Ask a Simple Question to the OC Above You

Posted 5 years, 6 months ago (Edited 1 year, 3 months ago) by RadiantRaindragon

Hello and welcome!

This is a question game for those who don't like writing too much, don't want to analyse long bios, or just don't want to worry about breaking any rules regarding the length of their post.

I love learning all the tidbits that make up who a character is, no matter how 'unimportant' - the origin of a nickname, their favourite season, how they got their pet, why they like a certain game. Please read the rules before posting!

Format example:

Person 1's post: What are Ethereal's hobbies? Edit: Crowley likes thunderstorms the most!

Person 2's post: What is Crowley's favourite weather? Edit: Lucifer likes racing and platformer games most, especially Mario games.

Person 3's post: What videogames does Lucifer play?

You can post IC if you want the next person to question a specific character, or you can post OOC and let them pick for themselves.

-Rules-

1. Try to avoid asking questions that are already answered on the character's profile. That being said, don't get angry at someone if they do this - it's easy to miss things!
2. Detailed questions are still allowed! But you might not get a question of equal effort. That is the risk of the game.
3. Don't post characters who are marked 18+ or feature highly disturbing themes - let's try to keep it so everyone can enjoy the game.
4. Don't be rude, insulting, or passive-aggressive towards other people or their OCs in any way.
5. Wait for at least 3 people to post before you go again (unless over 12 hours have passed since the last post, then it's fair game for anyone).
6. Real questions only, please. This is not a place for memes or shitposts.
7. Don't skip people. Even if the above user has blocked you, that is not valid reason for skipping them.

If you break rules: Depending on the severity of the situation, I may either PM you with a warning or immediately ban you from the game. Regardless of severity, you can be banned if you repeatedly break rules.

Kogami

What and who caused him to be overprotective (or...almost possessive?) towards those he likes? Also seeing how he's a non-human and (I assume) a demon horns on his head, does he have any demon-related traits or backstory?

Not picking a specific character because anyone is fine for me c:

His favorite or most used insult is straight up calling a person is dense or "stupid". I mean he IS quite smart; so when someone perceive something in an almost ignorant or clueless way he'll literally call them out for being so simple-minded--

Speck the Cat Greyh0und

Chiito, what's your favorite insult to use on people?

"My lisp isn't too heavy, they just can't understand it with my accent. Mostly, I don't need to communicate, so simple head nods usually suffice."

 Isaac ParadiseLost

What are Bedella's thoughts on her appearance? For example, the moles, does she get annoyed by them?

"Err...I'm interested in space I guess? I kinda put on a tough guy act, that's why I don't usually tell people much. I will tell you this, though - mess with my crew, especially my sis Jínyi, and you mess with me. That's what makes me tick."

Roswell van Breek fizzelston

"From one mustachioed fellow to the next," he said as he leaned Isaac' way, "yer quite a mystery aren't ye fellow? So what are de things dat interest ye? Wat makes yer tick?" He asked as he poked his finger in Isaac' chest.

Yes! He sometimes has trouble writing, and small things as putting on clothes, he got used to it though (he missed his eye for 19 years now, so most of his "depth perception" is recovered (as that, is a thing apparently if I have to believe google??), he just sucks at throwing stuff and blames his eye for it.

King Eldritch RadiantRaindragon

So I know that he can't throw knives very well anymore because of missing eye = no depth perception, but does this cause him trouble with any other tasks? i.e. is there anything else he can't do or struggles with doing because of his missing eye?

He's only really close to one person, his advisor (dude who helps him with making royal decisions and other stuff). He doesn't have a name yet, but he's been serving Eldritch since his coronation. He's the only person Eldritch fully trusts, and the only one who knows the precise details of Eldritch's memory loss.

He used to be close to his family, but they're long dead and he doesn't remember anything about them anymore. He probably had childhood friends too, but he doesn't remember them either. :(

He does like to be around other people, but he's naturally kinda distant/reserved and finds it hard to connect with others, especially because of his royal status.

Hyejin Choi randadraws

even though there’s memory loss, is there still at least one person he stays close to like a best friend or does he stay by himself most of the time?

She had a really heavy Korean accent when she was younger but as she got older and took some classes the accent is still there but not as much. She practices a lot and even though her Korean accent is only slightly there, you can still hear a hint of it, but to her she feels it doesn’t sound natural enough and that it’s too heavy. Other then that her voice sounds mature but not super deep, just kind of calm though her rap voice sounds tough. Lol sorry if that didn’t make sense I’m not good at explaining voices.

