From a young age, Zaki's parents were strict and made sure he his upbringing was one full discipline. He always prioritized his workload over any sort of entertainment, albiet he'd finish it quickly to play with his childhood friend, Shiloh. He carried the sense of alertness and loyalty throughout his life. His friend was one to throw themselves into adventure by the seat of their pants. Zaki felt these attributes were needed most when looking after his friend. He always has a watchful eye for this person, and hasn't left their side till now. Zaki has always been the incisive one, making the logical and clear-headed decisions in Shiloh's stead. This has gotten them out of trouble in their years together. In combination, Zaki always puts Shiloh's needs and wants above his own. He's always quick to sacrifice himself to get out of any sort of unfavorable situation.

Zaki isn't one to talk about himself, he'd rather listen to others ( Shiloh ) ramble on. This has lead him to being quiet and rather confidential. He has no intentions of forming a closer bond with others, and likes to keep everything on a formal level. With the amalgamation of these three attributes, Zaki views the world with an objective lense. He does what is necessary because it is a must, however when it comes to Shiloh, he deviates from this view. Despite his strong feelings for his long-time friend, Zaki has adapted into a stoic and impersonal outward appearance. He rarely acts out of his personal feelings for himself, rather, he does so for Shiloh.

While Zaki isn't usually reckless with his decisions, he is somewhat impulsive when the matter concerns Shiloh. He tends to never think clearly when he fears his friend is in danger or the like. He is often assertive with Shiloh concerning such situations telling him what they should do versus another. Try as he might, he can't hold Shiloh back from everything. He becomes submissive when the other puts their foot down as well, acquiescing to their demands. Although when his decisions are proven to be the better of the twos', he's rather complacent and likes to tease Shiloh about it. He is certainly quite possessive of Shiloh.

Zaki has built his life around watching over Shiloh. He doesn't show much compassion for anything besides them, but that doesn't mean he's completely heartless towards everyone else. He prioritizes Shiloh over anyone else to a detriment. Overall he's incredibly formal and polite towards everyone he meets and doesn't waste time with small talk. He likes to get business done quickly and efficiently.

Zaki was born in the northern district of Onekama, a small town at the southern tip of the Spiral Archipelego.

Zaki's parents were incredibly strict with his upbringing. He was expected to practice his school work and the piano every day. He always had a set schedule created by them to help shape him into what they saw as a respectable intellect. Zaki didn't have much free time and always yearned for a bit of freedom. It too far into elementary school when he met Shiloh, a child around the same age as him while walking home. Zaki was taken aback by their way of expressing themselves, Zaki could never dream of being so outspoken. Zaki found it hard to believe, but he looked forward to seeing the eccentric mienfoo every day. They quickly grew a budding friendship in which Shiloh brought a bit of zest into his monotonous life.

Zaki hid their friendship from his parents, knowing they'd disapprove of such tomfoolery. Zaki's curfew stopped him from spending more time with his new friend, so instead of taking his piano lessons, the small boy opted to skip and play with Shiloh. He bribed his tutors with ease but soon found out that they would break his trust and tell his parents. While upset, Zaki's parents allowed him to continue the friendship at the expense of him finishing his school work before going out to play. Needless to say, Zaki obediently followed their orders to a T. He always knew they would disapprove of his connection with Shiloh, and allowed him to stay friends in hopes that he'd grow out of the phase. However, Zaki persevered since Shiloh was the only semblence of adventure in his life.

✦ EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN ✦

Zaki lived a fairly comfortable life being friends with Shiloh, there was hardly any incident that shook either of them to their bones. Their town was moderately safe and Zaki always erred on the side of caution. It was like the calm before a storm, Zaki could feel it in his feathers. When Zaki was 12, he met Shiloh at a fine party where they talked and laughed together while the grown ups mingled. It was the perfect night for Zaki, Shiloh was incredibly lively and Zaki almost felt his heart jump out of his chest. The magical moment didn't last long though. It was as if by the strike of midnight, the livliness vanished. Shiloh's home was ransacked and when the family returned home to the destruction, Zaki could feel the despair radiating from Shiloh. While Shiloh urged everyone to help bring the perpetrators to justice, Zaki knew two children would be of no use against the harsh world of justice. Zaki mediated Shiloh enough for them to stop their pursuit.

A few weeks later, Shiloh came knocking on Zaki's door exclaiming that the perpetrators were captured by bounty hunters. Shiloh's excitement over the heros was bubbling over to the point Zaki feared Shiloh might leave to join them right then and there. Zaki felt a sudden daunting feeling, Shiloh would eventually leave him. Zaki tried his best to dissuade them from taking up an apprenticeship with the bounty hunters since they were still young and children have no place doing such business. He knew these words would hurt Shiloh, but he wanted to keep Shiloh close no matter what. As they grew, Zaki watched Shiloh's back as they played mini-cop in the streets. He'd clean up Shiloh's messes, if any. During these years, Zaki started training to become a martial artist as well, although he wasn't as good as Shiloh.

The two eventually began work around various parts of town. Zaki found work teaching piano lessons to young children, and he found it a comfortable life. That is until Shiloh came knocking on his doors yet again with a proposition. They had found a flyer recruiting members to the Global Communication Setup Foundation (GCSF). Shiloh recounted the dilemma they had with their parents, seeking more comfort from Zaki. Zaki knew what this meant. He couldn't truly stop Shiloh from pursuing their dreams, but he still tried to think about it logically and pushed Shiloh to do the same. When that didn't work, Zaki made a proposition of his own. He was comfortable with his life in Onekama, but his concern for Shiloh was too great to let them go alone. Zaki suggested that he will go with Shiloh.

There was only one problem. Zaki's parents. Zaki knew his parents would not approve of the Bounty Hunter profession, but frankly, Zaki did not care. He was going for the sake of Shiloh first and foremost. He didn't waste time arguing with his parents over the matter and decided to run away from home. Furious, Zaki's parents threatened to cut ties with him if he steps out like this. Caught in the cross roads, Zaki had already made his decision. He needed to keep Shiloh safe.

A little weary from his own fight, Zaki prepped his journey with Shiloh. They were to sail to Kala Island and Ethovalon. Shiloh was more than well equipped to barter their way on board to set sail for the home of GCSF.

Upon touching down in Ethovalon, Zaki followed Shiloh as they made quick work to fill out the recruitment papers. Shiloh pitched the name "SHINING JUSTICE" to Zaki, and he, unsurprisngly, had no objections to it. He found the excitement in Shiloh's demeanor endearing and some of it carried to him. He felt relieved that Shiloh is happy and that he can watch over them as well. With the approval of their Bounty Hunter team, Zaki can't help but feel a little nervous yet excited for whats to come.

• Zaki proposed that he also goes with them, mainly to watch over Shiloh. Zaki's parents didn't like that.
• Zaki feels like he made the right choice because he is now close with the one he holds most dear.
