Count Elvir tries to take good care of the people that do live on his land, but does believe that it isn't wrong to eat people. You just ought to be nice to them beforehand.

Enjoys city planning and politics. He likes that he was to wait decades or longer to see the full effect of his plans.

🌕Backstory🌕

Elvir was highly susceptible to vampires compulsing him to do things while living.
Elvir fell in with vampires as he happened across a carriage that had gone off a bridge and fallen into a river when he was 14. The driver of it stopped him and compulsed him to help. Being submerged in running water renders vampires inanimate and, being that the driver was a vampire himself, he couldn't pull those who had fallen into river out of it himself. Elvir managed to find two of the three passengers, but the third had been swept somewhere down river. The vampires agreed that it would be best to get help, then come back to find the last person.

Normally compulsion wears off in a few hours, but with Elvir being susceptible to it he remained under the influences and kept going back to the river and wandering further and further down the banks.

He was turned into a vampire only because his sire's family desperately needed to someone to replace a few other vampires that had died. They fully planned on keeping Elvir as a servant his entire life due to how easily he could be compulsed to do things, but beggars can't be choosers.
As things stand, they don't regret it as he was a good addition to the family. 

As per custom, was given a new name upon being turned into a vampire. Named after the river which he pulled his sire from.
The river has since been renamed, much to his relief, as people had a habit of upon learning his name to start telling him about their opinions on said river and the area surrounding it.  

The youngest titled vampire this far north and the only titled vampire in Isador. While Isador is an expansionist empire, they have opted to leave him alone as it is considered a wasteful effort to try to remove a friendly vampire. Having to go through swamp and fight undead just isn't worth it. They allowed him to keep his land, agreed to acknowledge his title and the privileges/responsibilities that come with it.

Verlaine - Longtime Friend - Elvir used to look after Verlaine when his family would come and visit Elvir's sire's family.  Once they were both adults and vampires, Elvir was surprised to learn that Verlaine considered him an extremely close friend as Elvir never viewed their relationship that way.
While they rarely see each other anymore, Elvir deeply enjoys when Verlaine is able come to visit him. He's always admired how much Verlaine enjoys simply being alive and the man's ability to find beauty in even the most mundane things. Elvir wonderful to listen to him describe the world.

Excellent orator and storyteller. Starts stories in a way that's considered unusual for Isador with how he states how long ago a story takes place (i.e. such things as "When the ocean wasn't salty" or "when trees were still new". ), but that's how his parents always told him stories.

For political reasons Elvir and Verlaine eventually marry. Since having heirs is out of the question, vampire marriages focus on the political aspects of joining families together. Elvir's family collapsed, so Verlaine marries him as a means of ensuring his friend will be safe. They aren't romantically attracted to each other, but are very happy together.

(In modern times, he would identify closest to biromantic asexual. In the story timeline he would describe his identity as "uninterested in the matters of the flesh.")
