Party Drinks

Outside, the dark skies were only lit up with stars and the moon, Pale spots that stood out against the dark sky that was filled with just as dark clouds that just looked like someone took their finger and smudged the sky. Most of the buildings down below were unlit, many having returned for the night. But not this one place, that was packed and active as can be.

The brightly lit bar was packed with people, all sitting and chatting quietly for the moment as they had settled again. It was a homely atmosphere if you liked crowds, everyone was so sociable and willing to chat with someone they had just met, a big family of a sort that was ready to welcome everyone with open arms and friendly words. Suddenly, the quietness that had taken over exploded into noise and cheer as the screens lit up to signal the start of a new year was close now. People watched and raised their glasses to toast as they watched the timer flicker onto the siad screen placed amid everyone and everything. Another round of drinks were poured and handed out to everyone and every dragon that had decided to join, no one denied the chance to have a good and fun time with the varying people who came together on such a fine night. It was the time of cheer and happiness, no amount of stormy weather or winter chills was about to dampen and ruin the stand that they had gathered at.

Off to the side of the more rowdy group, a set of two noodles wrapped around their own smaller and thin delicate glasses of their own. They weren’t all that big so they easily fit on one of the bean bags together, overlapping a little but neither seemed to mind as they were still together. One more on the edge of the seating arrangement looked more into the party then the other, the more yellow in color one with scythe like wings stuck her head out to talk and chat with other people as they passed, more than happy to converse after a few drinks of her choice. More than likely just juice, but she just liked parties. Of course the equally pleasant people paused what they were doing to happily chat with the noodle, leaving her with a nice head pat and a wish of a great new years as they were called off by others or returned on their to point B traveling.

“It’s so loud now.” Sheen grumbles, wrapping more firmly around her drink to sip at with her mostly white and colorful zebra striped tail. She was in honesty was the one that suggested they join such a big event, join in and tangle with the strangers they didn’t know at all and just laze around and drink. But now her fickle mood had changed and it wasn’t as fun as she thought it may be. Her plan to curl up with Essense was not going as she planned as the other would interact more with the passing strangers.

“I don’t think it’s too loud, they just all get excited sometimes is all.” The yellow colored dragon said oh so cheerily, waving as another stranger had left the chatting with her in favor of going back to their table. An understandable thing really.

“Well I do.” Sheen huffed, pouting a bit but did want to see the New Year's countdown. It was an exciting part of the year, watching it slowly tick down until the new year had arrived in full swing. “Well, maybe it’s not too bad.” She finally gave in, sipping again from her glass.
