Insider's Look Into Personality

The trauma of what happened to Finn's village is something that shifted how the boy previously acts. Meeting him, one will notice Finn is soft-spoken and polite to the point that Lewis and Ronin often has to speak for him if he's being quiet/non-verbal. The boy tries his best to address people by their proper title depending on what aura that Pokemon tends to give. His reserve and polite nature often leads to him to react extremely if he feels he's overstepping one's boundaries or did something wrong. This often leads to him breaking down into tears. Nevertheless, the boy can be quite kind and often put others before himself espesically those he love. To him, he feels that's a good way of ensuring he'e never left behind. This does mean that the boy is very anxious when it comes to any of his loved ones leaving him to the point that Lewis and Ronin had to spend a good week or so, getting the boy comfortable enough to be left in the care of their landlord when they go out on missions.

He doesn't like being confrontational for any reason, leading to him being meek with Ronin and Lewis being the ones to deal with any form of it. Once you get to know Finn, you will pick up on how bubbly the young boy can be. The boy is a very lively and cheery young man that often likes to look into the positive of things. He is very caring and carries a strong love for all things pertaining to heroes. He is prone to becoming more chatty whenever his parents introduce him to members of the Union and those who helped the world in some way. Hell, it's one of the reasons why his papa made him that cape for him. Of all the heroes he seen, nothing beats Lewis and Ronin. Perhaps it's due to the fact they love him and saved him from getting killed. What is known is that the young boy will do everything in his power to get as many things as he can that reminds him of his parents. A interesting thing to note is the fact the boy is pretty intelligent as noted by his abilty to pick up on the little things quicker.

Summary of Appearance

Finn takes the form of a humanoid Pokemon that has similar vibes to that of a wrestler. Finn has predominantly pale purple (or pinkish purple) body with thin arms and legs with his hands having three fingers and his feet resembling that of paws. Covering his feet are brown shoes that match the same colors as his hips (which resembles that of short pants that come above his knees). Three robust, blunt protrusions are seen on top of his head that almost gives him a makeshift mohawk. On each side of his head are circular sections that resemble protective padding. There are white bands resembling bandages on his torso and wrists. Completing his look are his bright red eyes that often maintain a worry expresion.

  • Under the full moon, Finn is able to slip into a Feral Forme he has a hard time controlling. You can see more of his Riolu blood in this.
  • A little star-shaped star can be found in the middle of his back from the encounter with the ghost in his old village.
  • Whenever he's nervous/feeling a strong emotion, he tends to gain more bits of his feral forme in the form of dog ears and a tail.
  • His eyes become a bright blue whenever he's peeking into one's aura.

Story

Summary

Doorstep baby. You're probably very familiar of the trope if I set the scene. Underneath a raining day, a mother (or father) is seen carrying a baby in a basket. The parent is sometimes draped in a cloak to avoid being seen. They reached a door to a house and ringed the doorbell. They quickly placed down the basket and escape through the night as the door opens. Stepping out, a person stands there and glance down towards the child before them, which may hold a note. In some respects, Finn is a doortep baby to some extent. However, his origins wasn't quite as typical as you what you expect.

It started with a bang as ghosts filled the village he has grown attached to. Some say these ghosts escaped the gates of Turnback while some say they were always there and simply waiting for the time to be right. Whatever was the case, these ghouls came and ripped apart the town. Out of worry for the safety of their child, Finn's parents force him to hide away as they did all they can to try to prevent the ghosts from finding him. They were successful, though unknown to Finn, it came at the cost of their life. Finn spent days huddled into his room until he finally got the nerve to leave and try to understand what happened. To his horror, he would be chased by the few ghosts that lingered until he was forced into a market where he laid curled up, sobbing.

But this place...would be where his life changed for good.

The Story of a Boy

In Tellus, there is always this shared understanding of the existence of a race known as The Ascension. The Ascension have many names, but Gods is often the more common title. This race is filled with powerful, ageless beings that are commonly worshiped by mortal inhabitants of Tellus. Marked by the God of Many Hands, few have actually seen the faces of these beings. As such, many often have different depiction of what these Gods look like. However, there was always similarities between these depictions. A good example was that of the God of Vices and Souls, Yveltal. Every one always described it as being some kind of black bird. Some suggest it was some omen of some sort. Unlike Xerneas, it was supposedly more monstrous in appearance. Yveltal was said to not be evil but more chaotic. After all, death may be cruel, but it was necessary. This was a motto those who admire the God often cited.

