Alabaster

likes: dark humor, a torch's forgiving warmth | dislikes: giant rats
male (he/him)
mid twenties - he's unsure
'half-mortal' / human
dungeon crawler
chaotic neutral
deadpan, rash, killjoy

- ex-adventurer turned dungeon captive that’s kind of accepted his fate at this point and is completely desensitized to things deemed terrifying. cannot be frightened by any means as hard as the monsters and skeletons may try

- if you painstakingly make your way through the winding and dangerous labyrinth he calls home and find a guy chained to the wall upside down, don’t panic - he’s probably just practicing wall situps. how else you think he’s gonna gain the strength to fend off massive rats wanting first dibs on his strange stew concoctions? (why are big rats such a common rpg enemy, anyway?)

- some people simply don’t approach him at first due to his ghastly and pale appearance; they think Alabaster is an illusion to take adventurers by surprise as they let their guard down and he’s growing real tired of it!

- this character may seem riddled with trauma and terrible experiences but nah, he's doing alright and just doesn't care. most rusty weapon-wielding fiends that ‘take care’ of dungeon crawlers didn’t even make an attempt due to this. quite the strange immunity and a miracle how he’s survived...

if you notice that giant x scar on his face, that was actually one of the many fatal wounds he nearly succumbed to - but he was given a choice by a ghastly figure that he wasn’t sure was actually there, or a hallucination due to blood loss. (grim reaper type of deal, says the same to every fallen person but most refuse) he may either die here like the others, or live on but be trapped in the labyrinth forever...

of course, desperate to live or say anything to prevent drifting off, he whispered an agreement and was gradually brought back to life. this explains his gray skin, a mix of weird resurrection perk and not seeing the sun for many many years. or, well, at least it’s been a while, time feels like it never moves in a gloomy place such as this dungeon.

...unless, that is, a swordsman, mage and grand healer approach a large dungeon door - the swordsman exclaiming there must be treasure and bolting inside without a second thought, the rest soon following?
