Budxthcexziathm "Bud" Blihyujn

When David Crawford sold the world, he met with a representative of an alien race: there to speak privately with the leader of "this humble planet of New Earth." Already fluent in the English language, the alien--explained to be "Aquidicite"--spoke personally to David about the troubles of his people. Cast out from their home due to the sudden loss of water, the Aquidicite's took to the stars in desperate need to find water elsewhere. The Aquidicite offers David a pact, a plea, requesting 50% of this planets water to fill his people's ships, so that they may move on. David responded eloquently, with a "who cares, everyone hates me enough already so: take it all. I'll sell you the entire world if you want, just promise to keep it safe." This was sufficient enough, and the deal was made.

But the Aquidicite became wracked with guilt over the promise that was to be broken. Betraying yet another leader of another world...when would it end? The lives that had been eradicated because of this scheme...it was tearing this Aquidicite's mind apart! He had to do something, he had to stand for something--for this race of creatures who couldn't fight for themselves! He spoke out against the senate, his Queen...and was soundly exiled to the human sector of Sector D. It was thought that he would be found and ripped apart about the ravenous humans who dwelled there, but this Aquidicite lived. This Aquidicite disguised himself, went by an alias, and began to start and underground movement. This Aquidicite began to recruit humans to his cause, building up his reputation underground, amassing loyalty and the means of revolution. This Aquidicite strove to strike back against his people, and liberate the humans from the subjugation he had helped arrange! The Aquidicites know him as "Budxthcexziathm Blihyujn": A mutated, Myqu traitor who sought to bring about the end of the Aquidicite race. But, to the humans, he's simply known as "Bud": a masked man who seeks to liberate all of humanity from the tyranny of their invaders.

Physical Description:

Bud is a tall, Masculine-Presenting Aquidicite with a scrawny build. Although to human's Bud is quite tall, by Aquidicite standards, he's on the shorter side! He's still within a healthy range, but Bud is consistently losing a little water each day due to how much he sweats. This is also why he isn't as thick! Aquidicite mass is entirely based upon water intake, and if you don't drink much, the shorter and lighter you will become!

Bud is an Aquidicite of the Myqu caste. He has light blue skin and two short fins that frame his pointed face down to his chin. Navy blue markings are at the tips of these short fins. Bud also has top fins, with one that drips down just above eye level. These top fins (along with the top/entire back of his head) are scaled dull purple and blue colors. His eyes are orange (an impossible eye color for Aquidicites to have naturally) and his sharp, black teeth can drain water from fruits and other living creatures. Because he is a Myqu, Bud is has one pair of gills at the base of his neck (plus the residual gils on his waist, but all Aquidicites have these). Bud also has webbed appendages about 1cm long that are on the back of his legs and on the inside of his elbows. He has darker blue dots all over his body, which are called Depth Spots! They function like freckles.

Bud was originally the Ambassador for the Aquidicite race, assigned by the rest of the senate to communicate with the leaders of the planets they'd visit. After coercing (or failing to coerce) the leaders into some sort agreement, the Aquidicites would capitalize and take over the planet in question...doing lord knows what with it before moving on to the next. When Bud came to New Earth, he was the one to meet with and coerce David Crawford into selling the world...but not without making a promise to keep the world safe. After the Aquidicite's began their takeover, Bud became wracked with guilt over the promise he had broken (promises have great cultural significance in Aquidicite culture) and spoke out in a senate meeting against the Queen Hiqu. He condemned the actions of his people, of his Queen, and challenged her to duel! But, it was then the Queen chose to unveil his true status as a Myqu, outting him to the entire senate. Not only this, but the Queen unveiled even more evidence against Bud, citing him as the cause for Aquidcidcanaete's ultimate destruction. Bud was banished from the senate, cast into Sector D, where it was thought that the all-human population would pounce on the defenseless Aquidicite and brutally tear him to pieces. But, Bud survived, and now chooses to fight back against his own people. He knows he can do it, but not without one man's help...one man who happens to be coming this way...

Bud is a Myqu, but his mind has been permanently augmented by a mind-altering drug known as Verity. After overdosing on the drug, Bud reached ultimate omniscience, but not without a price. The knowledge of the universe he's obtained puts a constant weight on his brain, and his mind is always racing. Each moment his is awake, he struggles to prevent the vast reaches of his knowledge from overwhelming him--it's why he sweats so much! It exhausts him endlessly. It's also why his eyes are orange in color. Bud must constantly be in control of his own mind, lest the weight of the universe crush him entirely. 

Personality:

In Aquidicite culture, there are two castes: Hiqu and Myqu. Hiqu's are similar in the vein of humans: they have a will of their own, fully formed personalities, likes, dislikes, and can form their own opinions about the world. Myqu's, however, are not the same. Myqu's have been brainwashed since birth to become a part of the workforce, and make up nearly 100% of Aquidcidcanaete's manual labor. They are discouraged from having personal wills of their own, from expressing themselves, from having opinions, and as a result they are raised as emotionless tools who cannot say no to an order. Myqu's are tools of the Aquidicite state, who are kept in a constant state of worker-bee subjugation because "they are Myqu's, they are different from us, this is how they've always been, their brains are different and meant for this type of work". There are only a few things expected of a Myqu throughout their lifespan. To breathe, to eat, to work, to mate, to procreate, and to sleep. Nothing else is needed of them, nothing else is allowed of them. They are forced to become mindless servants, only sometimes acting on instinctual emotion, but nothing more than that.