This brings us to the Village of Witherford. This place is located within the Seikatsu Forest away from the other villagers scattered within it. Pokemon were wary of those who came from that village. Perhaps it was due to their adoration for death and the one that brings distortion. No one knows too much about the village. It was one of those villages that kept themselves. Even those who leave it, they never talk about the nature what goes on inside of it. Those who leave that village seem to often be that of normal types and fighting types. Out of the many members of this village were a Lucario [Aila] and a Hitmonchan [Oz]. Bonding over their love of fighting, the two would get closer before having a Tyrogue named Finn. Life was peaceful for the small family. They enjoyed their quiet simple life together.....until it happened.

Some say the Village of Witherford cursed themselves for looking up to death and the being of distortion. How else can one explain the sudden surge of ghost Pokemon that rampaged through the village and took the lives of those who lived in it? Or would you believe this as being something that village itself wanted? The story itself is unclear. What we know is that Aila and Oz did not intend for Finn to lose his life. This village was not worth losing their son over as they loved the boy with all their heart. As such, they made the boy hide while they attempt to fight back any ghosts in hopes of making a path to escape the place with their son. However, they failed. Their loss came at the cost of their life as the ghosts were simply too much.

However, they refused to move on even as Yveltal appeared before them to claim their souls.

Their souls could not live with the idea of their son losing his life so they pleaded with the female not to take them to the God of Vices and Soul. They asked that she bring them back for just a bit longer until their boy was safe. They offered to serve her as her servants for eternity as a tradeoff. Yveltal pondered this. They reflected upon what occurred and how they never brought this massacre to the village that worshipped her. She accepted their offer and shifted Aila into Ceruledge while Oz became a Houndstone. With Aila's blades, she cleaved though the various ghost types that got close to where Finn was hiding while Oz sought out anyone who was willng to destroy the menace that caused the destruction of the village as well as protect his child.

To Oz's relief, he ended up finding Lewis and Ronin after traveling for so long. Oz would guide the two over towards the village. It was a bit trouble, considering that Oz had lost his ability to speak due to the damage done to his throat in his previous form carrying over. In the end, his help was appreciated as Finn had left his hiding place and was assaulted by the ghost Pokemon. Aila did manage to hold them off long enough for him to flee to the market. However, it was clear she grew tired. Lewis and Ronin assisted Aila and Oz in slaying the Pokemon behind this, and Aila revealed her (as well as Oz) true identity to the two men. The two ghost Pokemon asked that they help watch over Finn for them as they have given up the rights to do so due to their promise to Yveltal.

Oz and Aila then looked down to Finn, quietly wishing their goodbyes to Finn. Registering who these two were based on their aura, Finn questioned if they were gone forever. Not wanting to break his heart after the trauma he went through, Aila simply states that they will one day before kissing Finn's head. With that, she departed with Oz to serve under Yveltal. Finn breaks down into sobs afterwards and clings to Lewis and Ronin. Both of Pokemon look at each other and realize that they were going to have to adopt this boy if they wanted to honor their wishes.

Fighting style

The thing with Finn is that he doesn't have a fighting style. Regardless on the fact that he is a fighting type, he doesn't have too much experience to hone in a proper style. After all, this is a 4-5 year old we're talking about. As he gets older and trains more with his parents, he starts making great use of his attack. This does mean he has to get up and personal with his strikes. While this does open him to the risk of being forced to rely on his pitful defense and defense, he will start to rely on more of his Riolu blood by learning more moves that will allow him to dodge easily or tap deep into the nature of aura. As it stands though, Finn is mostly being taught in the art of getting away from a battle as fast as he can and find ways to be able to contact either Ronin and Lewis. While they may not be focusing on training (as they would like for Finn to have a childhood), they know there is that risk of others attempting to kidnap him or take advantage of how kind the young boy can be at times. This does get complicated when his feral forme is involved.

