⚔️ Adventure Listing

Posted 3 years, 4 months ago (Edited 5 months, 10 days ago) by HannahBug

Adventures are a series of prompts designed to give a keke more to do and might even help with
some character development! Of course, they also give completion rewards for your time and effort

🌿 Rules 🌿

🌱 Snakekeys must be a minimum of young to start adventuring!
🌱 Adventure art must be fully finished, meaning it must be at least fully colored, clean lined or lineless, with a background. Keke can be anywhere between a headshot and a fullbody. Shading is optional
🌱 Adventure backgrounds must have some effort put in. They cannot be just color blobs, ex a green blob for grass and a blue blob for the sky! (Art style and level will be taken into consideration)
🌱 Adventures can be written for instead of drawn. Each prompt for each adventure will have a different minimum word count
🌱 An adventure's prompts must be done in order
🌱 Multiple adventure prompts can be done in one deviation, but they must appear separate
🌱 Submit completed works to the Adventurers folder
🌱 You can have multiple adventures running at a time if you wish. They're not timed or anything, so you can start and finish them at your own pace
🌱 Adventures are intended for one keke at a time. You can bring along other keke, but you'll still only get 1 set of rewards upon completion!
🌱 Adventures can be completed more than once to get the prizes repeatedly. You can even use the same keke for them twice or more
🌱 Adventures don't expire! If you see one on the list below, you'll always be able to complete it

the_edge_sign_by_hannah__bug_dbp6v0d-ful A Curse

🌿 Step 1: The sky is dark, as it has been for several hours due to it being the middle of the night. You were very busy sleeping right up until the point where a muted rumble of thunder and glimmer of light woke you. Before you could dismiss the storm and resume what you were doing, lightning flashes a second time and catches something in the distance. It looks like...a sign...?
🌸 Write 400 words/draw your Snakekey reacting to this sign that absolutely wasn't there before

🌿 Step 2: Maybe you found the sign vaguely familiar, maybe you didn't. Regardless, you found yourself drawn closer despite your personal thoughts on the situation. A far off murmur of light in the sky revealed a thin trail in the dirt. Oddly, it seemed to go just the way the sign pointed
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your Snakekey venturing down the admittedly spooky path

🌿 Step 3:Although curiosity killed the Squeakbeast, you find yourself navigating down the narrow path anyways. You can hardly see a thing as if the air has grown black around you. Small bumps catch beneath you as you slither along, but you think little of them. Suddenly, two ghostly lights flare to life like eyes on the ground in front of you. They illuminate the area just enough for you to see that you've made your way up a path of bones and are now facing a Snakekey skull with eye sockets alight
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your Snakekey reacting to the skull and/or bones

🌿 Step 4: You're able to have your initial reaction just before the skeletal remains begin to levitate. The skull hovers just above your eye level, angling to glare threateningly down at you. Its bottom jaw floats up from the shadows and reconnects just before it begins to hiss almost inaudibly "A curse, a curse..." It mutters eerily. Lightning strikes, catching you off guard as the bones arch threateningly and screech "A curse on your head!!"
🌸 Write 400 words/draw your Snakekey reacting to totally being cursed

You've recoiled and by the time you look up, the bones have vanished. You're pretty sure the lightning came down and struck you, but judging from the fact that you're still alive and the light dusting of frost across your shoulders and face, it must have just been chill magic. A bit dazed, you look around to find nothing out of the ordinary. You have little other choice than to return from where you came. A couple days later, you find you're not quite the same...

