In the vein of the "What's in your character's pocket?" thread, here's another little question that might say a lot about your character!
What's the single most important physical item in your character's life, the one thing they would save from a burning building? Why is it so important to them? (Alternately, is there anything they would be happy to see burn?)
(Maybe try not to pick pets or loved ones for this since that's probably the logical first priority for most characters, but you can if that's absolutely the only thing that would be on their mind!)
I'll go first, and say that Amber would save her guitar, because it was a gift from someone very dear to her who has since passed on.

He cherishes it more than anything in the world, since 1. It was the last photo he took with them and 2. Photos are very, very rare in the novakid race due to their natural tendency to forget and not write down their history-
He probably tries his best to get what he inherited since the era when he was still part of Austria-Hungary away from the fire. Those are the most treasured items for him since he cherished the time he lived with several settlement spirits who now got separated into several countries after Austria-Hungary collapsed at the end of WWI (i.e. Slovakia, Serbia, Hungary). He already lost some during the Yugoslav Wars so he's certainly keen to protect those still in his possession now.
Box of memories that include polaroids and other old things of her and her sister, who she hasn't seen or heard from in almost a decade, since they are the last remnants of her that Shizuki has. She could lose a lot of things that could be replaced but those? Once they're gone they're gone.
Cassius would panic. A fire? A fire? with all this important paper work and all these- oh no! Only one?? No, no that wouldn't do, sure he could grab this and this and- oh! surely all these-
He'd have to be dragged out of the fire to stop him from trying to rescue all his important work, and in that case...he'd be dragged out with his work laptop being the only thing he could hold onto.
Well my OC would save her broomstick because thats the only way she can get around places in no time and also escape the fire.
Simply because without that she is gonna walk and thats no fun
His books, or at least the more rare and obscure old tomes and such, the ones he wouldn't be able to get a replacement for if they were lost
His necklace. A demon who was friendly (to him, anyway...) gave it to him as a kid after introducing him to magic. That demon made Candle change his life entirely.
I'd definitely save my headphones! ... Or my skateboard? Well... nah...! The headphones! However, I could escape from the fire on my skateboard saving my headphones! But that would be cheating, I guess?