Strengths

  • Is capable of using aura
  • Can be creative if he needs to be
  • Feral forme can sharply boost attack and speed
  • Can learn a variety of moves

Weaknesses

  • Doesn't have the best defenses
  • Doesn't have fighting skills yet
  • Hasn't properly started training
  • Can lose himself to feral formel
Guts (Ability)
Natural Ability

Difficulty
Mastery

Tyrogue can come with one with one of three abilities: Guts, Steadfast and Vital Spirit. Of the three that are presented to Finn, Guts is the one that Finn has, With Guts, the strength of Finn goes up by 50% when he's inflicted with a non-volatile status condition. Given the nature of the ability, it's a lot harder for Finn to trigger it unless he has something like a Flame Orb and Toxic Orb. Outside of the fact those can be costly to get, Lewis and Ronin aren't exactly fond of the idea of the boy inflicting a status condition on himself. If tripping can make the boy cry, a status condition isn't gonna make it any better.

Bullet Punch
Natural Skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Bullet Punch is a damaging physical Steel-type move that the Tyrogue line can naturally learn if passed down from their parents. This is a move that Finn specifically received from Oz. To use this move, Finn's arm glows a bright blue as he lunges at the enemy and proceeds to rapidly punch them. This is a useful move as it's akin to Quick Attack in some respects. With the amount of energy needed and the nature of the move, Finn is able to pull out this move in a snap and potentially interrupt whatever attacks a Pokemon is planning to use. He's trying to adjust with the speed of the move itself since it often catches him off guard.

Protect
Learned Skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Protect is a status Normal-type move that that he learned through a technical machine he received as a gift from Lewis and Ronin. To use this move, Finn raises his hands and forms a turquoise force field in front of his body. This attack is able to protects Finn from all effects of moves that target him during the turn it is used including damage. Of course, there are moves that can break though the barrier and it does weaken the more it's used in battle. However, this move still proves to be useful for Finn as he is still young and not able to fight properly. You best believe that Finn often uses it as a result.

Metronome
Learned Skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Metronome is a status Normal-type move that that he learned through a technical machine he received as a gift from Lucius. To use this move, Finn raises his hands and waves his fingertips back and forth until he start to glow white. He then use a random move. Metronome is a wildcard of a move as it can allow Finn to use a wide variety of the move. Hell, if he concentrate, he can select the category that move belongs to. However, even then, there's no telling what move that Finn can get. This can make the move very hard to predict as there is a real chance the boy can get unlucky and accidentally use Explosion.

Drain Punch
Learned Skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Drain Punch is a damaging physical Fighting-type move that Finn learned from watching and being taught by Lewis. When used, Finn's hands become surrounded by a black orb with blue-white sparkles that outlined in green aura. When Lewis punches the opponent, green, sparkling energy explodes from their back and flows back into Lewis. This energy then heals him. This is Finn most used move as it's something he gets STAB from and a single strike from it allows him to be able to recover a good portion of the damage he took during battle. Whenever he does get the chance to train, he focuses most of his attention on improving the strength of using this move.

Ice Punch
Learned SKill

Difficulty
Mastery

Ice Punch is a damaging physical Ice-type move that Finn learned from Lewis' mother. To use this move, Finn pulls one of his fists back as it becomes surrounded by a light blue icy glow. Without holding back, the male then punches the enemy. It should be noted that this move does have a chance to freeze those when it makes contact with the foe. While the chance itself is low, it's still a possibility. Finn isn't the best at using this move. In fact, he does occasionally freezes him arm as a result of how much power he put into him. Ronin is helping him work out how much energy he needs to put into using it.

Bulldoze
Learned Skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Bulldoze is a damaging physical Ground-type that Finn learned from watching one of his cartoons. When this move is used, Finn stomps down on the ground and creates a shock wave on the ground. The shock wave then crashes towards the opponent. The strength of the move is able to lower the speed of whoever gets hit by it, allowing Finn to be able to move faster than whatever is attacking. A amusing thing to note is that Finn often uses this move whenever he throws the occasional tantrum. This results in Ronin panicking about the amount of property damage being done by the move in question.

Inventory

Exp Share

On the rare occasion that Ronin and Lewis train Finn, they usually have him wear a EXP. Share. No one truly knows who crafted the gear and made it work the way it does. Lewis cites that it involves some psychic nonsense that he doesn't care to work out. However, this item is useful as it allows Finn to be able to focus and pick up on how to efficently use his skills while watching Ronin and Lewis practice. He doesn't wear it all the time as it can give him a bit of a headache after a while.