Bud is a far departure from the typical Myqu, so much so that Aquidicite's thought he was a mutated Hiqu before learning the truth about him. Unlike other Myqu's, who cannot display much but a basic personality, Bud displays traits beyond what is expected of him. He has likes and dislikes, opinions of the world, he can think for himself and act for himself. And who Bud is is a kind, warm soul whose words touch everyone he meets. Humble and observant, Bud is quiet and keeps to the background in most conversations. He is mild-natured and non-confrontational; he never wants to start a fight or be the reason for anyone's discomfort. He speaks calmly, and his wise words carry a weight to them that is impossible for anyone but him to understand.

Bud is optimistic and idealistic, but speaks with the worn-out cadence of a cynic. The hope that Bud has for humanity is overwhelming, and the love he shows to them and the beautiful planet they live on goes beyond what is expected. He tries to believe in the best in people, and when there are problems in others lives he wants to be the one to fix it--so that the people he loves can feel comfy and safe. He's a kind soul who never wants any trouble (which is why starting it with this revolution makes him so uncomfortable, but he's gotta do what he's gotta do). He never seems upset at anyone, even when he really should be. Only a couple times has Bud ever raised his voice, and each time it has sent shock and confusion through those present. He's an exceedingly genuine person who is easy to get along with; who really believes in humans with all his heart. 

But Bud is tired, oh so very tired. The weight his omniscience has on his consistently tires him out, and fills him with stress. His mind is constantly in overdrive, and it can make focusing difficult. He tries his best, but when he speaks it is often with a tired voice that begs for sleep. If one could see his face behind his mask, they'd be greeted with a permanent smile that he forces out through all the weariness he feels. Bud is an Aquidicite full of regret and self-loathing, but he keeps this deep inside of him. He blames himself for the suffering of his people, and for the suffering of the humans, but no one can know his pain. Bud is incredibly lonely on New Earth. Unable to truly belong anywhere, he is left alone with his immense knowledge, suffering in silence for the sake of his mission. It is painful to be him, both physically and mentally. All he wants to do is rest his head, if only for a little bit...

But he can't, not when the time to act is so close! Bud is running out of time; all of the water on this planet is nearly gone...and when it's gone..? Well, lets just say that Bud knows more about what will happen then anyone else on New Earth. The rebellion is reaching it's apex, and they've got to act...but they can't--not without him. Bud knows he approaches, and knows that he will listen...they can't do this without him. Both Bud and David Crawford started this mess...it's only fitting they finish it together.

Strengths & Weaknesses:

By far, Bud's greatest strength is his omniscience. In principal, Bud knows everything. He knows everything that has happened throughout the universe, every factoid, every iota of every thought any living being has ever thought. His knowledge is unlimited, and because of it Bud's foresight is beyond compare. It makes him an amazing leader! He can plan according to whatever the Aquidicite's are doing, he knows their weaknesses, how to defeat them, what must be done in order to do so. He's got a good heart and a good mind, and he's sure to lead his group of revolutionaries to victory. As an Aquidicite, Bud can also breathe underwater.

But although his mind is his greatest strength, it's also his greatest weakness. The weight his omniscience has on his mind is constantly threatening to crush him, and if it does Bud can be out of commission for days. It fatigues him constantly, and it has made him physically weaker. Bud is in a unique position, to where if any Aquidicite finds him, they're to kill him on sight per the Queen's decree. Not to mention, Bud is currently incognito as a masked, human man. He can't afford to be unmasked, especially in Sector D. If that happens, even among his own revolutionary group, he'll be as good as dead. Only one person the entire group knows what he really is. No one else can find out...

Bonus Facts:

- Bud's omniscence works in strange ways. Knowledge flashes into his head when context is given, but if a specific answer is to be found, or someone's life story is to be read, Bud must search his mind to find the answer. Bud goes inside his own head to find the truth, and leaves himself vulnerable to being overwhelmed if he's not careful. If Bud is overwhelmed completely, he gets sent into a catatonic state that can last from a day to a week. He must be careful when he decides to dig in.

- After overdosing on Verity, Bud's Myqu mind became overwhelmed by the sudden burst of information and reacted violently. Imagine a big bang happening all inside your head! In his state of blind mania, Bud took all of the cases/vials of Verity and shattered them, the fluids draining into the sea...if only he could have known what that action would set into motion...

- Aquidicite's sleep while suspended in water. Because you can't really sleep in water without it being suspicious (especially if you're trying to pass as a human), Bud sleeps in the bathtub in his personal quarters.
