Scavenger Hunt Has Ended!

Posted 1 year, 7 months ago by iinkt

With just about all of the candies found, it's time to conclude the hunt!

First, here is a Masterlist of all of the candies, and where they were located. I will be taking this list down, as well as all the candies, in about a week or so ^^

Second, below are all of the prizes that will be given to each user, if you participated! I will still need to upload all of the MYOs, so please be patient with me on that--I will make a bulletin when all of the prizes have been sent out, so if you think you're missing something by then, you can let me know. *The MYOs will be sent with my alt, printer-paper, over the next couple of days.

If you would like to leave any feedback for the event, please go to this Feedback Thread! We would really appreciate it. If you don't want to leave a comment, you can just vote on the poll :)

I also want to bump our Shopping Forum, the Central Square, in case you decide not to use some of your prizes. This isn't just for us mods to sell things, but it is also for our community, too!

First, here are the NPC shops we have available:

Then, you, as a member, are also welcome to sell/trade your MYOs, Remnants, and Shrimpshifter OCs, but also promote your non-Shifter related commissions, sales, etc!

However, we do not promote scalping (selling something for more than it is worth). Please keep in mind the worth of each item you are considering purchasing, and that we do not endorse the purchase of MYOs received for free (including from events). You can view the worth of each item in the Central Square Rules.

Scavenger Hunt is Ending Soon!

Posted 1 year, 7 months ago by iinkt

Hello everyone!

Looking at the current totals, I think I am going to close the Halloween Hunt sometime Saturday afternoon! I will hopefully have prizes out over the weekend, if that is the case, which gives you time to sort through your MYOs and purchase any limited-edition MYOs. I think just about all of the Legendary and Rare candies have been filled, and if not they've only got one or two claims left. There is one claim left on the final Mythic Candy--great job to those who have found it so far!

Not sure what I'm talking about? Check out the original Halloween Hunt post!

Also, we have quite a few adopts open from our very talented Guest Artists :0 You can check them out here!

We also have an adopt pinglist that we recommend joining, it helps out our GAs a lot! You can just click the subscribe button and you will get a notification when adopts are posted :)

Halloween Hunt Update!

Posted 1 year, 7 months ago by iinkt

Hello everybody! The hunt is still going strong, but I wanted to update you all on what is remaining!

There is only one Legendary Candy and two Rare Candies that are still open, but I do know all of the Common ones are still open! Haven't quite totaled the Uncommon ones yet, so I can't be sure, but there's only one so far I have capped off. There is still one mythic candy that hasn't been discovered at all, but it is by far the trickiest to find. It has a pretty sick prize though, in my opinion! All in all, only 8 out of 30 candies have been closed.

As for cap extensions, I've decided to extend all of the MYO ones (2 to 5, 5 to 10, and 10 to 15) but I won't be extending any Remnant ones (or Scales, but those will be the last to fill up since they had large caps anyways).

If you're not sure where you left off, I'm happy to look up your username through the submissions to see how many times you've sent claims, but if there's a likelihood you submitted duplicates then the total might be a little off (so just keep that in mind).

Good luck finding any candies you haven't found yet! Share the event with your friends so they can participate!

Not sure what I'm talking about? Check out the original Halloween Hunt post!

[CLOSED] The Halloween Hunt Starts Now!

Posted 1 year, 7 months ago by iinkt

Welcome to this year’s Halloween Hunt! We are very excited for this event, and we hope you are too!

HOW IT WORKS
Throughout the Toyhouse World, and anything Shrimpshifter related, there are hidden candies that can be claimed for a prize! These candies can essentially be hidden anywhere that has a text box. There are a total of 30 candies, and they look a bit like this:

18407567?166579596218411710?166579616018411810?166579622418411899?166579629718411923?1665796310

Once you find a candy, click on it, and you will be directed to a character link that has the prize listed on it. If you would like to claim the prize, head over to this Google Form and fill it out according to the instructions (it's the same Google Form in the character page). You must fill out this form each time you find a candy, so that we have accurate timestamps. Your email will not be recorded.

The Google Form will ask for your Treasury Account Number. While your Treasury Account number is optional, you won’t be able to claim Remnants or Scales without it. If you don’t have an account yet and would like one, please go to the Account Creation thread! Please do not worry if it takes a while for your account to be made, Jay is taking a short hiatus.

The game will end when all candies have been claimed their maximum amount of times, or on October 31, whichever comes first. Our current cap is subject to change, depending on how many members participate, but for now, Common candies are capped at 50, Uncommon at 20, Rare at 10, Legendary at 5, and Mythic at 2.

While Remnants and Scales are cumulative, MYOs upgrade as you find them. So, if you find an Uncommon MYO, and then find a Rare MYO, you will just receive a Rare MYO. You can get up to four MYOs: a Common Spooky MYO, an Uncommon or higher Spooky MYO, a Deep Sea MYO, and a Regular MYO. There is actually a fifth type in the Mythic candies, if you can find them!

