One morning, Chalcedony Lepidolite wakes up to find that her roommate, Alma, has disappeared. She and Alma's girlfriend, Angele, search everywhere, but they find nothing. Worse, the police seem woefully uninterested in their plight. All seems lost when they have a run-in strange energy being named Monaz, who leads them to discover their town holds some dark, fantastic secrets that Alma may have gotten tangled up in.
