At her fullest potential...

She thought that her parents held high expectations, but they were nothing compared to what the Prodigal believed in. It was beyond stressful with the amount of work handed to her. But what changed her was how she let her guard down.

Emery is considered powerful with people around her. Most especially around her friends and loved ones. But alone? She's vulnerable. Incapable as a single person. Being reliant towards other is her biggest weakness.

She didn't expect her connection to the Prodigal was dangerous. Kidnapped by an unknown affiliate, in which was discovered to be the Yakuza, Emery disappeared for two months before both she came back on her own.
It was unheard of. The fact that the police and the Prodigal agents failed to find her before she made her way back home. And despite she managed to come back unscathed... Emery could not remember as to how she did so.

Without me, where will she be now? For those two months; that would have been long enough to be able to find her. I spent two months thinking in the dark, planning my way out of their base but this whole time she had been waiting for someone to save her.

Yet no one came. It was only me.

I am everything she doesn't have.

I am everything she needs to be.

++++++

Elois is a mentally resilient woman who bears the responsibility of enduring several hardships. While many worry for her safety, her strong determination prevents her from depending too much on them. She is a calm and collective (and sometimes can be considered emotionless) compared to her original counterpart. Though described as one who doesn't display much emotion, she is passionate for guarding the safety of Emery, away from all the physical and mental pain she will go through in the future. She acts passively to her superiors' concerns and expresses respect for them. Whenever possible she seeks to reach quick, efficient, and decisive conclusions to conflicts. Although she may seem like a passive stoic, Elois is gregarious enough to congratulate inferiors with an open smile.

Because of Emery's constant need of companionship and values them over anything else, she undergoes an odd fear of being alone and becomes very anxious whenever she places any harm towards those she loves. However, Elois is the complete opposite and not afraid to be blunt, honest, and likely upfront about her feelings... even if it hurts the others' feelings. With this nature, she would rather work independently to prevent any further conflict with her peers.
If she were to work with a group, she will automatically put herself as the leader and will use those working for her to get things done - completely disregarding their emotions.

    > Emery rarely knows about it either, but finds out about it as she unconsciously becomes too familiar with the computer(s) the both of them share. This means that Emery does know how to hack.
  • Elois uses her hacking abilities to try to delve deeper into the Prodigal's records and files.

CHILDHOOD

"I have a friend who is very rich and famous in Asia. Every year he could fly over to see me and he would bring his twin sons. When you were a baby, one of sons would love to hold and take care of you... I always remembered that you were always excited to see him when you were little. And you'd cry for him every time he leaves out the door. You'd find so many creative ways to climb out of your crib just to be with him! That's how you're so clever!"

- Emery's Mother

Emery was born from parents that left the Philippines to pursue the American dream, and met in the wonderful weathered coast in San Diego. She is the second and youngest child of the Espada family. She was a healthy child but born with one single complication: she was born blind on her left eye.

But the difference in her eyes never made her different; she got along with people of her age of all different backgrounds but she mostly found peace with her best friends. She was a decently smart individual who rarely got into trouble, and very much enjoyed going to school just to be with her friends and classmates. In her home, she very much preferred time by herself, drawing and playing games in her awful lonesome.

However Emery rarely remembers much of her early childhood, but her mother always reminds her that there was something important missing about it that she couldn't recall at all.

TEENAGE LIFE

"You might not remember it now, but I've felt compelled to hold you in my arms back when you were a baby. Even now, a wonderful young lady, it doesn't change now. I hope you would let me. Maybe it was meant to be when we've finally saw each other again over fifteen years later."

- Hope

Emery developed an introverted behavior starting from her middle school years and only stuck with two of her friends. She dedicated most of those two years in middle school studying and drawing and found out that socializing was rather a struggle to her in the long run.

Yet in high school she felt that her highly introverted character would discourage her from starting brand new as a freshman. Eventually ignoring her studies led to her making friends with an interesting set of people, but these people that she stuck with all throughout high school eventually became one of the closest people she had in her life. For a while she was in a relationship with a rough and tough upperclassman, but their relationship was broken after they drifted apart.

At the age of 17, a few months after she broke up with Hyde, under the requirements of her high school, she took this opportunity to volunteer at her old elementary school. From there, she fell upon a very young well-dressed teacher during her volunteer work. She was instantly captivated by his appearance and developed a one-sided crush until he started to notice.
He was rather amused with the whole romantic situation, and only planned to satisfy her with small, short-ended flirts. Yet discovering who she was made him think much different and now he feels as if she made to love him. However, he wanted to start off as friends before waiting a whole year to comfortably pursue a romantic relationship.

ADULTHOOD

"From what I'm seeing. this Elois is protecting her from us, the bitter-faced girl believes Emery's enemy are those that value us as important. We shouldn't have pushed her too hard, now she's scared and too dependent on Elois in this world of ours..."

- Viktor

Her relationship with Hope was official once she turned 18, which was not long before she graduated high school. She wasn't necessarily ready to leave her home and enter the dorm life, thus decided to take it slow in a nearby community college with her friends. She felt as if her life was slow and would eventually turn mute, which highly was concerning for poor Emery and often vented with Hope about the situation. She was introduced into the Prodigal soon after Hope's suggestion to try something new and challenge herself as a personal overall. Hope simply saw Emery as a perfect potential of a leader, but no one else seemed to see it. Hence the amount of pressure put Espada into near psychological stress to a point she isolated herself after her constant failures.

However, many people believed that she chose to be isolated from everyone. Even Emery herself believed that the Prodigal was the direct cause of this newfound change.
But instead, the incident of her being kidnapped was what created "Elois". Trapped in a room by herself during her disappearance had awakened this counterpart before Emery's mind could be mentally damaged from potential drama. To save her, Elois broke out and the two months of her disappearance, she managed to plan an escape and come back home with the help of a wealthy lawyer who was curiously touring America. This whole time, Emery had little to no recollection of her abduction.

For more than over two months of near isolation, she came out a brand new person. And it took everyone she knew by surprise. Whatever psychological damage had done to her merely awakened to this new counterpart. Regardless of Elois, Emery was still able to live normally but Elois would be highly regarded in the Prodigal world. Yet sometimes Emery is too reliant on her abilities and completely disregarding those around her.

TLDR

  • Emery was an introvert from elementary to middle school but wanted to start something new in highschool. She made friends and before she graduated her senior year, she fell in love with an elementary teacher named Hope.
  • Hope and Emery eventually get into a relationship and Hope introduces her to the Prodigal to help further her skills.
  • The Prodigal was too stressful for her to handle as an administrative member. Soon enough, she was kidnapped and thru the isolated period, she developed a second personality known as "Elois."
  • Elois is a cold-hearted individual who often pushed away Emery's loved ones, believing that they were in the way of Emery's future goals and her progress as a prestigious member of the Prodigal.
