Let's See Historical Based OC's

Posted 5 years, 11 months ago by thegrumpydruid

They don't have to be living in history, but lets see some OC's based off some time periods or inspired form something in history, whether it be an event, a time period, particular items.... Anything!

Maybe they are a space samurai
Maybe a modern gladiator
Perhaps ye olde knight
Do we have an old ship captain?

Hayato thegrumpydruid

Start this off with Hayato, he's a typical traditional samurai OC. I major in anthropology, focusing on East Asia, so I decided to pile it all into one OC

fuelli

You probably already know them since we are mutuals but ;;

  • Isabelle & Tobie because WWII is one of my special interests
  • Raffaello because the Italian Renaissance is aesthetic
I may have some other but they're either less marked or underdeveloped lmao
Kielo Caine

Kielo was born in 1917 and lives in the Torne River! I rarely if EVER make OCs who are supposed to exist in the real wold but my friend had a vetehi in a real world setting and I loved the idea so much Kielo was born. Torne River is actually going through my childhood home, as I used to live on the border between Sweden and Finland and the river marks as the border!

Michael gummy

Pretty much all of my ocs are historical based, since my storyline takes place over thousands of years haha

I would say Michael shows it the most since he has a thing for historical fashion. He is old as hell too, over 2000 years.

James was born sometime in the sixteenth century england, havent picked an exact date yet but hes introduced during the Victorian era, a very industrial man!

Katherine was born in the sixteenth century europe around the same time as James. So shes very much based on that time period!

Ivy was originally based on Medival Spain, but she evolves a lot so idk how much that shows

Augghhh so many of them to name.... Ill be back... to show off more sometime

Thomas Steel thegrumpydruid

Thomas is a character in the roughly 1800's, Outlaw turned Governor... your typical bad boy cowboy!

 Tsétéra Derre fuelli

I'm already back because I FORGOT A DUDE LMAO

(Also a good excuse to bump this thread since I love it tfgyhb I really enjoyed browsing through your historical OCs you guys)

So, Tsétéra (as the shitpost pic I'm using here shows) is loosely based on Napoleon Bonaparte, lmao. Also his whole species and their culture is kinda historical inspired; for instance, their calendar is directly based on the French Republican Calendar. I wanted to give an uncommon twist to my alien species since most of them are kinda futuristic or modern, and I was like "hey, let's do the opposite" haha

 Yaroslav the Wise Ledokol

...I have rather many OCs whom I created because of inspirations from history of Slavic nations. However, what I'm not sure if whether these kinds of OCs are what you wish to see.   There are 'city-turned-human;' OCs (which I practically need to read the entire history of that city, sometime dating back to over 2000 years to catch the city's prominent role and aspect to mould into the human counterpart's personality) and the latest growing group is what Yaroslav here belongs to - 'historical-figures-turned-magical-fighters'.

Though I admit that the original concept is based from the game Fate Grand order, I deliberately choose the historical figures whom aren't included in the game. The lesser known the person is, the more I want to create an OC based on them. Yaroslav the Wise, unless for people who know the history of Kievan Rus' (the initial state of East Slavs dating back from 9th-13th century that later broke up to become Belarus, Russia and Ukraine nowadays), seems to be rather lesser known than Ivan the Terrible who is his descendant roughly 500 years after Yaroslav's death. Personally, of all eras of the East Slavic nations' history, the Kievan Rus' era fascinates me the most.

Dr Joeseph Willheim thegrumpydruid

I've got this Vampire who's been through WW2. He's very.... creepy? Comes with the vampire thing I suppose. He was a doctor then and now in the modern era and had to deal with moving constantly due to him never aging. I usually never do European history, but well, here we go.
I have a few OC's I need to still make up and plan the world for a 'country' I made up based off Luxembourg (from there myself)

Nikolai Byko PicklePantry

Nikolai's backstory is heavily based around the Soviet Union during WWII, but that's mainly because around the time I made him I had to do a research project on Stalin! So I put a lot of the stuff I learned into Nikolai's story to help me remember, yet over the years I managed to smooth it down to fit with him better.

Lacrimas SlyAsAFox

Lacrimas is based on nobles life around baroque era. Her whole backstory and character concept is revolves around it c:

Alex cosmicconundrum

this is alex! he's your run of the mill british american growing up during the 20s-30s, who also happens to play a small and (some would say) insubstantial part as an airforce pilot during wwii.

Harahel fuelli

I've been thinking about it for a while, and thought I was going to let his time period kinda vague at first, but that's canon now. Harahel's story is set during the French Third Republic. Lmao

It fits both the general vibe his personality gives and the original material he was slightly inspired by in my opinion, so... I also low-key wanted to explore this period through an OC, so here he is to fill my needs. :")

 1. James Coldwell creepsheep
