The "Between" is also described as ruling system. An invisible court.
The first thing, that happens to spirits who re-awaken, they tend to have a short conversation, with 2 humanoid creatures, created by demons & angels as embassadors of equal-balance; For Chaos and Peace.
They have no names. No faces. They are almost placeholder-like. Both humanoids represent a side; Punishment and Reward.
The angels, tend to be in charge, for all the positive things, that a person could've done or happened.
The demons, sway more on punishment's side. They list all the things a person is guilty of and their crimes.
Now, what's interesting, is; That it's up to the person, to understand where they belong to. The two husks, merely judge. They give sentences and do as told. They make a person question their behaviour, down to their psychological core. They list every memory. Every crime.
They base in simple factors, on how you perceived the world you lived in. How you treated those around you, how you could've hurt or helped others.
They exist in the void. They don't live, breathe, nor have emotions, so they judge as fairly as they can, for a simple predicament, until angels check their credentials and history, that the two have already listed. A demon will drag them away, in case they were a blatantly bad person. Angels check, if a person isn't playing a facade of kindness and is genuine. They accept anyone, so long they were polite, or if their motives and intentions were pure.
