RevelriE - Prompts and Submissions

Everything was so, so loud, I don’t know how others can stand it. It’s definitely not my cup of tea. It’s only the morning, around 10, and everything is already in full swing. Even the speech Lian gave earlier was rather… excitable to the crowd of RevelriE that gathered around to hear it.
“Hello, the RevelriE (and non-RevelriE, if you’re here) of Lutz! I (he means we, Calliope and I; Lian didn’t do much)  am here to present to you the hard work that is the Summertime Splash event! Each day of the festival presents different activities for all to do, with great rewards for completion! That’s uh… (he looked down at his script) about it. Thank you for participating in the event. I hope that you all have fun and make eventful memories about these few days! Note: Say it with- Oh I don’t think I was supposed to say that. But have fun, everyone!” Calliope wrote that script, and I had to fix nearly everything about it…

I went to see the small club-stand Hana and Kaoru were stationed at, since I’m assuming that most would be watching the show Amie and Roslynn were performing on stage. Unfortunately, I was terribly wrong, and the line towards the stand was absolutely lengthy; it was hard to even move with so many RevelriE everywhere. But I have wings, and even if my wings can’t fly, I have technology Omen gave to me earlier. It’s a special flying gadget they were developing, and I was in the neighbourhood, so I decided to pick it up for a test ride. I turned it on, and managed to quickly zip over to the start of the line. Now I can see why the line was so long. It’s him…

“I would like, hmm… how much boba tea will last me the entire day?” He seemed to be deep in thought, tapping his chin. Hana seemed slightly annoyed by this, but Kaoru just lightly patted her on the back, and she lost all trace of potential frustration. “I will take… if 3 boba teas last me one hour, then that should mean… today would be around 10 hours… so 3 times 10 would be 30… Divide that by the 6 different flavours… I got it! Sorry for taking so long.” Most of the crowd behind him and I were just rolling their eyes at him. “I would like 5 black teas, 5 matcha, 5 jasmines, 5 mangoes, 5 taros, and I’ll take one of the daily specials. All boba teas, by the way.” Yes, it’s Yohan and his boba tea addiction. I could hear Kaoru say a faint “coming right up!” in the background, and the two started working really efficiently (I really mean it, I guess that’s why they were chosen? I heard they were also really popular). After the two started working for a bit, filling not one, not two… not 30, but 31 different cups of boba, they put it in a very large bag. Sometimes I wonder how one carries so much, but Yohan just left to the sides while the entire line breathed a huge sigh of relief. I went over to him.

“Hello there, Yohan! I should've known the huge line was because of you… How did you order so many bubble teas?” I asked. He didn’t look up as he started unpackaging the daily special and taking it out.

“Hrm… Today, I had a lot of stardust on me, so I went out to get some boba tea… Woah, this stuff is good! I need to go get more after…” he told me. Yohan must really like bubble teas, so I decided not to bother him more while he was enjoying it. 

“Have a good day, Yohan! Be sure to check out the other stands and activities too… Hana and Kaoru may get annoyed seeing you pop up every few hours to order… how much was it? 31 bubble teas.” I said back to him, leaving to check up on Hana and Kaoru. The line shortened quite a lot since I last saw it. That’s good to know, so as the last customer left, I was easily able to go talk to Hana and Kaoru. 

“Whew, that was a lot of work. Preparing 31 boba teas was exhausting, and then a bunch of customers came after him too…” Hana said in a tired tone. “At least now I can whip up something for myself.” She quickly left to start the boba tea machine.

“Don’t worry about her,” Kaoru told me, “she’s going to be fine… How is it at the other stands and activities? Surely it can’t be more busy than this.” I thought about it a bit. Fui was running the balloon darts stand, since that was popular earlier in the year; I don’t think it’s that crowded over there. Wasn’t there a RevelriE named Claire? I think she was running a small stand related to clockwork and old-fashioned technology. Lian’s friend, Hana and Omen, were probably somewhere instructing how to tear down a mainframe and hack into basic security sites. And the library is sure to be filled with reading activities, ran by Bibliosmia and maybe Ena. I don’t know much about Ena, he just does things in Lutz.

