Emperor August's Links
[Related] August has heard plenty of stories of his ancestors, all of which had incredible battles. He envies those times and wishes he had been in their position. What heart racing moments they must have had!
[Related] Roy stayed in the shadows over the years, watching his lineage grow. He supposed he should have expected something like this to happen. Just another issue to add on the list.
[Related] The Fireworks Swordsman, that was the title he heard people refer to his forefather by. He'd heard grand tales of his mystical sword, always assuming it wasn't real. Until he found the truth. A sword like this, he'd be able to slay even the gods.
[Related] August is directly related to him, though it's clear En is dead by this time.
[Related] August was bemused with the fact that he had a distant relative, and that Lan-Ran picked her over him, no less! He's fascinated, but doesn't see much worth in her. All she is is an obstacle keeping him from using the swords to their full potential, so she must be eliminated. Simple as that.
[Related] Royelle had always heard of August, but through media. She never thought that she'd meet him in person, or get hunted by him, or even be distantly related to him! He's shorter than she thought.
August was interested in this unusual mage. Guns? That's new. Entertaining at first, but even that grew dull. Although the emperor does get some enjoyment in watching meager peasants try to beat his mage.
Lawrence has been at August's service the minute he graduated the academy. He was happy at first, but now hopes dearly for someone to stop this mad ruler.
So the statue was real the entire time. How fascinating. August definitely likes the idea of waiting for this exiled king to find him, although he knows for a fact the battle will be short with his new arsenal of weapons.
After hundreds of years Earle was finally freed from his petrification, only to find that someone had beaten him to his own dream. And from the Brat Prince's lineage, too. Unable to fight him in his current state, Earle reluctantly joins Roy's, knowing he's the key to knocking this fiend off his throne. And leaving it for the taking.
It was Adrienne that told August all about the mythical weapons being real, as well as all the stories revolving around them. She was the one to lead him to Earle's statue, and though he only has one half of Lan-Ran, he's absolutely thrilled to know there are more stories to chase.
A champion of Cathal! Oh wait, an ALMOST champion. Regardless, August is entertained by his strength and will. Perhaps when he's back from catching his distant cousin he can learn more about the mage's bloodline...
[Related] So darkness embodied, was it? And to think, he's even the mighty God Slayer. He is undoubtedly an enjoyable battle waiting for the emperor. And if he isn't? Well, surely he'll get a rush with eliminating an entire element from the world.
[Related] That cruel, calm demeanor of August's reminds Khaso of an old friend of his. Only problem is that August might actually have the upper hand on him...
August has always been amused by Cordelia. The first time he met her was when he noticed knights running from her food, to which he tried it and was pleasantly surprised. The next time he met her he learned of her middle name and teased her with it. In all, he enjoys having her around; she almost gets rid of the boredom he's constantly plagued with.
It's highly unprofessional of her, but the kind way he treats her, the fact he enjoys the same foods, even the teasing...it made Cordelia develop a crush on the Emperor. Even after realizing what he's done and has become, Cordelia still holds hope that he can return to the person that she had always seen him for.
Although he despises the gods so much, August is interested in Carmen. After all, this man shares many similarities with the Litari bloodline. Is it possible that this is a long, lost relative? With Carmen's backstory, is it possible he's the reason behind this horrible curse in the family? August wants to study him and possibly get a solution for both of their situations.
"He has extended nothing but kindness towards me."
Is Carmen oblivious to the fact that August hates the divine? Maybe, maybe not - but the god himself doesn't seem to care much. He likes the siren emperor for his hospitality as well as his excellent taste in foods - who knew that hot pockets would taste so good?
Someone abandoning magic in favor of weapons. Fascinating. Arsenio is someone August would truly consider a friend. He understands the thrill war can bring. Frequently do they visit each other for a very heated sparring match.
Now August is someone Arsenio can get behind. He gladly joined his kingdom with the empire, fully aligning with August's goals. That guy may be young, but he's viciously powerful, and channels it all into melee weapons! The elf always looks forward to visiting the emperor and the fights that follow.
