Danganronpa UDG was ACTUALLY a really good game. Yeah, I know the story is messed up as fuck, and it has a character that everyone absolutely DESPISES but by itself is a really good game and the concept of it is just amazing.

also olives are good ugh why do people do not like olives

People generalizing country and rap /hip hop under the claim that they both "always sound the same" are cowards that need to listen to more music and try different subsets of each genre. They aren't even what I go to generally (I've been on a prog jazz kick), but cutting yourself off from finding new music you might enjoy because of some preconceived notion of what a genre "should" sound like is lame.

Industrial Rock is just edgy synth-pop

I have a couple unpopular opinions:

1. Call me an old soul, but I don’t understand the appeal of today’s music. I get some of today’s hits are good, but it all sounds the same to me, and it seems to lose its charm when blasted through speakers of a rowdy house party. I really much prefer the classics, like the crooners of the big band era and the like (i.e. Michael Bublé, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc.) I also enjoy some country (think Dolly Parton, Lynn Anderson, etc.), rockabilly, rock n roll, 80’s & 90’s pop, some 90’s hip hop, disco, classical (anything from the baroque to the romantic periods), and anything from video games and theater.

2. Another unpopular opinion I have is that I just don’t like Christmas music anymore, not as much as I used to. I’d rather not go into the reasons why.

These are mainly about how people talk about music, but people who really dislike rap and are very vocal about it get on my nerves, I don't even listen to rap but I know that it's just a music genre, there's nothing inherit in it that makes it more vulgar or provocative than non-rap genres, and a lot of people are perfectly fine listening and singing along to songs about drugs, sex, etc., as long as it isn't rap

Also the amount of people who think of Ska music as a "silly white people genre" is frustrating, it literally has its roots in black working-class immigrants and has along history, the checkerboard pattern is supposed to represent black and white people working together

And for my very specific pet peeve, when people talk about how "Video Killed the Radio Star" sounds nostalgic even though they weren't around in the 80s, the song and the whole album are based off of 50s and 60s sci-fi nostalgia (It literally says "Back in 52" at the start of the song) so obviously it's going to sound nostalgic regardless of when you were a kid because that was the intention of the song

And for music itself, I don't really like a lot of 90s music, there is a lot of stuff from the 90s I do like and it's fun to listen to occasionally but compared to the decades before it I think I listen to 1990s music the least out of the 1960s-2010s

Some genres are better when they're less polished and/or working within limitations. Specifically "old skool" genres like old skool jungle, happy hardcore, hip-hop etc. Older tracks in those genres weren't polished (or in tune in some cases) but I that's part of the charm imo.

More polished/modern masterings can still be good though, think of it like:

Tiktok does discover some gems sometimes and you know what I don’t care if it makes me a normie for liking a lot of songs that are popular on there

I still listen to a lot of music that I’ve found on My own time or through my parents but some songs on tiktok go hard.

i feel like the general disdain for country music stems from a general disdain for The South which doesn't sit right with me. I'm not gonna bother going into detail to rehash points others have made better than i'm going to rn but it definitely has classist roots tbh and there's more country music out there than just Toby Keith or Tim McGraw or Lady Antebellum or whatever, i like music from every genre because i give every genre a chance

i like melanie martinez’s stuff but i feel like her songs would be like 4x better if every other word was not the f word. excessive swearing seriously weakens a song i think

ehe here i come again

dnb breakcore esc music is SO GOOD. especially if it's made to hurt your ears. while I don't like goreshit as a person, a ton of his music is Really good for my slow and lacking-energy brain. satori de pon! is an example of his music that's Tamer . still i'd say if you wanted actual brain hurty stuff from him then uhhh .. strawberry cheesecake . [volume warning bc it is . incredibly bass heavy] I think I rlly like my brain being overwhelmed bc I am... very tired.... so loud music helps with that

babymetal is rlly good!! and definitely classifies as metal!! their songs are really fun

I feel like a game ost has to be memorable in order to make the game good............ I guess that's why I like omori so much ^_^ speaking of which, the black space part of the ost goes the hardest

^^ agreeing with the mother mother stuff bc I Do Not Like! how people portray verbatim!! it's a difficult song for me to listen to now bc of how many people are just calling it a 'gay anthem' and stuff..... it is ... abotu.... stereotypes............... but mother mother stuff is rlly good!! listen to problems now

oliver and gumi are usually the only vocaloids that sound rlly good in english to me . others definently can sound great , but I tend to like those two the most!! oliver especially, since I rlly like his voice in general and he was also Made to be in english

eurobeat slaps, next question .
