Hello everyone,

I'm sure you may have noticed a lack of activity from the species, and I want to first and foremost apologize for the sudden drop in responsiveness, especially. Unfortunately, most of the mod/admin team I was working with are not active during school semesters and I fell into the same rut. I've been adjusting to some big life changes.

After thinking it over for a while, I've decided it's better to put the species into hiatus. I tried to scramble together some more moderators when I first realised I wouldn't be able to run it anymore, but have been so consumed with school and other irl priorities that I just don't have much time to check socials, including my Discord—I sincerely apologize to those who had messaged me and I didn't get to it for months. I don't have a suitable successor for a leader of the species, since our mod team never quite grew along with the species. So a hiatus feels like the best option.

This decision doesn't come lightly, but comes with a heavy heart, because I really love this community and have enjoyed running events and developing the species with you all. I don't know if Shrimpshifters will come back one day, but I'll have to see where time and life leads me.

Some important things to note:
1. I am closing all shops after I respond to any pending replies. I will not be accepting new transactions, because that would be overwhelming for me to deal with all at once.
2. I am going to close the Discord server, as there are no mods for it. I will be closing it Sunday, December 31st, so if you need anything from it (such as receipts or art) please make sure to save them now.

🦐 PERSONAL UPDATE
I wanted to place this first in hopes that everyone could see this, but I wanted to address my inactivity (as you may have noticed it)! 

I am currently adjusting to the rigor of my classes and have found myself with little to no free time, so replies for threads that I run will, for the time being, be potentially very late. I really do love leading Shrimpshifters and will continue to do so unless I feel as though someone with more time would be better suited; we will see how the rest of the semester goes and I will make adjustments as needed. Since we have just done moderator applications (which I will review sometime this week), I will hopefully have people on the different tasks throughout the World so that these aspects are not so behind! Thank you for your patience thus far, and I apologize that I haven't made this announcement until now.

Shrimpshifters is turning 2 years old! This week, we'll have a MYO event to celebrate :)

I am going to be personal and sappy for a bit—I have really enjoyed the community that has been built over these last two years, and all of the Shrimpshifters that have been created in the past year alone. When we celebrated the 1-year anniversary, there were only around 40 Shrimpshifters: and now there are almost 500! My favourite part of running such a large species community is seeing all of the unique and beautiful designs, across all different skill levels and art styles. It's been amazing to see designers grow over the years creating designs, as well as all the artists drawing them.

Today, we aren't just celebrating the past, but also the future! So onwards, to what you've been waiting for: the MYO event!

Welcome to our August Newsletter! This month, we have our Anniversary Event planned, as well as our Moderator Applications being open!

🦐 ARTFIGHT EVENT RESULTS
Together, the community contributed a total of 31 attacks and 1,445.5 points to Artfight! 

There were 21 attacks for 1,023 points from Vampires, and 10 attacks for 371.5 points from Werewolves. Lemonmoth had the most individual points, contributing 435.5 points to team Vampire, and kalethemonster had the most attacks, contributing 11 attacks to team Vampire!