RULES
We really want this scavenger hunt to go smoothly, and we only have one rule that is necessary:

DO NOT share candy locations with anyone, for any reason. This defeats the purpose of the game and can ruin the fun for others.

Breaking this rule will have you banned from future scavenger hunt events.

GOOD LUCK!
I hope you all have fun! Think creatively and scour cleverly, because there are some really tricky places we’ve hidden the rarer candies in.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask below! :)

Halloween Hunt is Tomorrow!

Posted 1 year, 7 months ago by iinkt

Are you planning to participate?

37 Votes Yes! 🩐

Hello everyone! Tomorrow is the Halloween Hunt, and so I wanted to explain how scavenger hunt events will work.

There will be 30 candies scattered around this Toyhouse World and just about anything related to Shrimpshifters (ex, mod’s shifter-related posts or characters). The candies all have a limit (except one!) of how many times they can be found. The event will end once all candies have been found their maximum amount of times, or on Oct. 31, whichever comes first.

While you will be able to collect as many Remnants and Scales as you find, there are limited numbers of MYO slots, so that as many people as possible are able to get slots. I'm waiting to see how I will cap them, but it will likely be that you can only find one higher rarity slot of each kind available (Spooky, Deep Sea, and Regular).

To claim a candy, you will click on the candy, follow the link to the google form and enter the candy’s unique code, your username, and your Treasury Account number (optional) to claim it. That way, I have a timestamp, and candies remain anonymous. The google form does not track emails, nor does it require you to sign in, so your personal information is safe, and I will not have access to it.

While your Treasury Account number is optional, you won’t be able to claim Remnants or Scales without it. If you don’t have an account yet and would like one, please go to the Account Creation thread! Please do not worry if it takes a while for your account to be made, Jay is taking a short hiatus. We will get everything sorted out :)

We will tally everything at the end of the event and distribute it to accounts for you, as well as posting a masterlist of what all was available, where it could be found, and who got what, so you can see all the available prizes! We will leave the candies up for a bit so you can see where they were (especially the rare ones).

If you have any questions, please ask below so I can make sure to clear up some things before tomorrow!

Redesigned MYO Tickets!

Posted 1 year, 7 months ago by iinkt

I just wanted to let you all know of the redesigned MYO Tickets! Old ones are still valid, don’t worry.

They’ve been designed so the icon of tickets is more distinguishable to which kind of ticket it is. The background and ticket colour indicate rarity, the mascot indicates the major set, and any accessories indicate minor sets. For example, in the icon below, the MYO slot is Regular Rare with an additional Spooky trait set.

56045016_g90kayqtM1XydPT.png

Likewise, the actual ticket is different too! You can see an example here. It no longer has an uploaded date, and is more visually different depending on what kind of ticket you have.

That being said, I wanted to share how you can ensure a MYO Ticket is real before trading. Here’s what you should check for:

  1. The ticket is uploaded as a character. MYO Tickets can only be traded if they are Non-Expiry, and Non-Expiry Tickets will always be uploaded as a character.
  2. The ticket was originally traded to another user by @iinkt or @printer-paper (my alt). Check the Ownership Tab of any ticket to verify that I gave it to the first person it was first owned by.
  3. The ticket has @printer-paper in the creator credits. I credit all MYO Tickets to my alt.
  4. The ticket is a part of the Toyhouse World. All tickets should be within this World, and can be found here.
  5. The ticket has a trade warning. Check the Ownership Tab of any ticket to see if it has a warning in the “Additional Credits” section.

If you are ever unsure if a Ticket is real, you can always reach out in the Questions and Concerns thread, and we’ll verify it for you.

2022 Spooky Trait Set Announcement!

Posted 1 year, 7 months ago by iinkt

Hello everyone!

I am very excited to announce this year’s Spooky trait set, with the theme Siren!55816994_LajWM4tW0Y2S6mJ.png

“In Aqualis folklore, sirens are vampire-like Shifters that aren’t entirely
 ah
Shifters. They often are illustrated with more fish-like features, lending to predatory fish or creatures that target shrimp. They are always depicted with Mermaid-Style Shrimp Tails and fangs, as well as large fins where their ears should be (perhaps, in the older days, a crude way to make fun of those with fin traits). They are also drawn with large, wing-like fins that vary in location depending on where you look—they may be part of their tails, attatched to their limbs, or seperate appendages entirely.

Stories claim that sirens are beautiful and seductive, said to have elaborate tails (just like modern-day Shifters often do!) and glittery scales and skin. They have an otherworldly power to their voices, able to not just sing, but also control will with hypnotic abilities. Many stories continue to say their alluring nature is so they may tantalize their victims before devouring them, while others dispute that they simply use these abilities to toy with Shifters. Regardless of the story you believe, they were originally depicted in religious stories and metaphors as manifestations of lust, desire, or destruction, intially representing how man should avoid becoming consumed by his worldly feelings.

