Bar owner and big softie. Supplier of jobs, tips, booze, and advice for Takashi and Nozomi, two old friends, as he evades his former employers: the mafia.

Warm, friendly, and compassionate, albeit of a quieter disposition. Selfless, but knows when to limit this; cautious by nature. Humble and easily embarrassed. The type to get to know his regulars and keep up with their personal lives, he'll get worried if they don't show for a while. Deb is one of his closest.

Despite his overall kindly and reserved nature, he struggles with anger issues. He was much more aggressive in his younger years, and while he's mostly got it under control now, it still comes out occasionally, which can lead to unnecessary conflict. He's quite scary when angered, it's unwise to provoke him. Don't be one of the unlucky few who start a bar fight under his watch.

Appearance

Very large and buff, with a wide tail that reaches down to just above his ankles. Has pink skin with reddish freckle-like spots on his face and shoulders. Three gills on both sides of his head, though the bottom two of the left side have been ripped up and cut at. Short, reddish-pink hair with some facial hair, and blue eyes, the left one discolored. Has a large scar on the left side of his face, which cuts through his eyebrow, and many others on his chest, arms, legs, and tail.

Typically in his work uniform, a typical bartender's uniform comprised of a white button-down shirt with a black vest, pants, and a bowtie.

Tries to emphasize his friendliness despite his foreboding appearance by acting especially "gentlemanly", which shows in how he moves about and interacts with others.

His surname combines the Spanish surname Serrano with the scientific name for the axolotl, "Ambystoma mexicanum".
