Kirai is a girl who loves to play around. Whether it's by pranking others, making up games, or being with her new friends, she never seems to lose energy. She loves to be the leader of activities and likes to have her own way. While she is loud, adventurous, and rather immature, as expected of a child, Kirai also possesses very strong emotions fitting of her subspecies. She is capable of holding great resentment for others, despising those who have only made people suffer. This resentment takes form in her extremely destructive abilities. She is very talented at lying and hiding her intentions as well, contributing to her conniving ways. She used to believe that the only way Voids can find salvation from humans was to get rid of the source of the problem in the first place, though she has mostly grown out of this mindset due to her close friend's love for humanity and people. She is also difficult when it comes to change, tending to latch on to things that she easily recognizes and grasps instead. While rowdy and playful, it is tough for her to learn to care about matters that she doesn't already know about, preferring things she already knows by heart to bring her comfort. Her feelings can also be quite complex when it comes to matters of abandonment and mistreatment.
She was a bit more of a teacher's pet and goody-two-shoes type when she was human. Otherwise, she was ultimately the same.

Whenever she manifests her human form through Nao's hair, she always seems to form a pair of scissors in her hand along with it, despite it having no actual use. Surely that must mean something...?

Rona was a young, adventurous child who liked games and pranks. As a human, she loved bats and constantly tried to act like one. Her parents gave her special plastic bat wings that she never took off, even during serious occasions. She met her fate during a Halloween party at a sleepover. However, she has been through a Hollow Night once before and lived, meeting a mysterious friend that protected her until it was over, but couldn’t see him; she was only guided by his voice. Kirai would mention her new friend to whoever she talked to, raising eyebrows. She was the first Parasite Void that the organization has ever discovered, often referred to as “Prototype 0.” They tried to genetically engineer her to get her to eradicate Voids but it just ended up making her want to eradicate all humans instead because of all the suffering building up inside of her. She fakes her coexistence and pretends she’s willingly doing it and to change but really she is waiting for a strong enough Hollow Night to strike to combine with her own power to make an “eternal Hollow Night” and basically kill all human life and convert the world into a place for voids instead. She grows too close to Ruru, Hotaru and somewhat Akiha as much as she hates to admit it, so she’s able to be talked down after being fucking blasted by a Hotaru laser. sigh kids and their laser fights. Nowadays, she attends Iroha Academy with her human friends Mogu and Chieri, and her best friend Hotaru. She is a part of Mogu’s Hero Club.

Best friends until the end. At first, Kirai only faked being friends in order to garner less suspicion on her true intentions in the outside world. Hotaru's innocence and childlike nature, which Kirai missed having herself, did eventually grow on her and genuinely considers Hotaru her first friend and only best friend, and believes Hotaru to be the only one that could possibly understand her feelings. Because of their friendship, it stung the both of him upon Kirai's betrayal. Kirai could not deny that he and the outside world made her more happy because she learned there's more to life than mindless survival. After getting literally blasted to death in a full on laser fight THEY ARE 11 AND 13 AT THE TIME BY THE WAY, an exhausted Kirai monologues that she doesn't even know what she wants anymore; does she want to kill Voids, or does she want to kill man? Hotaru makes her realize that what she wants is just to live as a child with her new friend, and not as a weapon.
They both enrolled in all the same schools and became inseperable after Kirai realized the outside world is fun with friends like her around. They eventually graduate college together andddddd theennnn have no clue what to do with their life afterwards. At least they have video games and funny memes for them to lose their shit over until they figure out something. Kirai still likes among us even at 20 years old by the way and she talks about how her and Hotaru were into it before the "normies" got to it. Who the FUCK taught her the word normies.

good god these two have their work cut out for them. Anyways she's just like Hotaru these two and Aoki babysit them quite often. Kirai is more rowdy so they ACTUALLY have to enforce discipline (which they rarely have to do with Hotaru) when she's around, but she's more normal when Hotaru distracts her from committing devious actions. Also she NEEDS to stop touching their cord like Kirai they can feel it every time you know. It's not like there's no feeling there.
Also like Hotaru, Hime and Ouka often have to pull a "kid to work day" with her. She actually will eat the taquitos bear handed if both of them look away for 2 seconds so godspeed!
"She's so weird, weirder than Laos! B-But she's so nice to me, I love her. I don't know why she cares about what I or Laos like so much. We are just void of everything, humans aren't supposed to be caring! I really don't understand!"
Due to being Laos's host, whom she likes to regularly be around, it will only make sense for Kirai to become familiar with Ruru. Kirai thought of her as boring and just "another typical human," and wrote her off as an old, slow, and out of touch lady. However, Ruru genuinely cares for Kirai like her own, and tries to be involved with her interests and any conversations she wants to have, even if she might not be up to date with the latest trends and is always listening to any problems Kirai might be dealing with emotionally. She even names any new critters she tames after any TV show or game she might like. It really makes Kirai happy, and likes the feeling of being cared for and acknowledged like a child should be, but she doesn't understand why it makes her so happy, especially by a human of all people. She comes to terms with these feelings in the long run. Kirai eventually realizes Ruru is one of a kind, and loves her to bits and pieces, and thinks the way Ruru tries to get into her interests in her old, haggy ways is perfect. She hopes Ruru stays around "forever and ever!" Kirai is also glad that Laos is in great hands. Ruru is also the only human that was able to pierce through Kirai's heart during her apocalyptic rise.
After graduating college and freeloading for a while with Akiha, Kirai eventually decides to become a herpetologist. She eventually finds out that she'll be the apprentice of Ruru, out of all possible people. Kirai was quite excited over the news. Though, she was expecting some special treatment. Phooey!
"He's weird, but when we were locked and caged in that filthy lab, he was there for me! Then they wiped all his memories of me after they turned me into a tool! Damn those lab freaks to hell!"
Big brother to her little sister, and both were attempts to making a genocidal Void to weaponize. Laos got his memory wiped after Kirai turned on the Lab Committee to lower any chances of Kirai getting even an inch of possible escape, but they gradually come back to him. Kirai thinks his whole thing is, uh, acquired, but if you dare say that to his face, Kirai will kick you in the crotch probably. She does love him, even if she doesn't want to watch his play of...dead bugs. Goodness gracious.
Kirai criticized Laos for being so head over heels for Ruru once, and Laos simply replied with, "she has a warmth and beauty like no other human or woman I've ever seen. You will understand soon, Lady Kirai." I suppose he was correct.
