Viola5- Sauvi's Viola

Location: France

It seemed so surreal. Twyla and Viola scampered around the courtyard, jabbering about things Viola had never seen, but their thoughts faded into soft murmurs as Sauvi focused inwards.

"Could it really be that simple?" she felt so many emotions, it seemed like a swirling rush of excitement. She found herself feeling a bit overwhelmed. Could everything be over? Just like that? Thoughts raced through her mind, the months of fear, and pain. The guilt she had carried for so long for the way she'd treated not only Twyla, but Kaito, she felt selfish and ... and..

A familiar voice rumbled into her mind as Kaito's calming presence billowed up beside her. "Shhhh, its alright, its all okay." He could sense the rush of emotions she was dealing with. "Tell me whats troubling you."

It took a moment to put it into words, but she finally found them. "I just... I didn't think it would be this simple. I feel... so strange. Its like... every worry I've ever had is just...gone."
"You feel empty?" he asked, worried.
"No, not really. I feel almost like..."
He interrupted, "You've been hurting so long, did you forget what it feels like to just...be happy?"
She turned, looking at his warm soft face, his expression comforted her, or was it his tranquility enchantment perhaps? Either way she was grateful for his presence.
"I...maybe?"
"Its alright. You can learn to relax and be happy, look at the joy you've caused today!" He gestured at the two smaller esks playing happily together. "Not all esks feel the pain you have, its okay to take a chance."
Sauvi watched Viola playing, exploring her new world. "You're right. I am happy." she let herself relax, leaning against Kaito. He smelled like the forest, the water trickling down over his mosses created a damp earthy smell.  "Thank you Kai."
"For what?"
"For being here for me."
"Always"

Twyla and Viola scampered across the cobblestones, Viola bounded with tiny leaps, tripping, she spun out of control, rolling along on the side of her cup. She floated back onto her legs giggling.
"Sauvi! Look!" she peeped excitedly rushing past her.
"What?"
"Look look!" giggling, she leaned against Sauvi's grape tail, catching the stream of wine in the cup on her back. "Ha ha ha!" she laughed, prancing in a circle, sloshing the purple liquid everywhere. "This is fun."
Sauvi squinted at her, joy in her eyes. "You're fun!"
"Me!?" she squirmed in mock bashfulness. "Awwww. I'm happy." she stared up at Sauvi, her tiny slender face peering like a cream colored snake. "Thank you Sauvi. I like being a spirit."

--

Evening crept upon the little patio, and Twyla bid everyone farewell, she wanted to return to her peony bush and rest. As the little esk floated away, Viola stretched, arching her cup-laden back and curling her neck.
"Are you tired too little one?" Sauvi asked, eyes lit by soft motes of light that danced around her.
"A little, yeah."
"If you'd like, we can go explore the town more now, and let you rest!" Sauvi said, nudging the tiny cup with her snout.
"Hmm. I like your company, but a bit of rest and time to think would be nice I think!" Viola said cheerfully.
"That sounds nice. We'll see you later then!"
"Okay!"

She watched them leave through the alley and heard a soft rustling, Kaito's silver leaves rushed up to meet the sky as he grew. "Oh!" she said, surprised. "They got big! haha!"

As they walked away, a peaceful quiet fell over the patio, along with shadows that climbed over everything. The sunset warmed the air in an orange glow.
Viola scampered across the cobblestone and faded through the wall of the café, floating quickly through it and coming to rest on the front windowsill. She wanted to see if Sauvi had grown too. She had! "Oh wow!"

In the soft orange sunset light, she watched them walking down the road, chatting with each other.
"Sauvi is so kind and gentle. I want to be like that." Viola thought to herself. She turned away from the window, noticing the café interior she'd rushed through. It was quite nice, small and tidy, with warm friendly colors.
Viola felt at home, and very peaceful. On the far wall, she saw a beautifully organized stack of shelves. They were clean and white, with beautiful cups and plates lined up along them. It was perfect! Floating over, she sat down on the shelf and curled her little neck around the base of the cup, looking quite like the other teacups that sat on the shelf. She drifted off to sleep, lulled by the quiet café sounds of tinking glass and coffee dripping gently. As she fell into a dream-state, she thought, "Maybe someday I'll have something of my own to put into my cup..."
A smile in her heart, she rested.