“I’m somewhat sure that this spot is the busiest… While the activity lanes are still filled with RevelriE, I think many come here to watch Amie and Roslynn’s performance.” I saw Hana come back with three bubble teas (they were all the daily special). She quickly handed one over to Kaoru and gave one to me. For my hard work in making this happen, Hana said. I took a sip, and now I think I know why Yohan likes this so much. I thanked the two and wished them good luck before leaving.

Since Roslynn and Amie were right around the corner, I decided to pay them a quick visit before checking in on everything else. The music was loud, and RevelriE were everywhere cheering, but luckily I found my way through the crowd and next to the stage entrance. There was a red RevelriE that seemed to be walking around searching for something, and then I immediately recognized her as Sinthus.

“Sinthus! Over here!” I screamed over the crowd. I don’t know if she heard me, but she turned around and ran towards me. 

“Oh, thank goodness, I found you! I was looking around the stage in case there was someone who could help me, but none! Nobody! But you’re here now… Would you mind helping me? I saw that there was a signup sheet to go on stage, but when I checked the time it was already past the meetup date. Since you’re a manager, do you think I could still get a spot?” To be honest, I didn’t know how to answer Sinthus’ question, so I just told her to wait until Amie and Roslynn finished this performance.

“I’ll get them and ask about it, alright?” I said. She nodded, and after the act was over, I went up to the two. “Hey Roslynn, hey Amie! How are you? Hope the performances aren’t wearing you down too much.”
“Oh, don’t worry, sweetheart, we’re just getting warmed up. It’s not even that good of a performance, but everyone down there seems to like it.” She shook herself slightly, stretching after that. 

“Yep! I’m trying my best though, this is sort of my first time doing this, but Roslynn is teaching me so many cool moves!” exclaimed a rather excited Amie. 

“Roslynn, Amie, would you mind if Sinthus joins you on your next act? She missed the signups but has been wanting to go ever since she saw the poster.” I looked behind me to check if Sinthus was still there. “Sinthus? If you’re still there, would you mind coming up to meet Roslynn and Amie?” Sinthus was still there, fortunately, and immediately came up.

“Oh, uh… I think you already know, but, do you mind if I join you on stage? I would love to perform with you! If you would like to see my skills first, I’ll actually be glad-” Roslynn suddenly interjected. 

“Of course, we’ll be glad to have you on stage! You’re Sinthus, the well-known dancer in Lutz! So, obviously, we’re going to let you join.” The three talked for a while about dance moves, possible performances, and other dance-related things, before Amie noticed that I was going back down the stairs.

“Aren’t you dancing with us?” she asked. I didn’t want to just say no, so I quickly explained that I have to survey over the entire festival to make sure everything is going well. The three were a bit upset that I couldn’t dance with them, but when I told them I would when I found time, I’ll come back to dance. Since I spent quite a long time in that area, and with the time already being 2, I quickly activated the flying gadget and went over to the activity lanes. Since there was a large crowd of RevelriE everywhere, I couldn’t exactly pinpoint where the stands were, so I just flew down in an empty space. Most stands were overcrowded with people, so I tried my best to look over their heads and see what the stand was about. Then I saw one stand that stood out: there weren’t that many RevelriE crowded around it. Since I didn’t want the RevelriE running that one to feel bad, I walked over. The RevelriE, I noticed, was Claire and her stand of mechanical devices. 

“Claire? Is everything good over there?” I asked, trying my best to sound neutral. Claire just nodded yes, but I could tell that she wasn’t good. After all, if everyone’s stand but yours got attention, how would you feel? I tried my best to comfort her, saying that maybe some people just don’t understand the beauty of olden things. She seemed to feel a bit better after that, and I agreed to buy her something from the delicious food stands.

Since the time was ticking, and I didn’t eat anything for lunch, I decided to quickly finish the daily checkup of the event. Too bad, as I was walking, Lian had to show up. 

“How’s it going, Prisma? Has the daily checkup been wearing you out?” Sometimes, I swear that Lian put a tracker on me or something. He always seems to find me, no matter where I am.

