It's highly likely that Brendan Valdez is the only participant in this game who's actually contributed anything of use to society. Unfortunately, this means he is also the most boring to talk about. Their passing interests and curiosity have also drawn them to dabble in various other fields related to mechanics, engineering, and things that don't have to do with those specific words. Every cast needs a guy who’s genuinely normal and well-adjusted, and this would be Brendan - except that they've understood for a long time that being a teenage mechanical engineer doesn't mean that other people think they're normal or well-adjusted. In fact, most of the time, other people think that he lacks social presence due to being constantly busy with 'real work', and they would be correct, and would also ostracize him. Brendan really does want friends, but has been spoken over and ignored so often for anything unrelated to their work that they've given up and are just along for the ride. He's genuinely appreciative of the work he does, but he wishes people would think of him as a person, not a prodigy.
