[TWWM] Those Connected by Fate

Location: India (Early Autumn)

Flynn flitted around for a spell before settling onto the sand next to Kaito. It seemed a sharp contrast, the tiny brightly colored excitable esk, next to a large, black and white esk who's aura seemed intensely calm and relaxed. Kaito just rested, feeling how everything had changed. He lifted a paw again, examining the soft furred toes. Flynn spoke again, directly into his mind.
"You can feel it, yes?"
"Feel...I think...maybe?"
"The spirit realm. You are part of it now. You can feel nature, the earth, the plants and animals. You can speak with your mind and explore the world anew."
Kaito turned, peering down at the tiny esk. They seemed to be quite childish, but they carried great knowledge. He decided to learn all that he could from them.
"I feel that I can sense...this garden. Before, as a human, I used this place to relax, to meditate. But now...I feel that... this place is calm. Its spirit is calm."
Flynn nodded, "This place is calm indeed. It is part of you, I sense that you could connect even further to this place, if you wanted to."
"Even further?" a shiver tickled down Kaito's spine. "How?"
"Well...try what you did before. Try to relax and meditate perhaps?"
He nodded, "Alright." Clearing his mind, he let his shoulders slump gently, pressing his toes softly into the sand and breathing calmly. He found that he could not close his eyes, but it didn't bother him. As he fell inward, into meditation, they unfocused and he felt his vision empty into nothingness, as if he was being swallowed by the night sky. It felt intensely calm, soothing... he imagined being cradled by nature itself, washed by the waters in the pool below him. He heard the gentle trickle of water falling from the fountain, it trickled and gurgled into his mind, rushing around him, pulling him upward, until suddenly, he awoke.
His eyes refocused and he glanced down, Flynn was still sitting there on the sand beside him. "How...How long was I gone?"
"About five minutes, i could feel your spirit's calm, it was very good!" Flynn nodded towards him, pointedly.
Kaito squinted at him, "Why are you..." he nodded again, tilting his head towards Kaito's back. "You seemed to have connected to the fountain pretty well." Flynn chuckled.
Turning, Kaito's eyes widened. A smooth overflow fountain basin sat, nestled into the fur on his back. A soft blue light poured from it. "Oh!"
Flynn giggled again, floating up to examine the bowl. "You're really good at this!"
Kaito inhaled deeply, feeling more at peace than ever before. "This is...thank you Flynn. Thank you so very much. Being a part of this... this incredible realm, this is...I can't even express..."
"Its okay, there is one other thing I want to help you understand before I go." Flynn said, cutting to the point suddenly. "Because I can sense it, but you can't yet and Its very important!"
"Oh? What is it?"
"You are able to sense other esks, as we are part of the spirit realm as well." Flynn floated near to Kaito's face again. "You may not realize it, but I have an aura, you can feel me here, sort of like... a mix between a memory and a smell..."
"Alright..." Kaito said, focusing his senses towards the little esk.
"Be careful! If you focus too hard on something, you might transform it, you must be careful about when to use that power. But yes, feel my aura, and then..." Flynn floated away from him, out of the garden and down the street. He spoke to Kaito's mind still. "Can you sense me still? Can you feel where I am?"
Kaito calmed his mind, softly exploring the area around him with his mind. "I...I can! You're... you went up the road, I can feel where you are, even though I can't see you."
He floated back, coming nearly in contact with Kaito's nose. "There is someone that I can sense. They are a great distance away, but I feel that you may be interested in them. You might be able to feel them too, if you really try."
"Someone?"
Flynn nodded slowly, and Kaito's eyes widened, he felt an intense rush of excitement and nervousness wash over him.
"Cosette?" he whispered, the name seemed so ... so very far away.

Flynn nodded again and backed away. "I think it might be her... only you would know."

Kaito felt like he was holding his breath, his mind raced, was she out there? Could he find her in this new form? Would she recognize him? Was she hurt? How far away was she?
"Kaito." Flynn snapped him out of the panic his mind had fallen into. "You can find her, but you must retain that amazing sense of calm, you can do this."

"Okay...I'll try." he said, clearing his mind. Desperation and fear threatened to creep into his heart again, but he blocked them out. "Cosette... my love... where are you?"
