Awakening
She wakes in a cold sweat from abyssal nightmares. The black moon is gone, and Dezzy isn't there.
Something is wrong inside her. Not exactly sickness, not exactly bad.
But not good either.
When she finds her friends over at the little hospital, they don't seem to think much of the feeling she can't put words to. And she doesn't either. It's easy to let the small oddity slip away.
Until the ogres are bearing down on Alistair.
Something echoes inside her, a nightmare wrenching its way out of her dreams. It springs to her fingertips, cold. And then a ray of magic ice collides with the ogre's club, throwing it aside before it can hurt him.
She stops and stares at her hands, still misting. Physically, outwardly, nothing about her has changed in this moment. But her heart beats with this new magic, the all-consuming darkness of her dreams. And something is awakening inside her.
But even such an energy manifests from her as protection. Even this cannot corrupt her. And she will use it to defend her friends.