Lyra ParadiseLost

Hmm...what does she sound like? Especially on the covers of American songs, since she's self conscious about those?

She started her channel with indie games (Freedom Planet comes to mind), so that's pretty much what she's known for at this point - Let's Playing indie/fan games, generally platformers but also an RPG or two. She wants to move to a Nintendo Switch title (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate) but she's absolutely terrible at fighting games in general so she doesn't play it right now.

The Pack (03 | Yoshihito Sakurai [Star]) HowlingCat

So what kind of games does Lyra play for her channel?

That's a fun question! Let's see his worst customer experienced involved him dealing with a drunk woman during a night shift he had to take. The woman kept hitting on him despite repeatedly stating that he is a married man and was making a mess of the place by knocking things around. While he does deal with this every once in a while, he was working on the night shift and that in itself really soured his mood. He did end up getting into a argument with her, which devolved into the woman throwing things at him and screaming at him. Thankfully, Yoshi did manage to kick her out..though not before the woman puked on his floor. Needless to say, he sworn off night shifts after that incident. The mess from that night was just too much for him >.>

Sasha Greyh0und

What's Yoshi's worst encounter with a customer?

Sasha is preferred,  but any OC with a bio is up for asks

Guardy

What kind of things does Sasha like to read?

Okay, so. Jaime.

Small side note on magic in DOAMS: There's three kinds of magic. Intrinsic magic (uses the magic reserves of the individual mage), extrinsic magic (pulls magic from the environment) and extraplanar magic (dicking around with alternate universes 'n stuff; super illegal). Intrinsic magic works a bit like wriggling one's ears - once you've figured out how it works, you can Just Do It. Intrinsic magic also needs hella magical talent and is actually pretty rare. Extrinsic magic is spells and runes and all that stuff. More complex, but also less immediate.

Jaime's really good at intrinsic magic, less so at extrinsic magic. With intrinsic magic, she could theoretically heat things up, except Jaime's bad at subtlety so things usually just start to burn instead (she could also theoretically cool things down and use ice powers, but she... really really sucks at that). She can also create force fields, use telekinesis, and has some manner of supernatural control over her own body - partial immunity to cold and limited self-healing, mostly.

Extrinsic magic would allow her to do most other typical magic stuff - illusions, tapping into other people's magic reserves, locating certain things, manipulating elements. Dungeons and Dragons kinda things. She's also not very good at that stuff yet, because that's the kind of magic you actually have to learn, and... well, she's had a really late start to that.

Her parents can't do magic - at least not like Jaime can.

Thing is: Many people have some measure of magical aptitude, and can theoretically become a mage and use extrinsic magic. Except you need a really strong affinity to magic to get results right away, and even MORE magic to be able to use intrinsic magic just like that. It's not entirely clear if magic's a hereditary thing or if it's a nature vs nurture thing and the familial accumulation of mages is just due to people from magical families being taught magic more frequently. Nobody's ever done studies on the distribution of people without any magical talent at all.

Jaime's an exception even by the standards of traditional mage families, though.

Colin RadiantRaindragon

About Jaime - what kinds of magic can she use? I know she does fire magic (and probably accidentally sets things on fire a lot of the time), but does she exclusively use fire magic, or can she use magic connected to other elements/forces?

Also, can either of her parents do magic, or is the ability to use it more of a random thing in your universe, rather than an inherited/genetic thing?

The thing he misses most about his old life is the feeling of security - having a home, knowing he's not going to run out of food and knowing that if he has a problem, they'll be someone there to ask for advice. Nowadays, he lives a pretty hard life on the streets of Angustis City, so that sense of security is long gone. Most days, he has to fight and steal just to get enough money for food.

He kinda wants to return to his old life, but never will because two reasons:

  1. He doesn't want to scare Tina with his demonic appearance and the last thing he wants is for her to hate him.
  2. He believes that, after so long living alone, he's grown to be very independent and responsible, and doesn't need anyone around to help him. (This isn't completely true, as he still very much craves company. He just gets it from his friends rather than family.)
FellowPigeon

Is there anything specific that Colin misses the most about his childhood living with Tina? Has he ever been tempted to return to that life?

Any character from this tag would be great!

 Aizaki ParadiseLost

How was Nella's old village like?

Aiz absolutely won't eat salad, unless it's got chicken in it. Aiz loves chicken and meat in general, so having that in the salad is generally enough for her.

As for the latter question, she actually has felt full often. But then she generally proceeds to sleep for twelve, fifteen hours and then is hungry again.