🎉 Reward: 1 of the following upgrades for one of your Snakekeys/PCs
After completing step 4, you will have finished this adventure and can collect the rewards!
Open spoiler to see reward bank!

snakekey_upgrade_base___spine_spikes_by_snakekey_upgrade_base___skeletal_flappersnakekey_upgrade_base___protruding_skull

🌸 1: > Spine spikes: You almost got scared out of your skin, but not quite. Simple spikes that appear to jut out one per vertebrae. Can reach from the top of the neck to the tail tip. Spikes must be centered. Can be any color or size
🌸 2: > Skeletal winglets: Yeah, you're not flying anywhere with these. Small, bony wings. Must either be a pair or a single wing. Structure can be different than example, but they must get no bigger than above! May be placed anywhere on the back side of a keke (head, back, tail tip, etc)
🌸 3: > Protruding skull: Bits of or a whole skull attached to the face. Does not necessarily have the be anatomically correct. Can go over or replace the skin. Must not have extensions such as horns unless upgrades have been earned and applied.

a__outside_ribs_by_hannah__bug_dcn45cv-fa__skeletal_by_hannah__bug_dcn4k7n-fullv

🌸 1: > Outside ribs: Rib-shaped, bony protrusions that usually occur on the torso and naga tail, but can appear anywhere they can semi-circle around. Can have any amount, vary in thickness, and be any color
🌸 2: > Skeletal: Bones go on the inside, but you're a rebel. Bony formations that commonly resemble an (almost) whole Snakekey skeleton or parts of one, but don't have to. For some reason, this upgrade doesn't form ribs or skulls. Exception: skulls can form on the body, but not on anywhere on the head. Bones can be any color

1.png🥚 Baby's First Infiltration 🥚

🌿 Step 1: It's a nice day to be out and about. You've been wandering around for a while, enjoying the weather. Apparently, you haven't been paying too much attention, though. You can't quite recall heading this direction, but as it turns out, you've found yourself in a somewhat dense forest full of tall trees. Nothing looks familiar. Crud.
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your Snakekey in a forest

🌿 Step 2: You don't have much of an option other than continuing to look around. Sure, that's not what you're supposed to do once you get lost, but it'll get dark pretty soon. It's best you don't find out what kinds of critters come out at night around here. Thankfully, luck seems to be on your side (kinda). You've come across what seems to be a path
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your Snakekey following a path

🌿 Step 3: It's getting a bit dark and the underbrush a bit thick, making the trail difficult to follow. Suddenly, you find the ground is no longer beneath you, sending you tumbling into a large indent in the ground. The surrounding area seems to be a bit jagged, earning you a few scrapes before you reach a stop. You had full intentions on just lying there for a bit, but a "Hey, are you okay?" makes you glance up. A Snakekey is looking over at you with concern... a Superior by the looks of it. Behind them, you see lights. It seems you've found a small village
🌸 Write 400 words/draw your Snakekey being helped by a Superior Snakekey

🌿 Step 4: The Soups are quite hospitable considering you randomly barged into their territory. Some seem pretty eager to be the best host as if it's a contest or something. After seeing you patched up, the keke that spotted you simply slithers off, though. From your place, you can see them coil into a sitting position in front of a comically large pile of glimmering eggs, catching the light from the village's lanterns. Intrigued, you meander over to investigate. The Soup notices your approach "Pretty bad, huh?" they laugh, but it sounds exasperated "These are from a rival Superior village. They think they're better than us (which they are not) and are mad that we won't either leave or join them. Apparently, they decided to spam-create all these eggs and drop them in our territory. Not sure if they're trying to get us to run out of supplies or overrun us... Whatever the case, they won't let up and we can't seem to find them to return the little guys. We can't hatch them either. Just don't have the space" They shake their head in disapproval before seeming to get an idea "Hey, you wouldn't happen to know somebody who wants a kid, would you?"
🌸 Write 400 words/draw your Snakekey inspecting the pile of eggs

🌿 Step 5: Once morning comes, the village sends you on your way with a map, a very shiny egg, and encouragement to spread the word of their predicament. The rival village will surely let up once it becomes clear their plan isn't working, but until then, they need all the help they can get. Thankfully, the map is crystal clear and you're able to return to familiar territory soon enough
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your Snakekey heading home with the egg of their choice

flawless_egg_by_hannah__bug_dchmvmj-full
Reward: One flawless egg
After completing step 5, you will have finished this adventure and can collect the rewards!
⭕ Upon completing this adventure three separate times you unlock the fast pass: Letter from a Friend

