Information on Nero, Nicholas and Zer!

Nero's backstory was the first I wanted to work on but holy crap I got nowhere with it fast. X_x;.. So excerpts only! Nicholas's backstory. Originally written in like 2018, one part a night. Some nights more parts. I don't remember. It's been years. :P And Zer Oshay's backstory. This one was written shortly after Nicholas's backstory, but I never kinda got anywhere with it.

But also some world info! :)

Nicholas Kestrel - Ch 1: Page 9

After the whole spectacle was over, Nicholas had found himself in a cheap motel, watching television. Of course he checked in under a false name, he had learned over the years that having multiple fake IDs was an excellent idea.

Nicholas found many mention of the robbery, about how heroic security guards managed to take down the gunmen, but that the loot had already been taken away by some unknown, unseen accomplice.

Typical.

But the one thing that bothered Nicholas was no mention of HIM. So no police on his tail? Thinking back, ofcourse the security cameras were early targets, can't leave evidence.. Which meant that it may have recorded him leaving before it all happened..

But not the shoot-out afterwards. And with the other guy taking his gun back and shooting at Nicholas, his fingerprints were potentially smudged or covered. Did he really get scot free?

... Ofcourse not. His car and most of his belongings were still out in the desert. If they hadn't been taken already. Still, he decided to call for a tow truck to pick it up. He opted to pay in advance, telling them to keep the cash if for some reason his car was gone.

Nicholas had to admit it was odd they never even checked his wallet, but if their intention was indeed a nice cleanup through random killing, then it would've been off if he hadn't had his wallet..

Still. Maybe there were parts Nicholas simply didn't understand or wasn't aware of. Or maybe purposeful miscommunication between the planning group and the group that ended up dying anyway.

The gunmen were, after all, the same people who had kept him locked up. He hadn't realized it at first, but they were definitely among the rotating guard.. He checked other channels for more reported robberies, but it remained this one.

He got a call that his car was at the garage, so he decided to check things out. Nicholas was looking over his shoulder the entire way to the garage, but nobody seemed after him. And that definitely was his car.

And thus, Nicholas sat in his motel room. Now WITH his belongings. Waiting for his junker of a car to get fixed. Was he just paranoid? Maybe they thought this was enough.. No, the cartel would never think this is enough.

But he also never understood the original debt. There were so many holes in the story, so many things that didn't make sense to Nicholas..

For right now, very little he could do about it. So he took a shower. Finally wore a different Hawaii shirt. Went out and got his jacket fixed. Ordered a pizza- a good one this time.

And sat back.

Just.. Calming down. Getting his bearings back.

A few days passed.