“Yes, it’s tiring,” I admit. “I’m currently heading over to Fui’s stand, then I think I’ll check the library if the day hasn’t ended yet. We’ll arrange the night activities, and I will go to sleep. Tell Calliope to be on watch during the night, and that all activities close at 10. Some food and drink stands can remain open.” I yawned, and I slowly made my way with Lian over to Fui’s stand: balloon darts.

“This is similar to my desk work, you know? Always tiring. But at least you get to meet more RevelriE and make friends while enjoying the snacks and drinks. This right here is the pain, haha!” His laugh is as good as ever. The crowd around Fui’s stand still hadn’t died down yet, so Lian initiated his super Lian powers and got everyone into an orderly fashion. Fui seemed relieved when everything was getting sorted out. 

“Wow, thank you. The line was getting less of a line and more of a polygon, a big mess. Even though it wasn’t that bad, it was hard to keep track of this. Here, I’ll let you two do three free shots at the balloons!” Fui exclaimed happily. Lian completely missed his first two shots, since he was aiming at the smallest balloon, however, he did end up hitting it on his last try. 

“Perseverance and persistence! You see, if you don’t stop aiming at it, you’ll get it in the end!” I don’t really get what Lian was talking about, but he was given a bubble tea from Fui and accepted it happily. When it was my turn to shoot, I managed to hit a smaller one on my first try, missed my second, and hit a big balloon on my third. I also got a bubble tea, albeit smaller than Lian’s. I thanked Fui, and quickly ran over to Claire’s stand, where there was a RevelriE standing outside.

“Claire, here, I got you something!” I handed her the small bubble tea. The RevelriE that was there didn’t seem to mind, and continued admiring the work. I don’t recognize this RevelriE, their long, golden-brown hair with gilded black shard horns. I was about to ask them their name but when he looked at me, he quickly thanked Claire and walked away. Such a strange RevelriE; I’ll have to ask Lian later. Lian soon came, and as I walked away, I can see Claire smile for the first time that I’ve seen. With Lian, we quickly finished checking the rest of activities, but we didn’t go to the library since we assumed Nycti and Bibliosmia were taking good care of it. I asked Lian about the strange RevelriE, but Lian only shrugged and said that it was usual Ena behaviour, nothing weird or unusual. While I’ve never seen Ena before, he seems familiar, in a sense. I tried not to dwell on it, though, as we got our dinner from a massive array of fancy foods provided by the chefs. The food was delicious, but as we finished, we saw Magpie and Arathorn by the sides. Of course, Lian went in for it.

“Arathorn~ Magpie~ How are you~?” Lian teased. “I hope you’re having fun being by yourselves~” Magpie immediately got up and lightly slapped Lian in the face, while Arathorn was just looking flushed. 

“Lian, I’m already mad enough at you for making me do construction! Augh, I’m truly disgraced if I fell from being an information broker to a construction worker! Even the angels above laugh at me. Could you at least let me have a moment’s peace with Arathorn? We’re just discussing.”

“Yeah, yeah, alright~ Have fun, and be sure to grab me some ice cream too~ hehe.” Lian looked at Arathorn woefully. “After this event, I’ll see if we can prepare something small for just us.” We were about to leave before Magpie stopped us.

“Oh, Lian, then, tell us how great your relationship is going~ When are the two of you going out on a date?” Ah, the usual poking fun between Lian and Magpie. They just started teasing each other relentlessly about their relationships, while Arathorn and I kind of just watched it all happen. All well ends well. I then realized I had to check in on Calliope, so I swiftly told the three I had to leave. Navigating the city to Calliope’s supposed location, I did, in the end, find him, and I passed on my instructions about the night events, before we both sat on top of the roof, viewing everything from below. The activity stands, the food stalls, the live performances, the long line for the club-stall…

“It’s certainly a lively day, wasn’t it, Calliope? But it seems everyone is having fun. That’s what matters the most; to make a place where RevelriE can be happy and have fun. But all I can feel is that tomorrow… We may encounter some problems.”