HannahBug

✉️ Letter from a Friend ✉️
⭕ This is a fast pass for Baby's First Infiltration! You must have done that adventure three times before you can use this pass ⭕

🌿 Step 1: You wake up just an hour or two too early, feeling like you heard a noise, but weren't really conscious enough to identify it. You look around for the source only to find a crisp, white envelope with your name written on it. You must have missed the courier who delivered it. You open it and pull out what looks to be homemade paper (judging by the slight lumpiness)
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC finding or reading the letter

🌿 Step 2: The message is written in glittery ink and is seemingly from the Soup village you've stumbled upon in the woods a couple times. The writer seems pleased at first, saying you've done an excellent job of spreading the word on their egg predicament - many others have stopped by to adopt. However, this seems to have angered the other Soup-group that was placing these eggs in the first place. Instead of dumping them all in the village where they're easy to collect, they seem to have taken up a new annoyance-tactic. The thing is, this is way more dangerous for the unhatched babies. Glittery little eggs are scattered absolutely everywhere in the woods, so much so that villagers have to spend hours a day searching for and collecting them before anything nasty happens. Would you mind visiting and helping with the collection efforts if you have spare time on your paws...?
🌸 Write 350 words/draw your keke's reaction to the letter (packing up supplies, spreading the word, helping at the village, annoyed that they were even asked, etc...)

flawless_egg_by_hannah__bug_dchmvmj-fullReward: One flawless egg or 10 paper stars for any one of your keke/PCs
After completing step 2, you will have finished this adventure and can collect the rewards!

💧 Sunken Treasures 💧

🌿 Step 1: You notice some commotion off in the distance, but there's a lot of foliage in the way, so you have to get closer to see what's actually going on. When you do, you realize that the mysterious lump you were looking at was a large animal-drawn cart with the back end dumped into a lake. Thankfully, it looks like the animals have been detached safely, but the cart's at a pretty bad angle... It might be sinking. Keke slither all around, many of them on top of the water and peering down into it
🌸 Write 350 words/draw your keke at the scene

🌿 Step 2: A particularly downcast Arboreal notices your confusion and woefully explains that they're a traveling merchant. However, they're...pretty new to this. They probably should have studied pouch training more... They failed to communicate what they wanted with their animals at a crucial point and ended up with what you see here. Most of their goods are now at the bottom of the lake. And it's a dark lake. They've employed passersby to help them search for things, but they're afraid things are looking pretty bleak right about now. They'd appreciate your help, but they warn you that it might be a lost cause
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke talking to the Arboreal or gearing up to help out

🌿 Step 3: You decide to contribute to the cause. After peering over the bank for any important-looking shapes in the water, you find you're not gaining any ground without getting your scales wet. All you can do is hope for the best and submerge. The bottom of the lake is incredibly lumpy, though you can't see if it's due to rocks or sunken goods. You'll just have to drag things up to the surface to see
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke searching the bottom of the lake or pulling up what they've found

🌿 Step 4: After a few dives, you've recovered some small trinkets and a useless rock or two. You're about worn out, so you aim for one last haul. It just so happens that the thing you decided to pick up was... way bigger than you thought it was. It's also super heavy, but you've kind of got it off the ground so you don't want to drop it in case you're able to actually make the trip. Thankfully, some of the keke on the surface see you struggling and swim down to help. The collection of you heave the thing, a massive wooden chest, to the surface with great effort. The merchant seems overjoyed at this find, but you're a little too distracted to participate in the celebration. You've noticed that both the chest and your arms are coated in little brightly colored dots... More concerningly, these might be eggs....
🌸 Write 350 words/draw your keke retrieving the chest or discovering the dots

Reward: One spoiler egg or 30 paper stars for any one of your keke/PCs
After completing step 4, you will have finished this adventure and can collect the rewards!

