Q you wish someone would ask to/about your OC?

Posted 6 years, 1 month ago (Edited 5 months, 12 days ago) by hedgemaze

So there are a number of threads for asking questions to or about other people's characters, but do you ever have that one question you really wish someone would ask that they never do? A detail you think is particularly interesting or mysterious, or maybe just something you think would be really fun to talk about, but there isn't really a forum game that suits it? Well, here's the thread for you.

Post IC (but you don't have to write IC unless you want to) as the character in question-- or stay OOC if your question is about a group of your characters, or all of your characters. Write a question you have wished people would ask you, then let the person below you make their guess or theory as to the answer. You can edit your post later to tell them if they're right, or give the answer, or you can stay mysterious if you want to (if you don't think you're going to remember to come back and edit your post, you can just put the right answer under a spoiler cut or blackout text). Make sense?

Rules:

  • Keep everything SFW!
  • Please ping the person above you so you make sure that they see your response! If you're not sure how to do this, you simply type @THEIRUSERNAME, and they will be notified! This will not work if you edit the ping into your comment later (like if you wanted to claim and then edit your question in); you must put it in when you first submit the comment.
  • You are NOT ALLOWED to skip anyone in this thread. If you cannot see the post above you because the poster or you have blocked each other, wait for another person to comment before replying to the thread. Feel free to bump the thread to encourage others to participate!
  • Wait at least a couple of posts before going again.
  • You can bump the thread as often as you like; I don't mind.
  •  BE NICE and have fun!

Bane hedgemaze

I would think she ultimately wants the crimelord she encountered to get his comeuppance, or maybe she wants to bring down organized crime in general? Or atone for her past by helping people?

I'm kinda oblique about Bane's past on his TH profile. What kind of "mistakes" do you think he made in his past, specifically?

There's definitely more to it, but you're right!

 Oliv Velasquez BlankStorefront

Based on what I'm reading, I get the impression that he wound up trusting the wrong people and falling into a bad crowd, maybe becoming loyal to them? Perhaps disowned by his parents and left homeless because of it? In general, getting into a very poor relationship with authority figures.

--

What is the dynamic between Oliv and Jason? What causes them to clash, and how has it affected Oliv in the long term?

--

HEY that's actually like, 90% correct! Like, totally on point about Oliv's childhood insecurities.

As for Jason, yeah, he's always been a very "kill or be killed" type, but in a way that's hidden under an approachable exterior. He's extroverted and seems generally fun to be around, but will also drop people and alienate them in a snap, even over very small things, or sometimes for no reason at all. He definitely fears commitment, whether the relationship be romantic or platonic. He will tend to use wealth and charisma to make friends and/or date, but he never lets anything progress and barely ever really shows his true colors. He's dropped/dumped some people in very nasty and scathing ways, too.

As for Oliv, well, they'd known his true nature from the get-go, as they were the person he would take it all out on, thereby causing most of their childhood insecurities. As they got into their teen years, they pretty much started cluing in on his bullshit and how much he'd kind of messed them up. That's where the clashing started, as they started to fight back. Jason takes criticism poorly, and started lashing out at Oliv in various ways, ranging from passive aggression, to locking them out of the house when their parents weren't home. He even broke some of their belongings a few times when very upset. Between Jason's retaliation and being cut off from Leo, Oliv hit an all-time low emotionally. They retaliated in return, and things would escalate to physical fights, which... really, even back then Oliv was much stronger than Jason so he'd end up far more banged up than them. Camber started to intervene seriously, and the siblings just started avoiding each other altogether. By the time Leo was with Amy, Oliv would use that as an excuse to leave the house often. As for when Leo had to move into the Velasquez house, it just got... more awkward, but they still kept avoiding.

Now having moved out, Oliv almost never sees Jason. Their only encounters as adults have been to visit their parents, and at least one of these instances led the siblings to get very drunk just to try and put up with each other, which actually just made things ten times worse. So, they don't visit their parents at the same time anymore.

SO UH BASICALLY yeah, very bad, Jason pretty much emotionally abused Oliv when they were kids and overall their relationship just got worse and worse over time.

