Flower Frenzy

Several months passed. Devin had long since canceled his plans to move away from Vermont. Now he had one mission only, and that was to find her.

He went back to the clinic and asked about Lydia, but they informed him that she was no longer working there. She wasn't listed on the website, either.

He started to worry, knowing that she could be anywhere in the world. His protective instincts were overbearing. He'd think about her so much, that he'd sleepwalk outside because he was neglecting his medications. And this was the extreme type of sleepwalking; leaping from building to building in a craze.

As the days went on and his anxiety to find her increased, his sleepwalking got worse. Every day he'd wake up with ripped clothes, laying somewhere in the woods or in the street. He had to find his way home every time, avoiding hitching any rides. More and more of his shirts were being torn day by day, but he was too worried to take any strong medication to put him to sleep.

The wolf was adapting to Devin's desires. Just by a sniff of the flower, he could unlock her scent and be able to detect it from miles away. This helped him to finally find her.

In his unconscious, feral being, he watched from the backyard of her home. It was in a fairly rural area, quite a distance from any other houses. There was a small white car in the driveway. Devin started to become slightly conscious as he heard her voice from inside the house. He crawled around to the window and saw her through a crack in the curtain. She was in her bedroom preparing to go to sleep for the day, completely unaware of the two glowing eyes watching from her window.

Feral Devin retreated back home, having completed his mission. That morning when Devin awoke, he didn't remember immediately. He threw his tattered shirt into the trash, took a shower, ate breakfast, and proceeded to water his plant. But as he was doing so, an image flashed in his head. It was the name of the address; 315 Seventh Street. It was then when he realized the good side to the sleepwalking. He immediately searches the address on his phone to see that it was a location 48 miles away. It would be at least a 40-minute drive, and he was more than willing to make it.

Having over-watered the plant a little, he grabbed his car keys and got on the road.