🎒 Really Cool Backpack 🎒

🌿 Step 1: You've encountered something weird today. There was a piece of paper fluttering on the ground. Its multicolored, glittering ink caught your eye, so you scooped it up to give it a read. The text has horrible readability on the background color of the paper. Still, you manage to gather that this is some sort of journal page from a keke not from around here. They're going on in grandiose style about their discoveries like they're the first person to see it. You'd better let them know that their notes have exploded everywhere... Thankfully, you think you know where they're camped based on the descriptions
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC finding or reading the paper

🌿 Step 2: You set off, looking for landmarks that this stranger has slithered past. You have pretty good luck doing this, though you see no sign of a tread-trail on your way. After a little while, you stumble across what seems to be a tiny camp. There's stakes in the ground as if there was a tent here once and the charred remains of a campfire. There's nobody in sight, but you do see another paper. It's trapped underneath a blackened log, a little soggy from when the fire was doused. It's still readable enough for you to make out that whoever this is seems thrilled to have discovered a "useful treasure". You somehow feel a little uneasy about this... There's bent grass nearby, a sign that somebody wound through here. You might be able to follow it if you're careful
🌸 Write 350 words/draw your keke/PC at the camp

🌿 Step 3: The trail is a little difficult to follow, as trails often are. You lose and re-find it a couple of times. There's no other helpful hints or journal pages to guide you. Just trodden underbrush. Going is slow and after a not insignificant amount of time passes, you're feeling about ready to give up. As if on cue, you hear a yelp. It's pretty far off, but you rush towards it anyway before you forget the direction it came from. By the time you arrive at the scene, the stranger is nowhere to be seen. Instead, you find a squarish egg on the ground, its leathery skin punctured by the claws of a gooey hatchling. It looks up at you with wide, confused eyes. Judging by the mess of items scattered about, it looks as if somebody was using this egg, equipped with a pouch, as a backpack. They mustn't have know what Bouncer eggs look like...
🌸 Write 350 words/draw your keke/PC following the trail or at the scene

flashback.png🌲 Beneath the Water 🌲

🌿 Step 1: While hanging around a lake, you realized you weren't alone. On the opposite side of the water, a joey of some sort crouches. They don't seem to notice you, as they have their head bent to peer down into the water below
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC at the lake

🌿 Step 2: You watch the stranger with their head bowed for a few minutes, trying not to look like you're staring, but it doesn't seem to matter. They don't move other than the occasional tilt of the head in a different direction. Curiosity getting the better of you, you approach. Then and only then does ve seem to become aware of your presence

"Hello." Ve greets you respectfully, tone as placid as the lake "Could you help me catch a fish?" You draw back slightly, regretting coming closer, but ve interrupts you

"Not to eat of course. One just...swallowed something that belongs to me." Not waiting for a reply, ve turns back towards the water and points out to it "It swam over there..."
🌸 Write 400 words/draw your keke/PC venturing into the water or making a plan to catch the fish (remember you wouldn't want to hurt it!)

🌿 Step 3: The lazy shadow of fish meandering underwater is easily visible from the shore. Since they don't seem interested in drawing any nearer, you decide to just make your move. There's a splash and a spray of water that sends most of the slippery creatures darting away to safer shallows. For a brief moment, you thought you'd caught your target, but as the water stills, you realize you're holding a...roll of paper...? Water slides off of it, leaving it unmarred

"What's that?" The stranger's attention diverts to your catch, vis voice showing interest. Pulling it to drier ground, you uncurl the paper to investigate. It seems to be a hand drawn map
🌸 Write 400 words/draw your Snakekey with the map