Today, many use these tales to warn children about interacting with strangers. Siren stories are most common in underwater regions of Aqualis.”

If you can believe it, there are these real sirens in Aqualis (and yes—some of them are part of cannibalistic tribes). They live quite far off of the coast, and have most of their feuds with Deep Sea tribes. They use their hypnotic abilities to help them hide.

Their traits include the Aquatic Wings Trait (with three variations, depicted above) and the Giant Fin Trait! You can read more in the Spooky Trait Set page.

The Spooky Trait Set is a minor set, meaning it is combined with any major set (Regular or Ancient).

These MYOs are currently purchaseable in the Official Shop (Terra’s Tent) and will be available until November 1st! Guest Artists may also make Spooky Shifters during the month.

The final way to obtain these will be the Halloween Hunt, which will begin on October 15! Hope to see you there! :)

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

We just unveiled two new trait sets, as well as some new NPCs! You can read about everything here.

This Saturday (Oct. 8) we will reveal the Spooky ‘22 trait set! Can’t wait to see you then!

It’s spooky season, and that means it’s time for a spooky event! To do so, we need to show you two brand new types of Shrimpshifters: Deep Sea and Ancient!

DEEP SEA

Deep Sea Shifters are a variant of Shrimpshifters that are native to the deeper levels of the ocean. They live underwater, typically much further off the outer coast in their own tribes or as rogues instead of in cities. They are rarely land-breathers, but if they are, it is through generalized breathing (meaning they breathe in water and on land). The deeper you go into the ocean, the more terrifying they become
.

Deep Sea is a minor trait set, meaning it is tacked on to a major trait set (which at this point in time is just Regular and Ancient Shifters). For example, if you have an “Uncommon Deep Sea MYO,” you would have a regular Uncommon MYO with access to all of the Deep Sea traits.

We also moved two regular traits to the Deep Sea traits: Bioluminescent Lure (R) and Transparency (R). If you had these traits, your Shifter may fall in rarity, and the traits will be relabeled with (DS) instead of the rarity tag. (affected Shifters include: #033, #039, #049, #052)

If a Shifter has Deep Sea traits, their masterlist rarity tag will be [rarity]DS (ex, common is CDS).

Deep Sea MYOs will be available in the shop to purchase, although we will not be providing redesign upgrades for DS traits.

You can view the Deep Sea Traits here!

ANCIENTS

Ancient Shifters are Shifters who have been revived with the use of genetic technology and artifacts called Remnants. Remnants are fossils, and they are called “Remnants” as they are the remains of an old civilization. Because they are made from often random and sometimes incomplete genetic material, they are known for being frankensteins of multiple Shifters. They have many traits that have long disappeared from the Shrimpshifter species.

To obtain an Ancient, you must have an adequate number of Remnants, which you can collect during events. After you have at least five Remnants, Theodosious will transform them into a Shifter in the Laboratory. You can read more about the process under the Ancient Trait Overview linked below!

You can also sell your Remnants to Archie in return for Scales, and these Remnants will be available for purchase by other users. Archie cannot sell Remnants he doesn’t have, so if he doesn’t have any in his inventory, he won’t have any available for purchase.

Your Remnants will be stored under the same Treasury Account number as your scales, but under the Remnant Treasury.

Ancient MYOs are not available for purchase, and may only be created from Remnants.

An Ancient Shifter’s Masterlist tag will be A[rarity] (ex: common will be AC).

You can view the Ancient Traits here!

MAJOR VS. MINOR TRAIT SETS

To eliminate some potential confusion from the above trait sets, we have two labels for trait sets: major and minor.

Major trait sets are entire species. As of now, the only major trait sets are Regular and Ancient.

Minor trait sets are species variants. As of now, the only minor trait sets are Deep Sea and Spooky.

If it helps, you can think about it like a Barbie doll. Barbie dolls come with clothes, and so she—and her initial clothes—are the major trait set. Any extra clothing packs you buy for her are like minor trait sets.

HALLOWEEN HUNT

The Halloween Hunt will be held starting October 15! It is a “scavenger hunt” type event in which you find candies to win prizes. Prizes include Scales, Remnants, and MYOs of all types!

SPOOKY MYO

Each year, we will release an exclusive minor trait set called “Spooky” that has a unique halloween theme. You can purchase Spooky MYOs during the month of October, as well as earn them during the Halloween Hunt.

On October 8, we will reveal this year’s “Spooky” trait set, so stay tuned!

NEW SHOPS AND TREASURY

We have some new shops to go along with our three new NPCs: Archie, Terra, and Theodosius!

18228643?166465935518228699?166465956118228816?1664662014

We plan to make their shops interactive soon! They are located as stickied threads in the Central Square.

The Treasury Forum was also redesigned to adjust for the new Remnant Feature. You can apply for an account here, and then the Remnants and Scale storage have their own threads.

Thank you for reading! If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

Last Chance!

We have some really cool things planned for October, so I hope to see you soon! :)