RAW reinapepiada

This is an interesting one! Maybe Jason is the source of Oliv's early childhood insecurities? Whic made them become more aggressive which in turn made them take it out on other people as well. In a way, Oliv tried to protect themself but as a child it would've been difficult to know exactly how to do that in a healthy way. I'm also assuming Jason's nature is of a 'kill or be killed' type, or that he's just kind of antisocial and also has a power complex that manifests in a different way.

____

Since RAW is an angel and so devoted to their god and all of that... How come they still exist after their god disappeared? I can tell you that they believe their god hasn't died, but their god definitely died.

___

You're actually very accurate! Especially on that they became their own lifeform and that they became a real angel.

The mystery lies within those two questions; well, they were their own lifeform since the beginning. They were controlled by god, but only in certain moments. In any other moment, RAW actually had free will! They were conditioned into thinking they didn't, and that they had to give every waking second to their god, no matter if god didn't give them attention.

After their god died, RAW was just completely free. However, in their god's last seconds of life, they ejected RAW from their reality and gave them their current angel outfit status, with no explanation. RAW took it straight forward, and while they haven't heard any word from their god since then, they believe they've been dressed up for a new task. Or at least that's what they believed at first, since it's been a very long time, and they still haven't heard a word from them. They feel extremely aimless, but not being an angel would be a horrible insult to god, right? Since their life was a gift from them after all!

 Emilia GummyFontaine

Maybe RAW''s life force became separate from god's somehow? As they lived and continued to develop their own desires, feelings & thoughts, they became less dependent on their god for existence, and became their own person in their own right (possibly also how they managed to become a real angel)

How do you think the relationship between Ailis and Elodie would develop? (They're not acquainted yet, but their relationship is part of the story)

Actually Elodie and AIlis's lives almost never intersect at first, they are barely aware of each other (Ailis only knows her as the student council president). Their first meeting is their alter egos briefly coming into contact. They will find out their true identities later on, which both becomes a point of bonding and conflict between them. They are opposites, with Elodie firmly rejecting her magical fate and Ailis enthusiastically accepting hers.

But you are right that they'll become friends later on! I think once they've become closer, Elodie and Ailis will feel less alone in their individual struggles and be able to face them together

Thanks for the reply >v<

Smiley PicklePantry

Maybe they disagreed because Jimmy actually cared about doing things right while most of his colleagues were corrupt cops? I'd say they'd disagree with him, y'know, murdering criminals, but I don't think they knew that he was the one doing that. Or shoot, maybe it was BECAUSE he was both the good and bad cop? He's nice to the criminal he's interrogating one minute, then punching them the next?

Smiley always has the bag over his face because he's paranoid that someone will see him in a rare moment he's not smiling. But, well... what do you think he looks like under the mask?

Ohhhhh hohohohohohooohohoho you're SO CLOSE!
Makes me think you've figured it out!
And trust me, everyone's seen him at least once without the bag. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

 Sebastian Shale gardevoir

I've always imagined his true look under the mask is surprisingly nice! If he didn't wear the mask, he may even look kind of trustable. Brown or light brown(Not dirty blonde) hair that is cut around ear-length, the top being a little longer and be able to blow in the wind a little. His eyes would be blue perhaps. So in truth, he looks really good.

What would be the key to make Sebastian be actually truthful to someone and potentially open up? Or would that be possible if you're not his little sister?

 Leo Greymalkin BlankStorefront

With the information given, my guess would be that Sebastian is very insecure and feels that others don't value what he has to think or say. Though his behavior certainly can't help that, it's the primarily way these feelings manifest. Overall, he strikes me as someone who would require a lot of understanding and patience to open him up, but possibly even tough love from time to time.

--

Back when Leo ran away, how did he get back in touch with Oliv after two years of having his contact with them cut off? How did the unexpected reunion turn out?

--

Not too accurate, but my information is pretty vague it's understandable!

Admittedly, this is something I've revised a bunch of times, but currently how I have it set up is that the two were primarily talking online after Oliv's family moved out of state. When Leo knew he was getting cut off from the internet, he told them, but also promised that he'd contact them again, same place, whenever he could. When he ran away, he stole his phone back from Paula along with the money to take the longhaul bus. The phone didn't have service, but he could still use it to connect to the internet once he got to a safe place with connection.
He did get in contact with them, and they decided to meet up in a park. The reunion was a bit awkward, both of them cried, but Leo broke out sobbing while Oliv stayed more composed. They probably hugged for like, a solid minute. Oliv also probably asked about his face scars.
From that point, Oliv invited him to their house so he could get rest.

