Intro to the 3rd Gen / D2

Prompt D2 - Write a 400 word scene/story of your choosing involving your pride members
Word count: 408 / 400
Exp: 300

In the second year subsequent to King Kuth’s death, upon the peak of the Papyrus Moon that bright, hopeful night, the great Queen Amanzi and her mate, the ever - loyal King Isihambi birthed three regal sons of the same litter.

The first born was a son much like his father. He arrived on a noble and wise air, and such they named him Muhle. This boy brought his parents much comfort, for they knew their pride would prosper under his good hands.

The next to be born was not welcomed as openly, for he was deceitful and egoistic from his first breath. Thus, they could only name him Konakele, for corrupt was what he was. This dark cub’s arrival caused his parents much grief, for they could foresee that, if they could not correct him, his dangerous anger could require banishment, or worse.

The third and final pleased his parents, though. They named him Onakekelayo, for he was, without a doubt, lively and loving, with a heart tuned only to others. He was perfect for his position, and they knew he would do well to balance out the other two.

As the family rested in each others’ presence, each considered the future in their own way. Amanzi could see brotherly power struggles, fighting, but nonetheless a bond unlike any the world had ever seen, and that brought her peace. Isihambi saw the honor his boys would bring him, each in their own way. He knew a pure, unconditional love like none ever before, and this brought him joy. The oldest and heir to the throne, Muhle, prepared for a life of standards, stress, and struggles, but tied together with respect and loyalty. He saw his brothers as his biggest supporters, but also his biggest competition. Still, he rested easy, for he knew he may never rest without responsibly again. Inside Konakele, a hot anger was forming, and he was fitful. He saw the unfairness his life would bring, and the lack of appreciation and understanding. He couldn’t see love or support, and for this he was troubled. Onakekelayo, though, was the happiest of all. He recognized how lucky he was to have the family and pride that he did, and the position that he would have. He saw only love, from others and for others, and his heart swelled.

This was only the beginning, and the future, both beautiful and dark, loomed ahead, but the family was ready.