🌿 Step 4: "Buried treasure" Ve coos, sounding amused "Will you follow it?" You ask about their fish troubles and ve waves a paw dismissively, politely commenting that ve might be better on vis own. You can't quite help but be intrigued at the strange paper and look into it a little more only to notice that the trail marked on the map leads somewhere not far off from where you already are. Wishing the stranger luck, you turn away from the water, deciding you might as well go check out the destination. It's not like it would hurt
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC following the map

🌿 Step 5: The trail leads you to a secluded, peaceful area. Besides the occasional chatter of small animals, you feel you're alone. A strange pillar of stones disturbs the surrounding nature, sticking out like a sore thumb, yet feeling as if it belongs there at the same time. You draw a bit closer to investigate and notice a disturbance as you do so. A creature seems to be clinging to the back side of the structure, hiding from you. Curious, you try to peek around to see what it is, but it quickly shuffles further out of view. Before you can make a second attempt to catch a glimpse, something scarcely the side of a hatchling skitters to the top of the pillar, leaps off, and glides away
🌸 Write 400 words/draw your keke/PC in the area with the stone pillar

🌿 Step 6: As soon as its tiny paws hit the ground, the creature makes a break for it. It bounds across the ground, leaving little prints behind in the dust, and haphazardly throws itself into a shallow burrow. You can still see its tail poking out... Now that it lies still, you can easily identify the bulbed tail of a Gribbon. But...it's so small. What's it doing out here all alone? Why did the map lead you here?
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your Snakekey's reaction to the Gribbon. Do they attempt to persuade it out of the burrow? Do they leave?

alluring_infant_by_hannah__bug_dd0pcf0-f
Reward: One alluring infant
After completing step 6, you will have finished this adventure and can collect the rewards!

🧙‍♂️ Budding Magician 🧙‍♂️

🌿 Step 1: While you were out one day, you spotted a quaint little house off in the distance. Normally, this wouldn't be something to bat an eyelid at, but you can't help but notice that the door is open and flapping dramatically in the wind. Inside, you can see a faint, orange glow that flickers across the walls
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC spotting or reacting to the house

🌿 Step 2: The longer you watch, the more you can't help thinking that the glow looks awfully fire-like. You decide to take a quick look inside just to be safe and then you should probably be on your way. As you near, you notice that the house seems to be unoccupied, but the table has a fresh cloth on it held down by some stones so it doesn't blow away. In the very center of the tablecloth there is indeed a live flame that seems to be growing
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC reacting to the fire

🌿 Step 3: It wouldn't be very responsible of you to let a house burn down, so you figure you should probably put the flames out while they're still small. As you do so, you hear a small voice crow from behind you

"HEY, that's my fire magic!!" You spin to see a young Quillrend sitting in the corner, a drape of fabric wrapped around their shoulders as a makeshift cape. Underneath one of their paws is a little box of matches. You...think they don't quite get how magic works
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC reacting to the Quillrend

🌿 Step 4: Before you can start explaining fully that arson is bad, the young pup announces "Humph!!", gets up, and runs out the open door. They did not, you notice, leave the matches behind. You get a bad feeling that they're going to practice their "magic" somewhere else...
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC chasing after the fire-starting Quill

🌿 Step 5: After a few minutes of chasing, you meet back up with the pup, who is clearly trying to hide from you. They make a noise of disgust upon realizing they've been spotted

"Just leave me alone!" they insist grumpily, threatening to swat at you with a paw if you come closer. They do not put down their matches before they do so, which results in them accidentally flinging the small box at you. They gasp as you pick them up before they can charge to fix their mistake.

"Hey, those are mine!!" they sulk loudly. After a short moment of thinking, they pipe back up "Hey, do you like puppies? I'll give you a puppy if you give me those back. C'mon."
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC accepting the deal...?

