travels through the hot and dry dunes and uses illusion magic to draw travelers near a supposed lush oasis in hopes that it'll sway their riches in his favor. the water cools, but does not hydrate, and the palm leaves shield from sunlight, but don't bring a breeze... if approaching the serpent's domain, a false oasis, would you make a deal?

quite the trickster and has a way with getting what he wants. the desert is a lawless land controlled mainly by troublesome bandit groups, so why not do this oh-so-helpful shopkeep a favor and lend a few gold for a waterskin...

or perhaps more, he says under his breath, apologizing for the conveniently timed bright flash of light in your eyes from his gilded jewelry? if you decline, surely you'd be more inclined to have your pockets completely looted once your strength leaves... decisions, decisions...

baizhan warns adventurers about the desert's powerful dune thresher, a massive lizard-like monster waiting behind a locked door at the end of a labyrinth. he emphasizes a wonderful loot haul in all corners of this dungeon, and to find the door's key in the clutches of one of the dune thresher's minions.
