kids and always liked the thought of having one, a paternal instinct.
He's just ''a dad''.

Pride [Bakari] JayBird375

No biological children, but seems to have adopted a full class of sophomores the first year he became a PE teacher.
He’s a good dad. He always tries to help his kids pass to the chagrin of their home room teacher, and he would never hurt one of his kids to push them.
Despite being a global celebrity and an accomplished hero with thousands of fights under his belt, he has a student shaped soft spot for his “son’s” class.
He is my fursona Kuro’s mentor and goes out of his way to parent him. Kuro is oblivious to Pride’s American style fatherly affection, but their American exchange students definitely notice.

 Lucifer Doresuaan

Lucifer likes to take care of Oliver and Vmanean like children! :> always spoiling them--- xD

 Liem Nashatia

single dad, who is proud of all 5 of his pups.

Aaravos not a single dad, but damn proud of his two pups!

Sunlocke

Know what's cooler than one dad? Two dads. They just keep accidently adopting human kids who get abandoned in their woods.

There's also these two (non couple) dads of a little found family.

And Beau, well, he's a father figure even if he won't admit it.

Haranchi Durga amymist

Haranchi! Husband of Carecana, and dad to Nunca, Maya, and Samantha.

He's a manticore (in a setting where that basically just means 'shapeshifter')

He's kind of a quiet guy, very serious, but very passionate in his way. He's a very good shoulder to cry on, who cares very deeply about his family.

bloodstained

warren is a horrible person and even worse father. sawyer is sorta a father figure to their younger brother harper, as they raised him after he ran away from home

melodiemori

Bassy, Fjord, and Max are all together (with Harry but Harry isn't mine, they're in a poly relationship) and they have like... ohh idk 30 kids? Some adopted, some Harry had himself (Harry is trans). Don't question it, they've been living for hundred of years (minus Max). Bassy is the dad who will snuggle his kids, Fjord gives them forehead kisses goodnight, and Max is.. still learning, he's a new addition to the family and in rp terms is currently in the mental hospital so he can't be there rn (also because of how he was raised, he has issues with yelling at his son Calypso but he feels TERRIBLE about it)

Flynn is one of their many kids and he has a little girl. He's a silly, loving, extremely kind and compassionate (albeit EXTREMELY weird) dad, tho being a bartender he's not around as much as he would LIKE to be

And Blaise USED to be a dad. Slight warning for death, nothing detailed! He was an extremely loving, protective father and he adopted Fala because he knew that due to her disabilities, she would have a tougher time being adopted. He loves her and misses her dearly, and he spent about 3 months (weeks?) looking for her when she went missing... and killed her killer as well. He wants his baby back : (

 Flip littlest_bugz

THIS GUY RIGHT HERE!! He has three children, two from previous relationships and one with his wife-- He takes care of and loves all his kids. Two of them are adults, and one of them is a kid. Kind of an ass to most people but DEF not his kids. He's from one of my books so I really could go on forever LOL

◇ Offer ◇ banjohymns

a cool cowboy dad! he's the bio dad of Joey and step-dad of Arcade n they all have a very close family bond. he likes doin all kinds of fun stuff with his kids, like fishin trips, camping, beach days, etc.. he's a very intelligent, chill guy but also has a goofy component to his personality. i mean, he's just . . a dad, y'know?

i also have Fr. McCarthy! he's the adoptive father of his bestfriend's 8 yo, wise-beyond-his-years son. given his bestie is a selkie and she lives in the sea 90% of the time, she can't exactly care for a human kid properly, so that's the situation! he loves his son. a very grumpy but supportive n protective dad.

Vati Krause brightxyes

i have a few, but how much more dad are ya gunna get than literally being named dad in German? Vati has been alive for a long long time, longer than he can remember. He had a daughter once, and severely screwed thing up with her and his wife. After wallowing for a chunk of time, he decided to use his strength in the medical field to help less fortunate children. Eventually he ended up as a school nurse, and is the dad of any student that cares to have him as their dad. While not official, he also offers counselling and advice to students. The type of dad to ruffle your hair and call ya sport.
