Lagopus (Artic Fox) (Amadeus Foragoapusis)

Basic Backstory

Amadeus was a normal white morph Lagopus who lived in one of the big cities and didn't do much with his life. He was fine being an ice career for all of his life, but then he ran into Tatyana one day and everything changed. Through her, he found that he could dream to be much more and wanted to give his all to help her achieve her dreams so that he then could achieve his. Tatyana shut herself away he vowed that he would do whatever it takes to make her dream come true.

full backstory

Growing up in DriftFord Amadeus spent most of his childhood being taught by his parents on how to harvest and navigate the ice. His family made a decent living selling ice to cities south where they needed it to help keep their food cold and for the first 18 years of his life he thought little of anything else. Sure he occasionally went on small adventures with other kits his age but for the most part he believed his parents when they said that their family were Ice carriers and that was what they would always be.

But one day a blue morph Lagopus came to their town that changed his world. Tatyana had the most stunning eyes and a perfect smile. When she and her brother Barents out of the blue came to his door asking for his help Tatyana seems so passionate with her words he couldn't say no. while helping them get an exquisitely ornate piece of ice for some higher-ups Tatyana began to tell him of her dream to one day become the Lagopus leader. Every word she spoke made her countenance shine even brighter and he couldn't help but believe her in the end when she stated that she had to win, that she was born to become the leader.

As they were finishing things up she asked him what his dreams for his life were but he was unable to answer. He went home that night and sat in his bed with that question running through his head over and over again. What did he want with his life? Was he really happy staying here and cutting ice for the rest of his life when there was a world full of possibilities out there for him? A dream just waiting for him to picture like Tatyana had was somewhere and all he had to do was find it. After that restless night as the dawn of morning shone through his bedroom window, he knew what he had to do.

Quickly packing a small bag he went out in search of Tatyana and Barents. At first, they were confused at why he was looking for them, but he quickly explained that he wasn't sure what life had in mind for him, but he wanted to be something more, see something more. However, it would likely take a bit for this to happen, so till the day came when he found his dream, he wanted to join them in making Tatyana's dream come true. It took a bit of convincing and Barents wasn't really convinced, but Tatyana saw the light in his eyes and agreed that once she achieved her dream, she would help him with his.

For the next few years, he kept to his word and stood by the two siblings no matter what happened. He saw everything the two had to do and had to give up in search of their dreams. Even though it was hard they pushed through and gave him the inspiration to fight for their cause with all his heart as well. Together the three of them pushed Tatyana to the top and they could taste victory. Very few people knew about his involvement with her, but he was happy just to see her smile and her eyes sparkle knowing that she was getting close to accomplishing her dream. Afterall, as soon as she got hers he would be able to find his and also obtain that spark that she had within him.

But it was not to be. The day came when the vote was cast for who would be the next Lagopus leader and Tatyana lost to a white morph Lagopus named Cole. With his young age and own spark, there was no way that Tatyana would be able to become the leader after he got elected. Tatyana locked herself away and Amadeus also felt a bit of his soul die that day. This wasn't what was meant to happen, how could they have lost. 

After a few months of sulking and feeling lost Barents came to Amadeus and told him of his plan. Barents had spent his life trying to make sure his sister achieved her dream and he wasn't about to stop this close to achieving it. He was going to do what ever it took to put her in power, just like he always had. He asked Amadeus if he would help join him in the cause and without hesitation Amadeus agreed.

Together the two of them set out to find a way to make her dreams come true. Without thinking about it to long the two knew they had to take out Cole as he was really what was standing in Tatyana's way. However they would have to be careful about it as if people knew that they were doing it for her then she would also get in trouble. Gathering up a small group of rebels they attempted to attack Cole head on, but his guards were to strong for them. Nearly defeated with only Barents, Amadeus and Samael left in their group fighting, Barents came up with a new plan. If they couldn't attack Cole head on, they would take out his brother and hope that in the weakened state that Cole would step down.

With Amadeus at his side the small group now ventures to Frostreach in hopes that their plan this time will work. Amadeus is a smart Lagopus who knows where to pick his fights, he will do whatever it takes to make Tatyana's dream come true so he can find his, even risking his own life. However, he also knows when he is outmatched and will retreat if it means he can fight another day for his cause.

call to adventure

Amadeus is one of the main characters in 'the story of the artic fox' one shot and should not be used as a character if a player is taking part in that one shot. In any other game-

1) if a player character wishes to play as Amadeus his call to adventure could consist of him giving up on Tatyana's dream after Barents dies as she has fully given up after hearing of his death. Needing to now find his own life he goes out adventuring with another group in hopes of finding something that he can obtain but is constantly worried about what his dream could be as he doesn't want to fail like Tatyana did.

2) Alternitively he could try to find a new way to achieve Tatyana's dream without Barents or killing people. Eventually he will find that her dream is impossible and strives to find a new dream for her that will make her just as happy by going on adventures with others and sending back letters to her with ideas for what her new dream could be.

Ideas for what you could draw him doing:
-cutting ice out of the large lake near his hometown.
-Listening to Tatyana speak as her eyes gleam and he gets lost in them.
-Helping Barents in the back allies to assist Tatyana in anything she needs
-trying to support Tatyana after she looses the position of leader, but she is ignoring him
-sneaking into the woods outside of Stormcrest with Barents to kill Coles brother Albus
-sharpening his spear by the fire
-daydreaming about what his lives dream could be.