🐮 Cowpokes 🐮

🌿 Step 1: You were out minding your own business when a low rumbling sound started to get a bit closer than you would prefer. In looking around for what could be causing the ruckus, you catch sight of a fairly large group of animals. They look like there were just trying to travel around on their own, but several of them have hatchlings and infants on their backs, whooping and hollering
🌸 Write 250 words/draw your keke/PC reacting the the scene

🌿 Step 2: One of the riders catches sight of you and yells "Howdy!" They spook the animal they're riding on for a moment, but the creature seems unable to buck them off. After a moment or two, it irritably stops kicking around "Care to join us, pardner?" The child resumes talking as if nothing had happened. They try to wink at you, but it looks like they haven't quite learned how to do so properly
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC joining the kids or declining to do so

🌿 Step 3: Regardless of your decision on whether or not to grab a ride, there's a sound in the distance that immediately makes your heart rise up. It's a predator's call and it sounds like it's been attracted by the large group of potential prey. The animals recognize it too and look around nervously for a moment before deciding they'd better take off. The kids atop them resume hollering and likely didn't pick up on the oncoming predator
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke riding the stampede, being left behind, facing the predator, etc...

🌿 Step 4: The predator emerges going as fast as it can towards the stampeding group of prey, seemingly being more interested in them than you. However, it's picked a fight it can't handle on its own. There's way too many creatures and they aren't splitting apart from the herd, likely due to the confusion. The kids on their mounts get a boost of unwarranted courage and turn their steeds to steer the attacker away. The predator is baffled and seemingly afraid of this behavior, only egging the children on all the more
🌸 Write 250 words/draw your keke/PC helping chase off the predator or reacting to the commotion

🍓 Do Not Eat 🍓

🌿 Step 1: There's a small event coming up and you've been asked to help prepare. Since there's going to be free food, one of the main jobs to to get that ready. This includes foraging and, of course, cooking the stuff up!
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC helping to get the food ready

🌿 Step 2: It's berry season, so a good portion of the food that keke bring back from their foraging trips consists of such. The Snakekeys running the show have asked for the berries to be sorted - you can't have all the sweet and spicy ones mixed together! The hatchlings would have a fit. Whether you want to be or not, you've been hurriedly assigned to this task and you can't back out since the organizer's busy with someone else
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC helping to sort the berries

Upon putting a paw into a basket, you find something's stuck to you... A little startled, you pull it back out to find an under-ripe berry that won't let go of your arm. A nearby Snakekey sees your confusion and states that someone mistakenly rustled through a Furnan bush and picked up some eggs. They thought they returned them all, but it looks like you've found a straggler...whoops

2.png🚪 Forgot Something? 🚪

🌿 Step 1: One day, you notice a treehouse you must have missed seeing before. It's not too spiffy, but it's good enough that you think "awh, nice, a treehouse" when you look at it. Before you can move on, a wide eye smacks up against the window. There's a little Looksee inside, which would be fairly normal treehouse-ing activities, but he frantically taps on the glass with his stick arms in a way that makes you think you might have to help out here...
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC reacting to the Looksee

🌿 Step 2: For some reason, you can't find a ladder or a rope or anything to get up the the main platform, so you're going to have to slither or climb. If only there were like...any low-hanging branches for you to use at all. The platform sticks out kinda far, too. You're not totally sure how you're going to get up there without hitting your head...
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC trying to climb the tree

🌿 Step 3: Despite the tree's efforts, you manage to get onto the treehouse porch. The Looksee inside seems both relieved and more frantic than ever. You can't really see him anymore, but you can hear him banging on random things and scrabbling around. It's at this point you realize that the treehouse does not have a door. Oh.

