Jīn Yanlin

méi guī’s disciple, and by far his most rambunctious one. yanlin has been following the old man around as long as she’s been able to walk, and followed his teachings as diligently as a rebellious young child would allow. yanlin was a bit of a magical prodigy, and got the knack of transformation magic surprisingly quick. even more surprisingly, yanlin grew up to be quite the distinguished young woman, and became a teacher for newborn dragons much like méi guī. but when she’s not corraling children around, there’s a real rascal hidden behind her public face.

to the palace grounds, yanlin is a resourceful and dependable young woman. but in truth, she’s a feisty, rude heap of trouble. it’s safe to say that every little bit of mischief has her to blame, and most fun-loving elderly are fond enough of her to help cover it up. rest assured, yanlin is very aware of what she’s doing. she cares a great deal for people, she is simply committed to being an agent of chaos wherever she goes. people may want to reconsider leaving their children in her care, lest they come back with odd new habits…

there’s a bit of a lazy side to yanlin, as well. there is a reason she has as many assistants as she does — she simply can’t be arsed to maintain her household, even if she is the heir of quite the prestigious one! but hey, they’re noble dragons, right? so it’s normal to have lots of servants? and simply laze about in scanty robes all day? of course!
