Once, long ago, the warriors of StoneClan ruled the old-growth forest they called home. But when calamity struck, they became untethered from StarClan and StoneClan was shattered. Generations later, the stars aligned and StarClan made one last-ditch effort to save their children from fading into the night. Does one young cat have the strength to rebuild stone?

Shattered StoneClan is a motley collection of disparate cultures--rogue, loner, barn cat, and kittypet--who have found themselves in an ecological disaster after the territory's former residents, Old StoneClan, were displaced by Twoleg development. Their territory is large, encompassing a mazelike Twolegplace and the expanse of agricultural land beyond, but its sparse hunting grounds have created a choke point for predators, prey, and cats alike. The rogues of The Stones claim the fierce warrior legacy of Old StoneClan, but street life is tough and the tipped cats who are captured by Twoleg return changed--if they return at all. Old StoneClan's other members scattered to the winds after The Shattering, but some of their descendants still remain in isolated groups throughout the territory. The region's barn cats, once isolated yet affable loners, have found themselves in the middle of the old forest's exodus: their parents' generosity was once widely known, but they find themselves unable to support the influx of hunters on their land. Recent Twoleg development has brought a wave of curious young kittypets eager to play with the cats of the wild.