🌸 Write 400 words/draw your keke/PC helping the Looksee escape the treehouse

🐜 Guidance 🐜

🌿 Step 1: While slithering around and minding your own business, you happened upon an especially interesting Feather Bird. You stopped in an attempt not to scare it off, but the little thing had already seen big ol' you. It spread its tiny wings and began to flutter away. Thankfully, it moved slow enough you were pretty sure you could give chase. If you really wanted to.
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC trying to catch/follow/get a better look at the Feather Bird

🌿 Step 2: As you followed after the tiny creature, you slowly began to realize the environment around you was changing. There were large holes and tunnels burrowed in...well, everything. However, they didn't look quite big enough to come from something that would put you in danger. They looked...hatchling-sized...? Before you could dwell further on that thought, you tread over a particularly unstable patch of ground. There was only a brief sound of crumbling before the earth below surrendered under your weight and you found yourself falling...!
🌸 Write 400 words/draw you Snakekey in the holey area or falling into the ground

🌿 Step 3: Despite being tumbled around on your way down, hitting the ground didn't actually hurt that much. You were really more surprised than anything. While trying to catch your breath, the Feather Bird floated down from the now large hole overhead. A beam of light cast a halo around its feather-like fuzz and illuminated the underground chamber you now found yourself in. With purpose, the insect hovered ahead to land on a small, rounded shape left alone in the dirt. Was that an egg...? Coming closer to confirm, you wondered how long it'd been down here...
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your Snakekey in the underground chamber

🌿 Step 1: An unfamiliar Snakekey stops you in your tracks with a raised hand and a small "Ey!". Xe's a young Superior by the looks of it, staring up at you with a confident gleam in xir eye and a large black box tucked under one arm with a missing paw
"'Ello there, stranger!" Xe calls to you with a theatrical boom in xir voice "Can I interest you in this here box? Very mysterious and -for you- free of charge! A special offer for all new customers." Xe shifts xir position, causing the box to clunk cryptically while xe waits for your answer, a mischievous look on xir face
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC reacting to this offer

🌿 Step 2: The young was still awaiting your reply when a distant, muffled screech twisted the grin off xir face. Xe cast a glance around, but couldn't seem to find the source of the cry

"Tell you what!" Xe adopted a wide, somewhat nervous smile "I'll leave this here. If you want it, it's yours! If not, just leave it here and I'll be back to pick it up later." Xe then slowly lowered the package to the ground, gave the lid a couple reassuring pats, and then slithered away with what seemed like abnormal speed. The screech flared up again, sounding like it'd altered its course to follow the disappearing keke. You're left alone with the shadowy box, which is sitting in front of you like any normal box would considering the situation

🌸 Write 300 words/draw you keke/PC opening the box, leaving it behind, taking it home, etc...

🌳 Left Behind 🌳

🌿 Step 1: You were out and about one day, exploring an area that you're not that familiar with. In the process, you stumbled across what looked to be an abandoned home. It's sustained some damage, having a few holes in it, and the nearby foliage has crept over the shell of what it once was. Overall, it has a decrepit feel to it, making you almost uncomfortable to look at. The silence seems to assure you that you should not be here
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC encountering or investigating the old house

🌿 Step 2: Regardless of your gut feeling, you find yourself inside the creaky, old building, glancing about its contents. The furniture, although aged and weathered, remains. It's as if a family could have been living here just days before. Carefully picking your way past toppled tables and shelves, something catches your eye. A small nest is curled up a corner, filled with bits and pieces of eggshells. Compared to its surroundings, the nest itself looks somewhat new, perhaps made by a lone keke to shelter their young until they hatched. One egg remains hidden away in the soft heap, its appearance not the same as the remains of the others...
🌸 Write 300 words/draw you keke/PC investigating the nest, reacting to the egg, etc...

searching_plumie_young_by_hannah__bug_dc Lost It

🌿 Step 1: You encounter a Plumie young who looks quite downcast. They don't seem to notice you and busy themselves with turning over nearby rocks with their chubby wings, poking their nose into bushes, and digging tiny holes in the ground. They patrol a wide area with their searching gets progressively less accurate and more frantic the longer you stand there. If you're nice, you might ask them what's wrong. If not and you attempt to leave or don't budge, they'll abruptly notice you. Either way, you earn the same nervous squawking