After that, it leads into Camber dumping Leo on Amy, pretty much. Sorry if my explanation is kind of a mess, I'm kind of tired xx;;

Roswell van Breek fizzelston

Prob something super mundane as walking in on each other in a public area? It was prob very awkward one of them cried, they didn't know what to say to each other and decided to swap new numbers/mail around while still being in this public area (sorry if im totally wrong)

Oh snazzles! And dw about the lore dump I inderstand it completly 👌

How was Ros' relationship with in his older bro? Where they bros? Did they hate each other 👀?

AYE (or should i say EYE), we have a winnar!

They were p close/best buddies when they were younger entered a 'its nit that like i think hes mt friend' but secertly love each other phase second and the 'nope its all his fault' phase third 👌

Grant Rowan carbon8tion

Rosswell seems like he'd be the kind of brothers to pretend he hates his brother but actually love him dearly and treasure the time they spend together. Especially since he's a twin, twins just have a special bond, yknow? Maybe he also probably thinks its his brothers fault he got sent to the church and is mad at him for that?

--

What was the deal with Grant and his brothers acting carrer? Just how successfull was the family sitcom they played in and why do they not wanna show up for interviews/acknowledge their part in it?

----

Pretty much! Sadly, child actors aren't always treated fairly, some nasty things went on while they were working with the studo, and their self esteem dropped to an all-time low. They both keep quiet about it even to today, but suffering through the physical and verbal abuse from their producer together helped them grow closer, they really do trust and care for eachother now even though Grant himself acts like he doesn't give a shit about his bro. So some good came out if it, at least.

hedgemaze

I'm guessing it was pretty popular, but it reminds them of a time in their lives that was unhappy and stressful for them, and something they would rather leave in the past and not have to answer questions about.

Why is my comic (and the battle of the bands competition that it's about) named Catband?

Aw haha, that's not quite it, but that's a really cute idea. :')

Drusilla Tristan LunaBell

Okay so this sounds silly but there was probably a band that had a heavy cat motif? They became so big and influential in the music industry that the show 's unofficial name was catband before becoming it's official name? In honor of that cat band?

Why is Dru human?

OMG winner winner! Yeah of course. Both parents have a recessive traits for humans so yep. ouob

I? Don't know crap about TV shows? But I want to say Stranger Things?

What in the world is the bond between Kalypso and Germ? God I wish people would actively ask

Hehehe, nope! But this contains MAJOR spoilers for stuff I'm doing so here we go.

So the whole story, every Organization out there, is interdimensionally linked. So it's a long weird family/dimensional association tree, but I'll give you the VERY VERY BASICS. So Kalypso is a space demon, and he thinks he's the sole exception of the dimensional link rule (that all things have a dimensional equivalent somewhere out there) until he finds out in a super meta realization that he's actually part of a fabricated multiverse created for the enjoyment of people who read about it. Then of course he figures out that he's linked to Dr. Levin Drachenfeuer, the creator of Pepper and--SPOILERS, I WARNED YOU--Marimo. And Marimo turns out to be the dimensional equivalent of Germ, and through a realization of things he's seen past through the story, Kalypso figures out that Germ was BIOLOGICALLY FABRICATED through Germany's tail's saliva. Germany is somehow linked to EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE GERMANIUM ORGANIZATION, where Dr. Levin was originally from. This effectively makes Germ a servant to the Germanium Organization and explains why they keep the closest eye on her possible. This is where the Argon Organization comes in, because Ris wants to take over as many lands as possible, and is working alongside the Germanium Organization. But wait--we didn't realize until now that if Germany is linked to Levin and created Germ, and Kalypso is Levin, and Marimo and Germ are linked, that makes Kalypso the creators of both Marimo and Germ. Argon captures Kalypso and forces him to work with them, he takes Germ and goes to the Francium Organization's dimension, where they are separated. Germ gets captured by the "up-stand-creatures in the white coats" and Kalypso is running rampant making maps of the Francium dimension with a bunch of space bounty hunters after him. So the bond technically is, in a weird sense, creator and creation, but I do like to think of them as more misfit partners in crime.

I'm rereading this and to a stranger's eyes they may think they're having a stroke.
