Information on Nero, Nicholas and Zer!

Nero's backstory was the first I wanted to work on but holy crap I got nowhere with it fast. X_x;.. So excerpts only! Nicholas's backstory. Originally written in like 2018, one part a night. Some nights more parts. I don't remember. It's been years. :P And Zer Oshay's backstory. This one was written shortly after Nicholas's backstory, but I never kinda got anywhere with it.

But also some world info! :)

Nero - Excerpt 2

It was a decently warm spring day. The weather made it seem as if summer had come early. Temperatures had risen to the point where schools decided to scratch the remaining curriculum, replacing it with an overabundance of swimming classes. Classes that very easily degraded into just having fun in the pool, because even the swimming teachers began yearning for the summer holiday.

However, for one small kitten, this summer-like heat was more a reason to enjoy sleeping in the sun. Before this heat, it was a very active kitten, loving to explore it's surroundings, climbing on everything and everyone. But this heat had numbed it's lust for adventure. All that this carefree little kitten felt like was sleep until it was time to eat and then sleep some more afterward, until it was time to retreat to the warm confines of it's bed and rest after a hard day of sleeping.

It's owners' little son didn't seem to agree with this philosophy. After getting swimming lessons at school, the boy had whined for days for a pool. And the boy got his wish in the form of a small inflatable pool, where the kid then played and played.. Until he got an idea.

Gently picking up the tiny kitten, not disturbing it's slumber, softly brushing it's fur.. And then fun in the pool for both! The boy had learned how to swim, he thought, so he would teach the tiny feline to do the same.

In it's half asleep state, finding itself gasping for air and standing or floating in what commonly was used to quench it's thirst, the kitten panicked, mewing as loud as it could in between choking on water. The boy didn't understand why the small kitten went limp as his parents took it away from him.

The cat, having miraculously survived the incident, understandably kept a fear of large bodies of water and a slew of nightmares about drowning even as it grew older, taller and humanoid after the events of the Breaking.