"Hello! Have you seen it?! I was practicing my flying and I dropped it!! I can't find it! Help!!! Please!" Without explaining further, they dive back into their search
🌸 Write 400 words/draw your keke/PC helping the Plumie young find..."it"...? The Plumie may, but is not required to look like the one here

🌿 Step 2: While looking for...whatever "it" is (the Plumie cries in distress if you keep trying to leave and it's...really loud...), something jumped up next to you, as if trying to get on eye level with you. Glancing over, you see that it's a Catch-Me-Not staring you down with its large, judging eyes. In it's mouth, it holds what looks to be an earring in the shape of a flower carved from colorful stone. It spins the jewelry so that the pokey part is facing out and...almost looks like it's brandishing it at you...? Like a sword?? What is this thing's problem? Before you can think about it any more, it pounces right at your face
🌸 Write 250 words/draw your keke/PC dealing with the now armed Catch-Me-Not

🌿 Step 3: While you and the small salamander engage in honorable combat, the Plumie becomes wise the the situation. They scream at the absolute top of their lungs, shaking up both you and the lizard. After their shriek, they point one of their tiny talons at the critter yell, still maintaining quite the volume

"That's it!!! They stole it!!!!!!" Having had enough of this, the Catch-Me-Not hops away from you and sprints full tilt away from the both of you. This predictably sends the young Snakekey into a frenzy. Get that thing before your ears fall off!
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC attempting to recover the earring

Thanks to luck itself, you manage to get the little bauble back from the salamander. When you go to return it to the keke who lost it, they thank you enough that it borders on obnoxious, but don't let you leave empty handed. They fly off and return with a decorative jar of paper stars, which they spill on the ground for you before taking off again (for good this time)

🔥 Only You 🔥

🌿 Step 1: The sun has set and it's a particularly dark night. Clouds mostly cover the moon and planets, only allowing tiny threads of light to slip through every now and again. The occasional rumble from the distance warns their might be a storm at some point, but their air feels too dry. Maybe it will rain tomorrow, but surely not tonight
🌸 Write 250 words/draw your keke/PC out in the dark night

🌿 Step 2: A flicker of light catches you attention, much too low on the horizon to have come from a celestial body. You feel your guard start to rise without really thinking about it. The far off, orange glow feels unnatural, like it shouldn't be there. Telling yourself that you shouldn't jump to alarm, you attempt to push away the alien feeling and continue on your way. Still...you can't help but cast the occasional glance towards the light. It may be your eyes playing tricks on you, but you could have sworn it wasn't that large just moments ago...
🌸 Write 250 words/draw your keke/PC watching the glow

🌿 Step 3: The uneasy feeling in your chest gets the better of you. Planning to only get a quick closer look, you pick your way towards the orange haze. The nearer you get, the more the light seems to dance and tremble amongst the undergrowth as if were alive. A dusting of acrid smoke drifts towards you on a stray breeze causing your heart to skip a beat. The smell of the ground burning, the strange wave of the light... This is a wildfire, small but spreading. A loud pop of the flames consuming more plant life breaks you from your temporary stun. You have to do something about this...!
🌸 Write 400 words/draw your keke/PC reacting to the fire. Do they attempt to suffocate it with dirt? Do they get water or run for help?

🌿 Step 4: Thankfully, your quick action results in the end of the flames. Some leaves still smolder here and there, but they're easily put out. Left dejected on the patch of charred earth, you find a broken lantern left behind. You figure it was dropped to start the blaze, but any trace of who did it or why was eaten up by the fire... Briefly, you search what remains of the foliage for tracks or some trace of a traveler, but the night has gone dark once again. Searching now is near futile. You suppose...you'd better try to swallow your adrenaline and return to what you were doing before...
🌸 Write 300 words/draw your keke/PC in the charred area or returning to what they were doing

Reward: +30 paper starsdelete.gif
