VoK Prompts

Prompt: Choose an individual and explain how they feel about the ocean. Whether its the shallows they can see- or the deep dark blue. If they've never seen the ocean- have they heard of it? What would they think of it if they did?

Prompt: Amanzi is one with the ocean. Without it, she wouldn't even be just another lion: she wouldn't be alive. Indeed, when she was at her lowest, the ocean saved her and gave her a purpose. With the ocean within her, Amanzi went on to be the queen the pride needed, but she will never forget her beginnings. She visits the ocean as often as her position permits to calm down, reflect, or unwind. As queen, she makes sure that no one in the pride takes the ocean for granted either. Because of their distance from the ocean, the pride would not naturally rely on this body of water, but Amanzi ensures that they make the most of it anyway. After all, you can take the lion out of the ocean, but you can't take the ocean out of the lion. (140) 

Prompt: Choose an individual and write about something (or someone) they chose to walk away from, and if it was a benefit or harm to them overall

Prompt date: 05/17

Prompt: Shintsha was raised to run, so that part was second nature for her. The only other difference is that she had never run to anything before, only away from something threatening or dangerous. When she chose to seperate from her fleeing pride to return to their invaded territory and fight for her home, she was forging a new path; a path that would lead to her future and fate, and she regards it as the best decision she ever made. She achieved what the "bravest" from her pride were to scared to do, and she wasn't even three. This bold decision would become her legacy: one to be proud of and never run from. (114) 

Pompt: Write about your group's method of handling illness, do they send the sick away or do they have a concept of quarantine?

Prompt: Ukusizana Pride has always taken sicknesses very seriously. In fact, a medicinal healer has always served to care for all the smaller injuries and illnesses while the priest doubles as a holy healer (that is, working on God's behalf to heal via miracles where it is his will) for more dire and fatal issues. Luckily, there has never been an outbreak of something contagious and deadly, but if this were to arise, some serious miracles would be prayed for and all lions would likely be quarantined to their family dens while all their needs are cared for by the healers. (100)

Prompt: Choose an individual and explain how they would respond to someone who has opposite, or extremely different beliefs than them. (you can choose the belief at your discretion); Would they be afraid of them? respond in anger? be curious about it, or openminded to them?

Prompt date: 06/14/21

Prompt: As someone whose job is to represent and uphold the pride's religious beliefs, Umuso will never waver from what he believes to be true. Regardless, when he encounters someone who is vocal about their opposing beliefs, he will always listen to what they have to say. Unlike others who might shy away from contradictions in fear of "corruption," Umuso sees these opinions like a challenge. Even when he doesn't try to convert the adversary, though, he thinks of it as a learning experience because to argue for your stance you have to know the other side's stance. When he is able to thoroughly argue a point, it strengthens his own beliefs even if the opposition isn't convinced. (117) 

Prompt: Choose an individual and explain their choice in music. What are they drawn to, or what do they create themselves? Whether its style, medium/instrument, or specific types of voices/ect

Prompt date: 06/17/21

Prompt: Ukungazi loves all types of soft music. Be it classical, indie, lo fi, or even gentle songs with uplifting vocals, she loves it all. Call her delicate, but she abhors any song with harsh lyrics and strong beats and anything turned up too loud. In her eyes, the point of music is to help you relax, compliment anything you're doing, and add beauty to your day, not make you feel strong emotions. In fact, she doesn't understand why anyone would choose to listen to "sad" or "angry" songs since she is naturally a very optimistic lion. Because of this, you can often find her vibing out or working with a gentle melody in the background or getting distracted and listening to the music of nature. (125)
