Fireworks

Spending a bit of time away from Yin , Nadhiya of course was going to invite her to the next thing the next chance she got!

It's what best friends did, right? Right. So Nadhiya heard about the Hanging Lanterns Festival that would be happening, including fireworks, so of course she was going to invite Yin! Nahrin didn't seem to mind, choosing to instead delve into some books she had picked up while at the markets the other day. Nadhiya felt a tiny bit bad, but once more Nahrin assured her it was fine and that Nadhiya need not spend all her time with her. She was perfectly capable of entertaining herself. Should she wish to go to the festival, it would be little issue for her to find her way down that way.

Assured that she wasn't going to be hurting her sister, Nadhiya readied up and quickly found Yin with a grin. Together they headed down to enjoy the festival. At least until her actual date arrived~ Kardia no doubt was going to sweep up his girlfriend the first chance he got, proclaim how cute she was, and probably give her (or try to) kisses. It was becoming normal but it still made Nadhiya fluster a bit each time she saw this happen and look away. ANYWAY. Back to enjoying the time with Yin! Others met with them soon enough, like Sigil (who was waiting for Otto) and Dr. Isolde. Thankfully that asshole Killian wasn't here. HUFFS.

It was nice to just hang out and chat, mostly catching up and then figuring out what the festival meant to the people here. She got two tease the two, only to end up eating dirt as she awkwardly tripped over her kimono trying to escape Kardia. Yin's concern was usual when Nadhiya got hurt, and so she tried to assure her it was fine. The hand extending out to her by someone NOT Yin was decidely new. It took her by surprise when this person actually managed to pull her up back into a standing position. Granted she did help them because she didn't want pressure on their bad leg, but it was still more than she had expected.

As their conversation continued, she hadn't even noticed they were holding hands. Not even as her hand slipped from theirs in a natural movement, waving goodbye to Yin and Kardia as they parted. However she DID notice when this time Isolde offered their hand and after a moment she knowingly took it, linking their fingers together. It was...nice. Very nice. With a smile she tugged them towards the lantern booths so they could make some lanterns to send off! Soon forgetting that she was even holding their hand until she had to let go.

The evening passed quickly, and soon the last call was made for lanterns. Nadhiya's own was one of pink and black, with crystals of course. It was...her. But hidden in the crystals were inscribed little messages only she knew. Her wishes, dreams, and hopes...things she hoped someone out there would see and feel gracious enough to one day grant. Taking Isolde's lantern with her own, she set them to float around each other, before backing up and watching them be sent off. When the fireworks went off, she jumped at first but then relaxed, tilting her head up to watch them.

They were beautiful. Their noise was loud and strong, and yet they were beautiful. With each reverberating boom of the fireworks, nadhiya felt more and more of her wall cracking and crumbling away. Things and events started to clear in her mind and as she glanced over the beach and took in friends both new and old...she felt herself smile. Perhaps she had been worrying too much about certain things..and judging herself too harshly...
