Hrimjötnar (frost Jötnar) are the Jötnar of Niflheim. They have a deep affinity to cold and ice, tolerating temperatures colder than even the gods and other Utangard can handle. They are private and reclusive, while they may conduct occasional raids on the gods' worlds, they mostly avoid participating in the major wars between the Innangard and Utangard. They are extremely protective of Niflheim's spring waters, proud of the fact that they rule the cradle of life for the Northern Heavens. The Hrimjötnar have a particular hatred of Vanaheim, owing to the fact that it is the most verdant world of the Northern Heavens, in contrast to the cold and desolation of Niflheim.