Cape of Hope

This cape is something that Lewis made for Finn to act as a security blanket alongside Finn's plush [Mr. Biff] whenever he feels nervous. Finn happily likes to refer to this cape as "his cape of hope and just-ice". You will rarely see the boy without his cape around his neck to the point it often gets dirty. Ronin and Lewis often wrap him up like a burrito in it whenever he gets really tired as they are fully aware that makes him sleep much faster. Lewis has made several more of these capes for him.

Design

  • Finn's feral design went through several changes before I was satisfied with its looks.

There is a level of serenity between Bestias when they're exposed to the other's prescence. In some ways, this is most likely due to the fact Bestias often feel connected to each other and are often reminded of home due to their scent that allows them to calm them primal urges. As such, it's not surprise that Finn was quick to latch onto Lewis the moment they met. Finn often enjoys sitting on Lewis' shoulder as Lewis sew whatever garb he has on his mind. His vibes alone are enough to keep him at ease and calm his anxious thoughts. Deep in his heart, Finn knows that Lewis will do everything in his power to ensure nothing happens to him.

Most of Finn's initial trust for Ronin was built off the knowledge of the male having dark moves to help deal with ghosts. Eventually, this trust grew beyond that once he registered how kind and gentle Ronin can be towards him. Regardless, Finn enjoys spending as much time with Ronin as much as possible. Most of his time is spent either meditating with him or listening to his words of wisdom. He often goes with him whenever he goes out to pick up some things for the house. With the two of them not knowing too much about Neoma, they often find themselves getting distracted with something they notice in the city that they never seen before.

He always likes to ramble about Raiden being a superhero with Raiden often going along with it since it does stroke his ego. Finn does occasionally like to hold him like a teddy bear whenever he falls asleep against him. Raiden makes a great pillow with how soft his fur is compare to those of his species.

Finn was frighten of Lucius at first. I mean when you see a Pokemon that is larger than you with a ghost typing, that shouldn't be a surprise. However, upon seeing how laidback Lewis is around Lucius and how gentle that Lucius is around him, Finn learns to trust him. He enjoys receiving the various books that Lucius often likes to buy him as Finn does have a big interest in reading. Well..he's more so enjoys reading the funny little pictures inside. He likes to take Lucius offers of listening to him ramble about whatever book he has while being nestled in the warmth of Lucius' fur. Finn never had a pet before. His biological parents never cared to have any as they didn't feel they have the necessary set-up needed to take care of one. That and Finn was already a handful as it is. As such, Finn was surprised to learn that he was given the opportunity to own a feral and help take care of it. Well...maybe not so much the latter part as Jasper is often the one who has to focus on raising Finn. If Finn doesn't have his Numel plush with him, he is usually carrying around Jasper. Finn absolutely loves Jasper and enjoys occasionally chasing him around. Sometimes, this does lead to them causing a bit of damage around the house in the process.

You would think that Finn would be fearful of Ryujin, given his size and appearance. However, that isn't the case. In fact, Finn finds him to be very cool in terms of his appearance and strength. Whenever he's around, Finn is usually attempting to mimic him. In his eyes, he feels doing so will make him grow stronger. No one bothers to tell him that's not the case as no one wishes to ruin the little hope in his heart. He always enjoy when Ryujin often picks him by his cape and gently carry him around. While they shared the common theme of losing their respective biological parent, Finn was jealous at how better Elliot was when it comes to his ability to fight and confidence. This partially lead to him carrying the goal of surpassing him. Despite how wild Elliot can be, Finn knows that the reason that Elliot act the way he does is due to his trauma. It's to the point he takes great offense to anyone who dares to insult him and refer to him as being foolish/stupid. When the two of them are together, they are often occasionally wrestling each other on the ground.

He isn't fond of her tendency to stick her nose in places that she shouldn't and often complains when she finds ways to get her to do naughty things like stealing! To his luck, he was very successful at that. Finn looks up to Haruto and often sticks to him whenever he can. He often hides behind him and have him speak for him whenever he's feeling non-verbal. When Finn first met Rigel, the boy was frightened by him. Considering the boy whole village was killed by ghost types, it makes sense for that to be the case. However, when the sword respected his space and showed many acts of kindness, Finn learned to really trust Rigel to the point he sees him as being a uncle to him. He often spends his time just sitting close by him, enjoying the occasional head pats that he would receive from him and listening to him ramble about the things he and his papas did while they were out on a mission. Rigel also have been teaching him a lot about the nature of the Divine.
